I'm TK, your guide to the past as we uncover the people, events, and little-known facts hidden in the shadows of your old history textbooks. From empress baddies like Hatshepsut and Wu Zetianto, activist profiles, Egyptian and Japanese gods and goddesses, and the history of the toothbrush, tattoos, Pompeii peepees, and everything in between, you can find it all here. Great History Shorts
I absolutely love this podcast, I have followed TK for a long time on IG but just didn’t listen to the podcast, until now. I have listened from oldest to newest and am on episode 81 at this very moment. I have learned so much that I have NEVER knew about, she makes everything so fun to listen to. I definitely feel For the Love of History is a great use of my time. I look forward to listening to her every day.

    History BFF
I haven’t found many podcasts that have only one host that I love. They often feel scripted and one note. TK provides enough pizzazz and personality that I’m never missing the banter with another host. She makes FTLoH feel like you’re listening to a bff and somehow it feels like she’s in the room with you. You can definitely hear and feel her passion for learning and educating. I am one delighted little donut!

    Such a great podcast!!
I discovered FTLOH a couple of weeks ago and binged all of the episodes after that! TK is such an engaging host and makes all of the topics so interesting.

TK is so sweet and funny! She is that awesome history (lifelong) teacher that we all needed. 10 out of 10 would listen again.

    This is my favorite podcast!
I discovered FTLOH earlier this year and have binged it all. Now I wait weekly and look forward to it

Yummy stories for my brain soup 🥣
Tehya is a great storyteller with a wonderful voice, and makes the topics very casual, light, and digestible to listen to. The timing is perfect to finish these ‘short stories’ over a commute, and learn a little bit more about the world, especially the obscure and non-canonical. I love the positive energy, especially when maybe the episode isn’t always so positive, she makes sure to end on a positive note! Get it, woman!

I adore your podcast! I always learn something new. My daughter and I listen in the car while running errands. We were listening to the first season's shows and glad to wait in the car to finish out the show on Pope Gregory and the cats.

    Great Show, Always Learn Something
I first found TK from her reels on Facebook. When I learned about her podcast, I immediately subscribed. Every single episode has been both informative and entertaining (though some bring out the spicy version of me just like the topics can bring out spicy TK as well). Definitely looking forward to more seasons and wanted to tell you TK that you’re amazing and I wish we we neighbors because you seem like someone who I’d get along with really well in real life! Stay hydrated, get some rest as you prepare for the next season, and keep doing what you’re doing!

    History with personality
I love that I leave each episode feeling like I’m friends with Tk. Not only does she give us well researched information, she also gives it to us in a way that makes me interested in learning about it!

    For the love of History!
This is digestible, enjoyable historical nuggets. Presented in a sunshiny way. I 1st came across TK on her infotainment skits, found my way to the podcast and now I’m burning through them. The thought and research that goes into each episode is not lost on me, can’t wait til next season. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK TK! 💚

    Delightful
TK is a lot of fun. She talks about a wide variety of historical topics. I focused on American history in my studies, so I love hearing about people and/or events I may not have as much familiarity with in other parts of the world and other periods of history.

    The Sunshine Every Friday
This is one of my favorite podcasts. This podcast helped me get through the “college Covid” year. Everything around me was shifting but this show has always brought me so much joy. Thank you TK for taking us on new adventures and sharing knowledge, happiness, delicious little donuts and humanity every step of the way.

Love this! Great for listening while chilling, mowing, driving, and rocking babies.. or maybe that’s just me. 100% feel the care and enthusiasm in each episode.

    Good topics buuuuuuut…
The topics are great. There is a mix of stuff that you’ve heard of with stuff you likely haven’t. I love that. The length is a pro and a con for me. Sometimes it’s just too brief for me and I wish there was 10-15min more and other times it feels just right and I can do more reading on my own. I have two reasons for not giving this podcast five stars. 1. I’ve noticed some inaccuracies and there isn’t any sort of correction for them done in editing. For the most part they seem like TK just misspoke and said 12,000 instead of 1200 or BCE instead of CE but it still matters. 2. The over usage of the phrase “but I digress.” It comes out A LOT—not just every episode but oftentimes several times an episode—especially in the earlier episodes. I find it annoying. Is it the end of the world? No. Am I going to stop listening over it? Also no. But it does grate on me each time I hear it.

