imperatrica101One of my favorites!I LOVE this podcast! Kristen is so wise and experienced, and has a lot of great knowledge about all things pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. So thankful that she shares that wisdom and research in this podcast! I’m not even pregnant (have two littles of my own) and I still enjoy listening! Thanks for the great info!

Badgers momSUCH A GREAT LISTEN!I love this podcast so much. Very insightful and I can’t recommend to my clients.

MirMirOnTheWall3Interesting topics, and great resourcesI’m really particular about my birth podcasts. I think I tried out all the others before I ended up here. The thing I like about this one is the focus on wellness for both mom and baby. I’m a bit of a holistic nut so it’s refreshing to hear someone who is so like minded. With other podcasts I ran into a lot of political stuff or things that rubbed me the wrong way. I like that she’s Christian and does connect baby growing with a creator. I don’t think the two can be separated. It’s a super spiritual experience. I am impressed on her knowledge of everything pregnancy and labor. I’ll be listening my remaining 6 months to soak up all her knowledge.

SSJ89Well-researched and informative podcast** UPDATE: I am so glad Kristen is back with great content. I am thoroughly enjoying her podcast and to those reviewers who say she rambles, I kindly recommend for you to take the time to actually listen and focus on what she is saying. If you are planning to give birth (ever), you will most certainly benefit from Kristen’s wisdom and insight on this important subject. I take Kristen along for my solo walks or listen while doing housework without my kids nearby — you truly need to be able to focus to receive the maximum benefit of this incredible content. ** I have been enjoying this podcast very much, but sadly, it appears as though it is no longer active. Truly a bummer because this is my favorite of all of the educational pregnancy and birth podcasts. I really enjoyed the series on VBACs, as that is a topic near and dear to my heart. It was very informative and well-done. I also love and appreciate that Kristen places such a huge emphasis on the proper diet and nutrition during pregnancy. It matters!! I do hope she has not closed this chapter in her life and continues to release new content. She has a gift for presenting the information in an engaging and encouraging manner. All the best to Kristen and her lovely family.

tu95mDoesn’t offer solutionsTitles podcast how to xyz but then after you waste 30 minutes of your life listening to nothing about discussing the problem, the solution is, “tune into my master class”. I’ve now listened to multiple episodes now where the actual solution isn’t addressed.

lshane13MediocreI found Kristen’s solo episodes to be somewhat rambling and lacking in useful information. Her language is heteronormative and not inclusive of LGBTQ couples. I was looking forward to her episode on the Partner’s role in childbirth, and found it very disappointing and filled with stereotypes. I think there are much better podcasts about pregnancy and childbirth out there that are more worth your time!

EloiseThe#1CatDisappointing viewsI started out really enjoying this podcast, but as I got more into it I started to notice hints that Kristen’s beliefs were hypocritical and backwards. Eventually, I got to an episode where she advocated against trans-inclusive language in the birthing world (even using the word “agenda” as a scary term). She also said she is “not a feminist at all” while her whole podcast and that specific episode was about advocating for women and the power of women. She is promoting the gains of feminism while rejecting the movement. I can no longer listen to this podcast and will be listening to more inclusive sources of information instead.

mama to 6 and doulaTy!!This has been my absolute favorite birth podcast for the past 7years. I am a mom of 6 and doula myself and always learning from Kristen. Ty so much for continuing to educate us all!!!

VPerrinSo informative! From conception to motherhood this podcast has been so informative👍🏾

TheFightGardenThis is a FANTASTIC podcast. It's so informative!!! I was looking for a pregnancy/healthy baby podcast and stumbled across this ABSOLUTE GEM. In the beginning as with any new information source, I did my due dilligence and double-checked her facts and findings--and I love the fact that her information and advice is grounded in science/medicine. I also love that, while she is firm in her faith and beliefs, she does not push them unneccessarily on the listener, and instead keeps it to the facts (or at least notes when she's speaking her opinion--and she keeps these limited). I am a non-binary Pagan practitioner and the only thing I've (mildly) bristled at is the use of gendered/binary/cisgender-heterosexual normative language--but this is simply a matter of opinion, and I don't believe that it deters from the facts being presented. As to everything with her family--I can't imagine having to go through all of that, and can only hope that a path for justice is presented for her and her children. Knowing this about her does not, in my opinion, negatively influence my perception of her or her ability to effectively educate. VERY much recommended podcast--I'm constantly calling/talking to my partner about each episode. Thank you so much for this!

