Didi did itIt’s all about the journeyThis is hands-down the best pickleball podcast out there. There are plenty of them to choose from, but if you want to get the most out of your pickleball journey you must listen to this one. The quality of your journey is largely dependent upon what’s going on in your mind, and Coach Tony’s analysis of how we talk to ourselves and how it impacts our game as well as our overall experience is full of gems. My mind is now stocked with many “Tony-isms” that have totally revamped how I approach the game! Thanks coach!

Karla_GMindsetI've been playing for a few years and still at 2.5-3.0 level. I have watched & listen to the Better Pickleball content, mainly on YouTube. It's hard not to compare myself but I don't play but once or twice a week. I really appreciate the realness and reality but positive thinking and moving. Love that some info is tailored to a mature player 😊

VlsbedfordMountainLove this podcast! It is a great reminder of why we play pickleball and to remember how much fun it is to meet new people, try new shots, get in some exercise and enjoy our friendships. Tony once recommended my partner and I to tap paddles after every shot which was key in managing our stress during tournaments. Games became less stressful and we fed off the positivity energy of each other. Pickleball is fun at all ages and it is important to remember that.

teamtomHighly recommended! The host, Tony, and sometimes host CJ are great coaches and very realistic with their advice as well as their insight into how most of us should be approaching Pickleball. I look forward to the episode each week and find the show to be thought-provoking and entertaining, which is a rare combination thank you for a great show Tony.

Jesus W. ChristHot air nonsenseI don’t understand why he is speaking words. It’s just a bunch of nonsense words usually. At best the same idea, maybe it’s a nugget, but it is on repeat for the entire thing without elaboration.. I’ve listened to several. So bad. Just bad.

Chell SaintGame-Changing Thoughts and StrategiesIf you want to improve your pickleball game, start here. A huge part of your wins/losses have to do with what’s between your ears—your mind. How do you perceive your game and your opponent’s game? When you miss an ‘easy’ shot, how do you stay positive? Where should you aim your shot? How do you keep your partner positive? Tony Roig is a master teacher. By listening to his coaching, and embracing his concepts, your game will improve. What player doesn’t want that?

Med student slaveThanks TonyThank you Tony for this awesome podcast. I also enjoy your content on YouTube. getting my mind in the right state is at least half of the importance for the game of Pickleball and you do a great job explaining this.
-
CwhitekhcGreat reminderI always appreciate how Tony has a way to remind me how to get the most out of the game.

bothata1Always a great show, new title?Hi Tony. I heard on your show today that you welcome any ideas about how to help other players find you guys better and any suggestions we might have about the show. It’s always full of mature, helpful ideas to reflect on in terms of the inner game for sure. I think a lot of people value that, but the word “therapy” may be offputting for some. People often go to a therapist when they’re in a very bad mental or emotional place and really needing help. So it may have too much of a negative connotation for some folks I don’t know. If the show was called something about the mental game, the inner game, playing your best game or something like that maybe that would help? Just throwing it out there. Cheers, Chris Allan.

HuntAmaFWGot us over the humpWe did not realize how important the mental game was until we started listening to your podcasts. We incorporated many of your ideas into our practice and games and it has made a BIG difference. During stressful matches we will tell each other a key podcast thought and that immediately recenters us back to a good place. Our play has improved and we believe your podcast was a significant reason. Thank you

CiclfoIncredibly Helpful for my gamePickleball Therapy has made a tremendous difference for me with my game. I listen to it every week and often will relisten to certain podcasts when driving to my pickleball courts to help to mentally prepare for my games. Tony is clear, concise, and has a no-nonsense way to tackle topics related to the game of pickleball. I have recently joined The Pickleball System this past March and am attending the Better Pickleball Camp in New York City as I write this. My game is improving all around and I am a believer!

shxhroxbavejcksbwGrounding Yourself in RealityTony’s latest episode was spot on. Living in and primarily playing pickleball in an active 55+ community, how one plays one day can be significantly different the next. Injuries happen and as we age , the time to heal increases, which contributes to how well (or not) we play. Tony’s thoughts on sharing pickleball are also correct and inspiring. Our club has grown from slightly over 20 members to 55, which is over 10% of the community. Pickleball is a great social activity to help others who could otherwise be isolated.

RDL DMD MSThe mental side of pickleballTony’s podcasts always reflect a way to make pickleball remain fun whether you’re competitive or just a recreational player. Win or lose isn’t the issue. How you deal with your play is a lifelong mental journey.

PTB5Love pickleball therepyI really have enjoyed this pod cast. Having not come from a sports background Tony has helped me understand the foundation of pickleball, objectives then strategy for those objectives. Because of that I can play intentionally and less reactive. First it starts with realizing what I could have done differently or what I did do and then I’m able to work on correcting it. Thank you Tony.

