    Best drumming podcast
I always look forward to when a new episode comes out. Love the variety in gear talk and interviews. One draw back is that my gear purchases have increased because of the show.

Can’t make it more than ten minutes into an episode without drumming. This is high quality content, folks!

Love this show! I look forward to the depth of knowledge, care in presentation and warm style each week. Make this a regular listen if you’re a new drummer or tired old vet with hearing loss and a bad back like me!

    The best drumming podcast
I subscribe to all of the drumming related podcasts, and this one is my favorite by far. It has the best mix of interviews, deep dives, industry news, and nerding out on gear. If you are a drummer or maybe you just love drums, and you want one podcast that gives you everything, this is the one to subscribe to. A+

    Informational and entertaining
My favorite drum podcast due to the variety and educational content. MD is so eloquent and brings such useful information to us working and studying drummers. The interviews are well thought out with really interesting guests. The top 10 is just plain fun. I look forward to each episode. Well done team.

Fantastic podcast not just for drummers

    Well Done Mike
Love the podcast and the new format. Great guests, topics and variety. In particular I like that the podcast touches on such a wide range of musical genres and drummer styles. I am a voracious consumer of drum podcasts and this is one of the best. If there was a sixth star I would tap it. Thanks Mike and everything you do for the drumming community!

Season 1 was great. Season 2 might be even better
I love the different segments in season 2. They add to the already great format of season 1. The information and ideas that Mike curates is an education that can help any drummer.

    My favorite drumming podcast
I have always enjoyed what Mike brings to any podcast, but I especially love the areas that he explores on Drum Candy. My favorite episodes are the “10 things to love about…“ It’s like being at a drum hang where we all geek out about the drummers we love.

    The host sounds bored
Honestly, you sound more interested in your own stories than those of your guests.

    Real Deal
Mike's industry, product, and musical knowledge really shine through in this solo podcast about drums and drummers. I especially enjoy the ample space he leaves for his guests to express themselves, and how he engages them using both serious questions and humor. In every episode I've learned something new, to be tucked away for future reference. Bravo Mike!

    Nerd heaven
Mike Dawson flexes his expertise eloquently and honestly. She invites great guests onto the show and allows the interviewing process to breathe; he doesn’t bombard them with obligatory questions, he allows is expert guests to explore conceptual drumming. I’m a huge fan, and I always will be. Thanks Mike for doing this, and thanks to DFD.

A treasure trove of generously offered drum wisdom
This podcast is utterly fantastic and incredible -- for multiple reasons. I’ll try to keep it concise. First, a show that provides detailed gear discussion and insights from the top players in the profession is a gift that drummers of previous decades could not have ever dreamed of. We are truly spoiled. Second, as others have rightly pointed out, Mike’s interviewing style is such a breath of fresh air. He affords uninterrupted space for the guests to express their complete thoughts and answers to his questions. Mike’s journalistic professionalism and calm restraint stand in stark contrast to the many podcast hosts who cannot bear even a moment of their own silence. Third, I have never once seen or heard a drummer withhold his or her philosophies or techniques. There are no guarded secrets among drummers. It is a community. I am not sure if this is the case in other professions. In my observation, drummers share everything openly and without any hesitation. Mike’s podcast consistently demonstrates this.

Rejoice! A place for us drum nerds
Came across this pod looking for Matt Chamberlain content, and I’m now plugging through each episode. Very well done, a great theme around gear, and all the guys are in their element with Mike, so it goes deep in sounds, songs, and snares. Keep it up!

    A+ content
Mike is doing a great job of bringing some of the best players in the world to a level that we ALL understand…gear! It’s great to hear drummers wax poetic about their first kit, and the stuff they’re into now. Great to have Mike back on the “podwaves”.

    My favorite podcast
I love how Mike creates the space for the interviews to go anywhere and everywhere. One person might dig into the minutia of snare wires and gaskets and nerdy gadget stuff. Another might go off on a tangent about life and philosophy. It all ties in. The chats are great, the amount of information is incredible and how genuine the conversations are. This hits the sweet spot for all things drum and every drummer worth their salt or just looking for some salt should listen.

    Drums and Drummers…
Easily one of, if not the, best drum related podcasts out there…..interesting, well thought out conversations with some of the most relevant drummers on the scene today. Drummers love gear, and this show has that covered in detail…..

    Great podcast!!!
Love this podcast! Awesome guests and host. Fun and full of good drum info… thank you Mike!
  • skraps71
    Gear is fun!
I like that Mike Dawson let’s the guest fully expand on a topic and not interrupting (which i find common in podcasts ) with their own experience. If you get a chance listen to the Jason McGerr episode. That’s the kind of stuff drum geeks (me) love.
  • Tronco22
    Welcome back!
Missed MD after the Modern Drummer run with MJ. So far the podcast is a great mix between personal interviews and gear talk. So far the guests are impressive!

Mike has such a wealth of knowledge and is such a down to earth host. The first episode made me want to sit down and play the drums more than anything I have heard in a long time. Cant wait for the next episode.