GraceNoteMamaFantastic podcast!I have learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed this podcast! I was looking for something on natural child birth without all of the more New Age things mixed in. Something that would give me lots of practical knowledge about my body, my baby’s body, and what is best for both of us! This is it! Thank you Kristen!
-
caresal93I can’t believe I ever listenedI googled Kristen burgess recently and was disgusted by a article I found about her husband Scott and her stance on how restorative justice should be applied to him. . . I use to think this women had integrity and could be trust worthy.... I’ll never listen to another episode again.

AustineepooFirst time mom lifesaverHaving Kristen’s podcasts to listen to and learn from has been priceless to me. I’ve learned so much more from her than any doctor or OB.
-
Catterfly3Just thank youThis is the podcast I’ve been looking for. After a recent traumatic twin pregnancy loss, I have experienced a new desire to take the power back over my health and my body. I’ve been listening to this podcast now as much as I can and it is affirming everything I’ve been feeling about living life naturally and on my own terms. Im even more inspired now to make positive changes in the way our family lives, and looking forward to conceiving again... and this time choosing the home birth route. Woman power all the way :)

mapolryLove but where did she go?I love this podcast but Kristen seems to have disappeared over the last year. What happened!?
-
Laura NOLANot my favorite birth podcastI like the episodes with the guests, but the other ones are more rambling without as much information as I like.
-
LoveitjjtcatInformative, grounding and encouraging!Love this podcast. It has been so helpful through so many rough seasons and I am grateful! Would love to see more episodes that involve her faith, aka Jesus, and have that viewpoint. Also, an episode on “mommy’s toolbox” would be so helpful. So often parenting is harder just because you get in the moment with whatever situation with your child, and you can’t figure out which “tool” to use with them to make a positive change in said situation. Thank you for this podcast! ❤️

NurseMommaWifeGreat information and motivationI’ve been using the Birth, Baby and Life podcast as the sound track to my daily walks as I’m pregnant and preparing for baby #4. These podcasts are full of information on nutrition, self care and all that comes with “birth, baby and life” and I’m so thankful to have found them.
-
Mamma ray! Thanks for the positivity!Just found this podcast & heard the one on avoiding induction. Loved her knowledge, passion & enthusiasm for advocating for women to be supported in pregnancy & birth & cant wait to hear more.
-
Mali HartInsightfulThank you for putting out this podcast with information and insights women need to hear about pregnancy, childbirth, and taking care of a baby. Your podcast “What nobody tells you about cesarean sections” is a must-listen for all women to listen to

NichelleFGGreat content always! As a chiropractor and personal trainer, specialized in prenatal and postpartum care, along with a being a doula and mom of 2, I highly recommend this podcast! Always great content with such variety. I like the mix of the host talking based on experience and her background in midwifery, along with having guests. The content is great and really was appreciated as I prepared for my second birth!

Amanda from MassachusettsVery informative and motivational!I heard about your podcast in a Facebook group for foreign mothers in Istanbul. I became pregnant (first timer) soon after relocating to Turkey. Being in a new country and in a new situation of being pregnant, I wanted more information about natural birth and someone in that group suggested your podcast! The place that I live in Turkey is a bit more old fashioned and the foreigner community is almost non-existent. Even though I know Turkish quite well, I needed support from someone that was updated and supportive of natural birth (I have heard c-sections are often done here for “no reason”). I have received a ton of support and motivation from your podcast. Even about things that I didn’t think about before but are in fact, important to know. It’s helping me explain things better to my husband also since this is a first time thing for him too. I should add that he is very supportive of me and my labor decisions and never questions me about it. The females in his family are, again, old fashioned and not very well informed. Even though they have given birth or had c-sections. They freaked out when I continued to go to the gym, and I’m still only 13 weeks along. Husband at least, thank god, has confidence in me. It’s very sad how many people see being pregnant as a medical disability. I think I remember you mentioning this in an episode as well. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and information with the world! :)