Jeff-RenshawTop notch podcast for pickleball (and life) improvementPT is my weekly “can’t miss” podcast. The themes Coach Tony teaches have greatly benefitted my mental approach to both pickleball and everyday life. I listen to new releases as they’re published, and flag my favorites to re-listen to on the way to the court. They help me process the game in a way I wouldn’t be able to otherwise - providing a mental and strategic framework that makes a complicated game make sense. As a result, I enjoy the game more and most days on the court feel like they happen in slow motion. Really grateful for the consistent and no frills approach to teaching the game. Thank you, Tony!

edgjkncxdeyjgfAuthentic and sincereI’ve never played organized sports so I was surprised when I took a liking to pickleball now in my 60s. Because I have no sport or athletic background, I really have nothing to pull from to help me learn how to be a better player. After all, the social aspect is fun, but I’d really like to be a better partner in my games. So I’ve taken lessons, done classes, watched lots of Youtube videos and tried to figure out how to get better. But I was still stuck. I enjoyed Tony and CJ’s Youtube videos and ended up taking their Win More workshop this March (2024). I kept hearing about Pickleball Therapy and the Pickleball System. Considering the money I’d put into lessons, I figured why not try the Pickleball System. For the first time, I’m beginning to understand the game, how to diagnose myself, take small steps, and finally make real progress. But this is about the podcast — the icing on the cake!! Every episode fills in another piece of the puzzle that is becoming an athlete. Tony’s authenticity as a teacher and athlete helps me make the connection between my normal life and my life as a pickleball player. If I’d been listening to Pickleball Therapy during the (worldwide event that shall be unspoken), I might have saved some money on counseling :) What particularly impresses me is the cohesiveness of Tony and CJ’s messages — strong threads of self-awareness, patience, and perspective without becoming repetitive or boring. Thanks for all you do!

sunvivor#1IntentionalityRecently a fellow Pickler turned me on to this podcast, and now it has become a intentional listening activity that I do especially before I go to do my league play games. I also re-listen when I feel like I’m hitting a plateau. This is definitely with the time to pause and listen with intentionality… Keep up the great work!! Seattle Sea-Shore Pickleball League loves you guys!!

LalindiaOne long advertI used to love this podcast but it has devolved into just being one enormous advert for the pickleball system, which for a while I considered joining, but if you have to spend this much time advertising it it’s probably not worth it. Unfollow. What a shame.

Redeft12778Helps my gameExcellent podcast! Tony has deepened both my understanding and appreciation of the game. Listening to this podcast has dramatically improved the mental side of my game. I have never played a sport competitively and did not have the tools to work on my mental game, nor the understanding of how important it is. Thanks to Tony I am better prepared to deal with the frustrations and setbacks. As a result I am having a lot more fun. I got my ice cream today 😁

Tew1111So good, I listened to the entire back catalogPickleball Therapy is unique in that it covers the mental side of the game, not the latest paddle or professional drama. It’s perfect for players of all levels to ensure you’ll always enjoy playing the game you’ve come to love. The podcast covers a wide range of topics, including: - How to overcome mental roadblocks - How to stay focused under pressure - How to develop a winning mindset - How to build confidence - How to deal with setbacks The host, Tony Roig, is a certified mental coach for pickleball players and he has helped countless players improve their mental game and reach their full potential on the court.

jdhojnackiMental Game Must-ListenThere are a lot of pickleball podcasts covering the pros, mechanics, gear, and other aspects of the game but Pickleball Therapy is my favorite because it focuses exclusively on the mental game, which is where I need the most help. Tony does a great job picking topics and the episodes are just the right length.

WoodyasRevelatoryEasily one of the best podcast on Pickleball. Tony is salient, cogent, and full of real world insights that are enormously beneficial. Put simply: I look forward to his acumen each week. My only complaint: I wish they were longer! They end way too soon. Keep up the good work!

Suzannah TroyGood content, I can't stand opening w/ phone ringingupdate listened to metrics new podcast. It was excellent and thanks for addressing my concern. I think it was a really, really intelligent response about reframing in response to this: The content is for the most part really good but I can't stand how this podcast show starts with the phone ringing and it's pertinent to the creator but as a consumer I want to relax I don't wanna hear that sound. I want to listen... I want to learn. It's surprising how many podcast on Apple iTunes have a very annoying or stressful openings to their shows. I think it's obvious the public is inundated for too much stimulus!
-

Ringgold Fleck24Pickleball Therapy is a MUST listenif you are interested in improving your mental and physical Pickleball game! Tony is great at giving great insightful mindset tips for Pickleball as well as teaching the much larger picture about competing, learning, and honoring the game itself. I’ve found that many of the podcasts have helped me find perspective in my day to day life about gratitude for the life I get to live and being able to be out on a court with lots of people I would never have met without playing this great sport. Intentionality of my day and play has greatly improved my life!

Fiber farmHow to play with a partner that’s not playing right.Liked his advice about your partner not moving to the NVZ on the return of serve. I find it ironic that they always are up to the NVZ when I receive the serve. I will follow Tonys advice and stay at the baseline with them.

CuteswimmerHelp with PB Inner CriticEverything CJ & Tony do is a great for my pickleball game! The podcast is always a thoughtful presentation filled with sound advice. I look forward to listening to each episode! I was particularly taken by episode 97, it was meant for me! My inner critic can ruin a day of pickleball play, and people have told me before not be too hard on myself… But, nobody has ever offered any constructive ways to actually do that and be calm on the court. The five tips on how to be positive and not let that inner critic ruin a day of pickleball are super helpful. Thank you Tony!

PB WomanSo helpful!I just discovered your podcasts and have been listening to them from newest back to oldest. I'm back to October 2021 (can't stop listening) and just really wanted to thank you. I just started listening a week ago and already I have noticed differences in my game. Things I knew just started making sense as far as incorporating them into my game. I have been playing for 6 years and have the fundamentals, but I forget to use them. Thanks again for your fabulous insights and tips.
