    What happened?
I’ve been gone from this pod for a little over a year. I remembered it, looking forward to more spooky, well crafted stories with moody music. I started with the newest stories and am 4 in… what happened? ☹️

    What happened??
I joined the Patreon because this show was so different, so intelligent, so atmospheric, and so professionally voiced. This Grim Reaper episode was schlock. I figured it out 2 minutes in. No offense to Mr. DuFort, but he is perfect for Creepy, and totally unsuited for this broadcast. If this continues, I’ll be dropping my Patreon and looking for something new to support

    Good stories
Getting tired of everything being lgbtq+ though.

    Quality stories & production
There are quite a few horror/suspense podcasts and most don’t live up to the hype. This one goes above and beyond. The stories are unique and well developed. The voices, sound quality, and soundtrack are all first rate.

    Had to change my rating
Everything is super anti Christian, pro gay; gets old.
  • My name is Dave peeps
Your voice in episode one is sooooo annoying
Thanks a lot man for making it so I can’t even listen. Why are you doing that with your voice you little pedo

    Low key engrossing horror
This wasn’t quite what I expected, the stories really take their time developing context and characters, it’s really unique I feel like among horror podcasts.

    …great stories…but…
What’s with the whispering soft narrator? Gets super annoying after awhile.

Not what I expected but I’m addicted
I enjoy paranormal and horror style podcasts like the antiaquarium of sinister happens and this podcast was recommended. I’m only about 10 episodes in (March 2021, as of writing this) and just listened to The Long Weekend. Each story is thrilling and suspenseful but you never quite know what your going to get. That’s what makes this podcast so different. Highly recommend and I’ve been recommending it to friends.

    Love this show
What not to love about a good story. The narrators are awesome and story the stories are absolutely captivating. It’s a must hear podcast.

    Credit given
4 stars because this pod was superb but recently seemed to decline in quality. The more recent episodes have themes which are quite obtuse and meandering. The recent plots seem disconnected from the characters themselves…it is dangerously bordering on self-indulgent. Sticking with it in hopes it returns to its former glory.

One of the best horror anthologies

    Used to be good
I really don’t like this podcast anymore. It’s just so stupid.

    Wow
I hardly leave reviews but I needed to for this …. Episode 1 had me and by the end of episode 2 I was hooked . Very well put together and can’t wait to keep listening .

    Love the stories!!
I came here from the Olive Hill podcast (which I loved) and I’m really enjoying this. I’m a licensed massage therapist and I listen while massaging to make the day pass by and to keep my mind on something. One of my all time favorite podcasts is Borrasca with Cole Sprouse and Ian sounds just like him!! Sometimes I forget I’m not listening to Cole! Keep up the good work. Whitney

    Great
Amazing production and great storytelling!! Love it! Found you thru scare me to sleep thanks Shelby!!
  • Not-fun
    Wasted potential
If youre here to be spooked, you're out of luck past the first 2 episodes. If youre here to jerk off, you might find the overwhelmingly christian backdrop of most episodes a mood killer. This podcast doesnt know who it is or what it wants to be and listeners suffer for their lack of development. Me, i came here for horror not softcore porn and midwest church anxiety. What a fool i was.

    Great story telling!
I’ve only just finished the 3rd episode but I’m writing this review because the names they chose for the two boys who took the girls to prom are mine and my brothers names and I thought that was hilarious! Im throughly enjoying the story telling and will be listening to more!

    Very good; life changing
This show was recommended to me by my wife. She knows that I appreciate horror but that I don’t always care for jump scares and gratuitous amounts of violence. I checked out Thirteen and it was incredible; it’s the exact genre of horror I didn’t know I’d been looking for. I ran to tell my wife about an episode and suddenly, I remembered: my wife died 13 years ago—long before this podcast was ever established.

    Good Show
I look forward to this every month!

    Meh
This podcast is hit or miss with more misses than hits as it continues. I find the narrator with the southern accent to be irritating and I’m from the south 🤷🏻‍♀️

    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the stories….. except the ones narrated by the girl who did shrieking willow

    The Light Under the Door
I love this show, I’ve heard every episode. But Ian, this episode got me!!!! All the feels. Love you guys. Thanks for the great content.

    Might be good
The background music ruins the series. Some have commented that it get better so I listened to a recent episode - nope - music is still terribly distracting.

    Love this show!
Found this show through Scare you to Sleep pod. It is soooooo good! I’m binging from the beginning. The recordings are really really low volume. Hoping as I catch up to newer episodes the volume has increased.

    SUCH a good show!
Found this through OGOA and Im enjoying it very much! Incredibly well produced and very good stories.
  • sarpod44444
    Love love love.
This podcast is perfect, except that there aren't nearly enough episodes 🥹 the music is subtle and adds so much to each story, and I'm not even a fan of music in my horror fiction. I've listened to some of these over and over. They're always creepy without being the kind of eldritch horror that keeps me awake. Ps. Can y'all have Bridgett narrate more stories? Something about the Appalachian accent is just so soothing!