SeebirdflysA very educational podcast!I do not have kids, nor am I pregnant, but I am in the process of learning everything I can! This podcast is a must-have in your childbirth and child rearing education. Thank you for having this podcast available! I love it!
-
NYCPodcastLoverNoI stopped listening to one episode after she said, "I'm not a feminist..." despite running a clearly female-centric podcast. Ain't nobody got time for that.
-
BigDude123Worth a listenI have mixed feelings about this podcast. I've listened to almost every episode and I like the natural perspective offered. However, it concerns me that the host doesn't really have qualifications to be sharing the advice she chooses to share. I think that listeners just need to be aware of this fact. Overall, I have enjoyed listening for the most part and appreciate having this resource available to me as a new mom.
-
LovingIt2014Amazing podcast! Extremely encouraging.I am so happy I've stumbled across this podcast. I only wish I'd have found it while pregnant and I very likely would have avoided a c-section. I'm not pregnant now nor TTC, but I continue to listen because Kristin is so loving, knowledgeable, positive, encouraging, and inspirational. This podcast is giving me confidence that when the times comes, I believe I will be prepared to have the birth both I and my baby deserve.

Tinman2112Dads, listen up!I'm an avid podcast and audiobook listener and recently found out that we have a son on the way! I tried listening to a few others and they felt sales-y or HEAVILY edited. This is neither and she is a wealth of knowledge and experience. She covers a wide range of topics and each episode is a mini-deep dive into each. All of the advice I've either immediately applied with my wife and it works (e.g. More healthy fats for energy) or it rings true from a voice of experience. The only thing I'd say is that it's slightly slower paced than I'm used to, so I listen on 1.5x speed and it's PERFECT. It has the added benefit of allowing me to go through a lot of episodes quickly. The only problem being that I can't seem to take notes fast enough. Too much excellent content!
-
MrsO2012Inspirational and InformativeKristen discusses so many important topics about parenting and family, as well as birthing. It feels like your best friend is talking to you on a personal and honest level about having a natural birth experience. She's inspiring for women and mothers and her positivity is infectious. Not all topics suit my lifestyle, but I listen anyhow because she is so knowledgeable. My favorite podcast. Kristin your podcast is wonderful!
-
AltheebeeThank you!I will keep this short but sweet- Kristen is a font of knowledge. Her dedication on bringing us such great podcasts on topics that I haven't seen covered anywhere else have helped me prepare for baby as a first time mom.
-
Batool NycHighly informativeThanks for all the valuable information you share on this podcast. Traditional practices and cutting edge science are both presented to mothers and mothers to enable them to make informed decisions.

LizzieIBSGreat resource for natural pregnancy and birthKristen has a great variety of episodes relating to life before, during, and after birth. Fabulous information from a birth teacher and mom of many.

MarissaThompson321Easy to understand, vital info for expecting momsI began listening as a newly pregnant first-time mom. Kirsten's clear, research-based explanations of how to have a healthy pregnancy were practical and made sense to me. So I kept listening. Though not always the mainstream advice one might get from an OBGYN, her recommendations for birth and postpartum were a natural fit with the kinds of choices my family makes. I credit this podcast (and the MamaBaby Birthing course) with equipping me to have a natural birth experience that I loved and can't wait to experience again—and a healthy, happy little one! This podcast is my number one recommendation when pregnant friends ask for resources.

LivelyurselfAvoid Induction of LaborAvoid Induction of Labor- this podcast was great! very informative and inspirational. The podcast on preparing your dog for baby seemed very unprepared...maybe b/c of what was going on at the time in Kristen personal life. I did follow the links to get more information about preparing you dog, it was great topic to address, unfortunately they just kind of talked in circles. Instead of sitting through that one, just get the resources and go to the website of author interviewed. Excited to listen to more, and to find more great gems like the podcast on Induction.

