    The Best.
Honestly I don't even listen to these sorts of shows anymore because they are all so tepid. But somehow I wound up downloading an episode and, wow. I have a nighttime headphone job, and I honestly got spooked by these episodes. That is very, very hard to do. If you want top quality paranomal with an excellent host, look no more. Unexplained with Richard McClain Smith is also a top quality pod, but this one has interviews etc which makes it a little more engaging. Great host, great music.

    fun and goofy but
The podcast host is allergic to asking open ended questions. Poor guests forced to answer Yes or No to everything because Danny’s enthusiasm feeds the story to them. You’d think someone would have pointed this out by now but nope.

    The “skeptics” are the worst.
Here’s a newsflash: None of the guys forwarding cutting edge science walk around claiming every person who tells a version of the same story over centuries, throughout the world, is some random selection of lying, confused, or living with a mental shortcoming. REAL scientists listen, then ask themselves how such a thing is possible. Absolutely, some people are one of the above, but when you NEVER admit you don’t know, you’re just plain lazy. The guy from “Most Haunted” is especially annoying. I hope he’s listed wherever he appears so I can never have to listen to his lame opinion again. The eyewitness are the only reason I didn’t leave 1 star. THEY are 5 stars, the other voices brought this rating down to 2.

    Too dismissive
First off Im a psychologist and very interested in the subject of the paranormal, with that being said, each show of Uncanny also has a skeptic that tries to debunk whatever happened to the person that had the paranormal experience. This “debunking” often just comes off as dismissive and almost like gaslighting, and often seems quite rude as they almost seem to be be saying that the person experiencing the paranormal is either crazy or stupid. There are better shows out there with out this dismissive tone, such as Otherworld. Just my two cents, enjoy your podcasts.

    Fun but flawed
Has a lot of potential and is really fun (and sometimes scary) but each story is cut and spread thin as vegemite across several episodes. The main problem is the shownotes digital/text part is SO badly organized. Try to figure out what you've already heard! Old episodes are posted twice. Some episodes start on bbc video (not available in my location) and resume on the podcast. We are pretty much giving up and will try again in a year or so. Maybe they'll learn basics of episode lists, teasers etc.

    Cheesy
These stories are mainly worth listening to. But the host, it’s hard to take the breathless presentation and overly hyped commentary. Just doesn’t need all his theatrics which are hard to take seriously. Let the stories stand on their own and this could be an excellent series.

    Fantastic Show
Last Halloween I started looking for a podcast with some real life ghost stories. What I found were some call in shows, shows that had guests telling outrageous stories and then trying to sell their book with more stories like it. I wanted better production value, a host that took a critical stance and better story telling, from people who weren’t trying to sell me something. I almost gave up until I found Uncanny (and Haunted). Uncanny has everything I was looking for and more! The stories are genuinely spooky, very entertaining and come from believable people with nothing to gain from telling them. Danny is a charming and engaging host and, as a hopeful skeptic myself, I love that he has skeptics on to comment and offer alternative theories. I can’t wait for new episodes!

    Fun nonsense
They need better skeptics as commentators! Most of these stories, if not all in fact, have very likely explanations, all much more probable than having to resort to the supernatural. Occam’s razor, after all, but that’s not the purpose of the podcast. Lol. It’s meant to be spooky fun, so on that level it delivers. I could do without the breathless delivery of the host, but that’s part of the spirit of the thing. Pardon the pun.

    Fascinating stories, has potential
Features some captivating stories, host is engaging. I find myself tuning out the segments with expert commentary. It breaks the momentum of a good story, and the commentary just doesn’t seem compelling to me. I’m personally not interested in whether the story can be true or debunked, I just like listening to it. So I fast-forward through the commentary and get back to the story. Just my own two cents.

    Gripping and researched
Really enjoying the selection of witnesses and the research going into each story. The music and storytelling is very captivating as well. However, the skeptics propose theories that are honestly less believable than the paranormal theories. Some even make me laugh. I also could have used a trigger warning for Season 1 Ep. 7

    Get Rid of the “Experts”
This show has great witnesses and stories but the so-called “experts” especially the “skeptics” are absolutely not needed and do a true disservice.

    Excellent show
Love the mix of new eps, guest/group discussions, and recaps when new information becomes available about a location. I’ve already toured the haunted Witch Farm in Wales with Danny Robins. Hope BBC produces more of his shows.

    Love it!!
I search and search for paranormal podcasts that are well done…and this is the top of the line! I adore Danny and his guests are wonderful storytellers. This is by far my favorite paranormal podcast!
  • CelenaLeroux
    Great but editing issues
Am I the inky one who is experiencing the dialogue jumps back as if it’s an editing mistake? This has happened 2-3 times on both episodes I’ve listened to. Great content so far I really love it
  • jonkern
    Love this podcast!
Scary & spooky without a “wink & a nod.” Sincere stories. Do I believe all of them? Probably not. However, I do think that the storytellers authentically believe in what they experienced. It’s mesmerizing! Thank you, Danny!