    My first podcast
I’ve always been a reader. I love the feel and smell of books. I saw this podcast mentioned on instagram and thought I’d check it out. I wasn’t certain if I could get into anything with just audio. I’m really a visual person. I have listened to a few so far of these podcasts and I’m hooked. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge. I love that the podcasts are just like listening to a dear friend tell a great story. The bonus is that you add links about the facts below the podcasts. Thank you for being you.

Love her show- wish they were longer and more of them! Keep it up!!!
  • Elkoll
    👍👍
I’ve just made it through the whole show now. Before this I’d considered myself a history buff, but after I’ve found myself lacking in (especially) Asian history, but FTLOH is helping. I like the way TK speaks and it’s a good fit for listening during cooking or other household chores. I’ve found myself doing extra in order to listen longer. I recommend pre-listening before you do this, but some episodes are great for 8th graders if you’re looking for “best auntie status”. My niece is a new fan, and I love adding to her education in a way that she doesn’t realize is so educational. So, fold some clothes, can a vat of salsa, or drive your niblings home from school and learn about weird history.
  • Biblio-Cat
    Love Love!!
Love history and love how your present history! You are a great presenter!! I am binging!!! I found you when I saw Sharon on YouTube.
  • Roushesabroad
    My favorite educational pod
I grew up hating history. I had one history professor in college, who made the facts come alive for me, and I feel like I have found that again in this podcast. I love TK’s take on history and her ability to find not so well-known stories. She makes history come to life!
  • Raija M
    Nothing is that exciting…
The content of this podcast is really interesting but oh my gosh this host is insufferable. It’s like listening to a morning talk show host who has had wayyy too much coffee. Honestly, information stops being interesting/exciting if you present everything at a level 12.
  • NP Combs
    🙌🏼 I’m here for it!!
I found For the Love of History while scrolling on Reels. I absolutely love learning about history that had not been watered down! As a woman, it is very empowering to learn about strong and smart women in history! My daughter is now hooked as well! This podcast is amazing! Well done TK 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

    I’m in!
Remember when you were in school and you had that ONE teacher that made class and learning fun? Enter TK. I found the podcast whilst scrolling on the gram and learned a fun little fact from a quick reel that also left me in stitches. I am not a podcast person. But TK is so engaging and literally says everything you’re thinking when learning about, oh idk, flying pee pees. I’ve laughed, almost cried, dove into side research and now call everyone a “delicious doughnut.” Even if it’s a somber topic TK, much like my therapist, does not leave you feeling down at the end of the episode. I highly recommend this to everyone. Even if you’re not a history person; I dare you not to enjoy it.

    10/10 would recommend!
I love TK!! It’s clear she does tons of research for these episodes, and always makes topics interesting and engaging for her listeners! I really appreciate how earnest and energetic she is. TK always injects humor into the episodes while still relaying tons of information. I recommend this podcast to all my friends. Hearing TK’s voice come on my feed always puts a smile on my face.

    Hey Friend!
I rarely leave reviews but I’m enjoying this podcast so much (on episode 20), I felt compelled to leave one. This podcast is so fun! I love TK’s personality and enthusiasm for all things historical. It’s like sitting down with your history nerd friend and asking them to tell you a cool story. Episode length 👍🏻 Audio quality 👍🏻 Content 👍🏻 I found it on an Instagram story where it was tagged along with a bunch of other female led podcasts on International Women’s Day.
  • JulesMN/WI
    So Interesting
I found this podcast through her Instagram account and am so glad I did! Interesting topics and well researched. I love the twist of history, not the same stories you learned in school. The BEST part of the podcast is how TK talks as if she is chatting with a friend. I can’t stand a podcast where they read every single word. This is so refreshing and cool!
  • Jiesylsayshi
Got Bit By the History Bug…. AGAIN
I love this podcast and the interesting new takes on areas of history that you don’t find! TK presents history in a way where I, as a listener, see historical figures through a much more human lens.
  • MagistraAmo
    Love!
I love TK’s passion for history especially diving into lesser known historical characters and facts. I always learn so much and she inspires me to learn more and share with others. Plus she has an adorable personality and I feel like I’m spending time with a friend each podcast.