    Started good….
Started good but quickly devolved into a trashy romance novel. I like sex as much as anyone else but geez guys cmon. It was a creepy ghost podcast that turned into soft core sex in every show.
  • Mel kenny
Weird and goofy guitar background music
The beginning background music can be way too loud and distracting, it sounds off. Takes you out of the story. Gets better as the stories unfold.
  • sweet shug
    Love it!!
So far so good! I love these stories! “The last phone booth in my town rings at 1am” is my fav so far!
  • BWalk2007
Mostly a bit, but with some issues.
First off, I love this podcast. The 3 creators and voice actors are legitimately good at what they’re doing. The concept is pretty unique in the genre and if I scored this off personal enjoyment, it would be 5 stars. The problem is some of the stories are not good. There’s a substantial portion of the stories that are written by fan submission, and they are mostly not the quality of more “professionally” written ones. So a couple of episodes are a CHORE to get through. But when you hit ones like Barrier Islands or Meeting House it’s gold.

    Quality on every level
I listen to a lot of these types of podcasts. This is by far the best written and best produced of them all. Classy.

    Wow!
Tangled in the roots was so beautifully created and had my emotions totally invested.

    My new favorite 🙌..
..creepy show! I love this one because of the quality of the stories being told, it’s creepy, strange, thought provoking, not too heavy handed which is sometimes a thing w scary podcasts. This one relies on good, effective, interesting story telling to do the heavy lifting vs gore, obvious outrage scenarios etc. I love it!! Sharing this one all around👍👍
  • Original Roman
    AMAZING!!!
Soooo different than true crime for a break… Some of the best story tellers I’ve ever heard and I love the way the stories leave you hanging almost but not like normal where you feel speechless like you’re dying for another sentence or two…it’s just time for the tale to end!! And each story leaves you thinking about YOUR interpretation of what happened in the end…. Love it as y’all put the listener in the old deli store, or in the parsonage, or wherever the story takes place…unbelievable!!!! Keep it up!!
  • kh5021
    Excellent stories
I heard about this podcast from “Ghosts in the Burbs.” It is just what I was looking for. Creepy, interesting stories that keep my attention from start to finish. You get the fright without all the annoying talking that most scary podcasts have. Give it a try!!
  • pinkdolphingirl
    Spectacular!
I just found this podcast & am addicted already! I don’t know what I’ll do when I’m all caught up & have to wait a month between episodes😬 Keep up the great work!

    Slow and boring
I have to tell the truth about Thirteen. It is like listening to a Hallmark movie rather than a horror story or suspenseful podcast. The quality of the writing is pedestrian , to be kind. The background music is monotonous and detracts from the narration. The story progresses so slowly that l couldn’t stand more than three episodes. I can listen to almost anything while cleaning but not this!

    The meeting house
Wonderful, just mesmerizing. So good. Wish this was a weekly….love it.The voices are perfect. Weekly would be great instead of monthly.

    Prejudiced against Christians?
These stories used to be more even handed on the subject of religion, but over time it feels as if it’s getting more one sided. For example, the “religious trauma” logo in the merchandise. I still like most of the stories, but the prejudice (if that’s what it is) takes me out of it.
  • Dominic Hendryx
    Zero stars
Almost unlistenable with the heavy handed, over the top, religious subtexts and allegories.
  • newamerykahn
season one is amazing, others not so much
I loved the first season short stories. They reminded me of true macabre horror stories with elements of supernatural and suspense that built up to a satisfying climax. The sound effects also added to the scene and kept you in a state of anxiety along with the characters. Over the past year (2022) however, the offerings have been very lackluster. I have not heard one memorable story this season, and the subject matter is very very mild when it comes to the horror. The latest part 3 episode about the happenings centered around a church are drawn out for reasons unbeknownst to me. Nothing exciting happens and this reads more like a #MeToo article with some mild mention of demons, which doesn’t really get explored at all. If the next story is as bad as the current season I’m going to have to unfollow.

    Great storytellers
This is one of (if not my) favorite podcasts. I love the stories told. I’ve recently relistened to all of them, and I didn’t notice before but some of the episodes have a nice nod towards previous episodes. You don’t have to listen to them in order. But the little clues from previous episodes make more sense when you listen in order. I am really digging these weekly episodes. I wish there were more. Also I love that they keep all the ads, and show announcements at the beginning so you don’t have to hear them throughout the episode.

    Absolutely adore this spooky pod
Every episode is atmospheric and hits all my spooky and scary itches. Definitely worth a listen for every fan of scary stories.