    I don’t fall for spookcasts …
Mark Gatiss has a live one on his hand. This pod makes this it’s doubly hard to believe in what’s already hard to sink me in. But the lure is so pretty, it’s a carrot l can’t resist. The host is creepy enough, it doesn’t take a lot to resist its serine song to be ensnare me. In the words of Marlene Dietrich: ‘maybe too hot for you’
  • JessHynes11
Danny is awesome! This pod is awesome
Soooo, what else can l say that I have not said on twitter. If you are even remotely interested in the paranormal- check this pod out. I wish I could go to uncannyfest (Hey Danny .. Any chances of coming to Texas?! Ahh, a girl can dream!) please keep them coming!!!!!! Much love from the Lone Star State xoxo.

    Atmospheric and engaging
I have been loving this series. Currently listening to the summer special. It’s obvious the host Danny is fascinated and passionate about the guests and their stories. The theme music from Lantern on the Lake is in my head all day and night, and adds a thrilling mood to the show. I highly recommend this podcast!!! I am a fan of Bafflegab, because of the Paul Magrs series they produce with supernatural comedy starring folks such as Tom Baker and Colin Baker.

    Believe it not
From the 1st episode I was hooked. The host is a delight. I love the examination from opposite angles. And I realized I love the sound effects. It makes me think of what it might have been like when radio stereo-telling was all there was (no tv). The topics are interesting. The guests are compelling. Whether one believes in the paranormal or not, it is not only great entertainment, it leaves me with a sense of deeper curiosity.

    This show changed my mind.
So I’m 40 and never quite understood why anyone would waste time listening to podcasts. I’ve heard more than a few and am almost always disappointed. Be it due to poor presenters, awful production quality, boring topics, and a cascade of other reasons. Having said all of that, this show is different. Danny is a chef’s kiss of a presenter, the episodes are never boring, the professionalism is unmatched, and I absolutely love the explanation through both the eyes of a skeptic and believer. I’m still not sure if ghosts are real but I am sure that I’m not going to miss a single episode.
  • incognito82
Love stories. Every single one of them
Dan is a good host. I love the stories

Fun, host is great, spooky show
I don’t believe in ghost so I avoid podcast about it, but came across this by mistake after listening to another BBC podcast. Surprise it’s entertaining, the host is entertaining and easy to listen to, great interviews and I enjoy the people who dispute the event n others who believe it.
  • Scottish Rain
    Very disappointing
Fails as a good ghost yarn and certainly as serious investigation. All hype, no substance.
  • Shaggy Mike
I only wish there was more!
This is a great podcast showing multiple views of paranormal encounters, and its truly unique for paranormal podcasts. I binge listened through all of these and hoping for a new season!
  • OMGALLTHENICKNAMESBETAKEN
    Absolutely incredible!
I love listening to podcasts about the paranormal I think it’s just fascinating, and this one is definitely my favorite. I love how into it Danny is, and how these are all real life stories. I myself am leaning towards the skeptic side of things, but I love hearing what believers have to say about it! Love the show, keep up the good work and PLEASE KEEP MAKING MORE EPISODES!❤️👻
  • Missiemom
    Best of the paranormal
This is the best paranormal podcast out with both sides discussing the “did they or didn’t they see a…” without shaming anyone. Can’t wait for more episodes.

    Truly Uncanny
I love this podcast. The host’s passion makes this podcast truly uncanny and so interesting. The stories are eery and believable. The guest hosts are respectable and add to the podcast, but Chris’s pragmatic reasons or views drive me crazy lol. I absolutely detest the theme song and every time I hear her voice, I cringe. Sorry. ;) I love this podcast but the song. Great job and thank you.

    Love it!
    Consistent and great content
  • SirRHP
    Excellent, Balanced Approach
This is by the far the most thoughtful exploration of the paranormal that I’ve encountered on a podcast thus far (without sacrificing the scare factor). Highly recommended!
  • Maude The Third
    Breathlessness is irritating
The testimonies of the subjects and the explanations by analysts are great. The host is a bit of a ham who has to “step outside for fresh air” every episode from just listening to the story of a very composed interviewee. The breathless, melodramatic intervals of narration break the subtle, intriguing mood.
  • oldjohnhall
    Lol model and influencer
    Haha Otherwise a fine podcast
  • Momof4inDallas
The SCARIEST paranormal podcast by far!
I listen to many paranormal podcasts on a regular basis and this is the only one that makes me jumpy and creeped out! Keep up the wonderful content!

    Here’s a Podcast to Emulate!
    1) A fascinating variety of characters, situations, and evaluative commentary. 2) A variety of age groups and voice types facilitates easy comprehension of events. 3) Later episodes return with relevant updates containing additional witnesses to the puzzling events.
  • HallyBean
    Brilliant!
Another diamond by Mr. Robins! Proper research, well written and compelling! I wasn’t sure how was going to better Battersea, but he found a way! Xx