Kiwi3.142Favorite pregnancy podcastThis podcast has been the most helpful and calming pregnancy podcast I have found, as I prepare for a natural birth at home. I appreciate it so much; thank you!!

AllisonJHuffman1980An endorsement from a mental health therapistI find this podcast to be informative, empowering, and affirming to different perspectives. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a specialty in pregnancy/postpartum talk therapy and I recommend this podcast to my clients.

mzamelA wonderful and comprehensive resourceHighly recommended podcast for soon to be parents. I can't even describe how much my wife and I have learned about caring for baby from listening to the podcast. Thank you Kristin for doing it. Keep up the great work.
-
Firstbaby2016Helps me feel more prepared, excited to give birthI have very little in common with the host, Kristen, but I think that is great because I learn so much from hearing her perspective. I really appreciate her positive attitude. I'm sure she is smiling much of the time. She's helped me feel a lot more excited about the birthing experience.
-
Acinne10Truly NaturalI LOVE this podcast. If you are a home birthing, breast feeding, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, baby wearing, natural mama (or you want to be) this is for you! And even if you're not, the host is so wonderfully open minded and non-judgmental about all of the choices parents have to make. She is calm and empowering. Her birth stories have been a huge source of inspiration to me during my first pregnancy. Knowing that birth does not have to be scary and painful is such a comfort.
-
soycaribeWhat an invaluable guide this podcast has been!I am 31 weeks expecting my first child and I'm so thankful I found this podcast early on! What an invaluable guide it has been! She has empowered me to get in touch with my innate ability to birth and even if the unexpected happens I feel more prepared and educated to make my wishes known and honored! Thank you so much!
-
TmstageLove it!Love this podcast! I have been flying through the episodes and looking forward to listening to more as they come out!

Hannah from ColoradoWhat I love about this Podcast...Kristen is able to gather and distil a LOT of information on each topic and bring it to her audience in a way that we get to listen, mull over, and digest it. Doctors will give you some information (in their limited time during appointments) friends will give you other information (from their experience, and what they've heard) and the internet will provide whatever you search (and you need to determine what information is worthwhile) but Kristen will give you information from MANY sources and give her thoughts on it too. Rather than telling you what to think or believe, she helps you to have access to information to assess for yourself. That's what *I* want, and I find helpful!
-
setikinsLearning so much!I just started this podcast and have learned so many valuable tips on diet and how to feed my very picky baby.
-
ChrisrollinsGreat content and information!Great listen for all expecting parents. Especially for Dad's!
-
Harms'Hugely helpfulI stumbled upon Kristin's podcast when pregnant with my first baby, and it was honestly revolutionary for me. I was fearful about the changes that would take place during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, but Kristin has such a positive outlook and communicates in a clear and empowering way. I most appreciate the information she discusses on how to help your body work best on its own, but also when and where to turn if you need assistance. My only wish is there was more tips and info about the newborn stage, particularly in regard to infant sleep (when your baby isn't a "naturally" good sleeper!) :)
-
GhytrewqdvjikbgdfgjThe very best mama/baby podcastKristen is so positive and supportive. She helps mamas prepare for natural delivery and parenthood by generously sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience. She truly wants to empower mothers and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to have an optimal birth experience. I can't get enough of her podcast and eagerly await each episode. Her classes are great too!!
-
ilaria7Love the birth tipsThe episode on How to Avoid Induction was awesome. I especially liked the first 20 minutes, when Kristen really drives home the fact that mothers need to take responsibility for their baby, their body, their pregnancy. Don’t let external pressure or fear tactics take away your ability to make choices for yourself!
-
KyeiwaagloverThank you KristenI haven't heard any new podcasts in a while so maybe a review will bring you out of hiding! I know you're so busy but I have to say, all the hard work you've put into your podcasts is much appreciated. I have not gotten pregnant yet but as I wait faithfully, I enjoy listening to your soothing voice and interesting topics. I pray I can have a beautiful and healthy pregnancy and birth and with all your tips, I know I will be prepared! You're such an inspiration to me and I truly admire you Kristen! Thank you and God bless you.
