empennage1Informational Hawaii PodcastThis podcast is a great source of information for Hawaii travel. The main host sounds like a regular dude, and makes listening an easy thing to do. Keep it up!

JJqponGreat informative show! 🌴☀️🏖️🐠I’ve been listening to this show for about 4 months and figured I’d give it a nice review. Although I didn’t use Bruce to book my trip (I used points and miles because my husband rakes up a ton for business travel) I still find Bruce’s tips timely and informative. I think he is a great podcast talent although he claims not to be! The episodes are short and easily digestible. Love that he closes the show with a shout out to his “beautiful wife Yaling”. I just think that’s so cute and the sign of a good person. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to him and his company for your travel booking needs to Hawaii. He has lived on Hawaii close to 30 years and I believe started his travel company 22 years ago. He knows his stuff!

TheoriginalraidermattVery HelpfulExcellent podcast for newcomers planning vacations, as well as for regular visitors who are just looking for updates on what is going on in Hawaii. Info on hotels, tours, activities, you name it.

B-Mc2011Great, local podcast for HawaiiMy wife and I were 3 weeks from a trip to the UK, except for the fact my wife still didn’t have her renewed passport. The contingency plan was to change flights and go to Hawaii. I found this Podcast and listened as much as possible. Although we ended up making it to the UK, I still find myself listening to this podcast 4 months later. I appreciate all you do, Bruce

vincehamGood, Honest PerspectiveMy family is originally from Hawaii, but we don’t make it back as often as I’d like. HVC is a fun, bite-sized podcast that helps me feel connected to, and a bit updated with, the islands. Keep up the great work Bruce!

No non-taken nickThe Best Hawaii Travel Podcast PeriodBruce and Yaling began this podcast before anyone else was doing a Hawaiian travel podcast. They started their Hawaii-focused travel agency almost 20 years ago. Their depth of knowledge and experience in Hawaiian travel, podcasting, and Hawaii in general makes this by far the best podcast for anyone who is serious about traveling to Hawaii and getting the most out of their trip, and for anyone who is not sure yet and just wants to learn. Bruce is an excellent host with an extensive media background to complement his travel background. This podcast is concise yet comprehensive, Bruce really packs a wealth of essential information into each short weekly show. He covers general topics such as the best sights and activities and specific current developments like airfares and hotel reviews. He and Yaling are experts in these topics since they are both long-time residents and owners of a very successful travel agency that specializes in travel to and within Hawaii. They are also very nice people who really love what they do and enjoy helping people enjoy their beautiful islands. They are very entertaining hosts as well, who make this a fun podcast and not just an informative one. Entertainment should be the main goal of a podcast and this one certainly achieves that. I listen every week even when I am not considering or planning a trip to Hawaii, which is unfortunately most of the time but it is always fun to dream. Listen now and help transport yourself to Hawaii as soon as possible, virtually and actually!

True beast69Best Relaiable Hawaii PodcastLLove this podcast and the tips provided are great. Been to Hawaii many times but Bruce gives me so much more information than I’d find on my own and it’s reliable. Booked a tour with the tour company based on this podcast and it was outstanding—learned lots about the culture and food and more great tips for future trips. Felt first class all the way.

Ferk60Good easy list and great Hawaii primerI took my mom to Hawaii in feb and this podcast was a good easy listen with tons of helpful tips. The host Bruce is well informed and gives a honest/realistic take on Hawaii travel. After listening to the podcast I was able to create full trip plan that we both enjoyed. My only feedback is that I wish the show was longer. 15 minutes is not enough! Bruce is a busy travel agent that focuses on building Hawaii trips but I really wish he'd give us longer podcast. lol

Chris QuickExcellent Vacation Planning ResourceI’ve been binge listening to this podcast as I’m planning our family’s Hawaii vacation. It has tons of helpful information, including current news that might impact your trip and advice about budgeting, transportation, lodging, activities, and more. I also like the values the hosts promote, like being a respectful visitor and seeking out authentic Hawaiian food and cultural experiences. Aloha Bruce has a background in journalism which makes him easy to listen to. Highly recommend.

Incantations446Regular listenerI started listening in 2020 before covid. I enjoy his shows. They are very informative. So informative that I had him book my trip last year. I’ve still been listening into ever since. Had it not been for his info on travel during COVID I might have jumbled up my travel plans. Thank you Aloha Bruce!
-
bikini2bAwesome podcastListen to this BEFORE you book your trip. Lots of excellent advice and fun to listen to as well. I will definitely use them to book my next trip.
-

AnnfhgThe Inside ScoopI’ve been listening for 18 months. After my first visit to Oahu, booked on my own, I realized there was much I didn’t know about Hawaii. Listening to Bruce and Lanai is like having two local friends tell me all I ever wanted to know. I have come to have so much more appreciation for Hawaii. They share so much info—many times I would have had a hard time learning in my own. They have kept my heart warm during cold Wisconsin winters and I am looking forward to my next visit—and am listening to learn more! Aloha

Rangerone0Mostly Good but Some Bad InformationI listen to this podcast every week. Just returned from Hawaii and this weeks had bad information in it. Bruce said that you should not get the wristband at the airport that all you need is to have a QR code. Not true. Even if you have the QR code, you ahve to stand in line when you get to hawaii if you have not already gotten "pre-cleared" and gotten a wrist band. Also, you have to have a QR code to get the wrist band. Our flight attendant told us it can save over 2 hours of time at the airport when you arrive in Hawaii.

Steven from EarthStop the vaccine preachingInteresting podcast but growing tired of all the vaccine talk. It’s one thing to talk about Hawaii’s regulations but it’s annoying listening to constant pushing to get the vaccine. It’s more than a political decision. Some people have health reasons to not get it.

jschris1Great podcast and personBruce is a kind, trustworthy source of information for all of your Hawaii travel needs. With over a decade of content available from the podcast, you are sure to find all the tips and tricks you need for a perfect vacation to Hawaii. And if you don’t find it? Reach out to him directly and he’ll be glad to help. Listeners also get an incredible rate on a great condo in Waikiki!

dndjdjebrlsnsbdGreat show, thanks for doing itI’m an airline pilot and I frequently visit the islands, I’m always interested in what’s going on in the community and in the tourism industry, so this podcast has been informative and entertaining. Thanks again for putting these good vibes out there!

CaptainCurlzGreat Travel Agency! My wife and I stumbled across the podcast when we were planning our 5th anniversary trip to Hawaii. We ended up booking our trip through Hawaii Aloha Travel because of the podcast. We had to reschedule our trip 3 times because of Covid but finally was able to take the trip earlier this month. I can’t imagine having to do all that rescheduling on our own, I am thankful we had this knowledgeable Hawaii based travel agency to help us through the process. We had the best trip!

StayAtHomeDogMom2020Great info for planning a trip!Thank you so much for putting out this podcast! We are looking at a potential trip to the Big Island and Maui next summer, and your podcast has given us lots of great info, ideas, and advice for traveling!! It has been a great listen to see if a Hawaii vacation would be a good fit for our timeline and budget. You asked for questions to answer on your podcast, so here you go: what advice do you have for camping on the Big Island and Maui? Many campers use small gas canisters to heat their meals, but must buy them on-location since canisters can’t travel on planes. How reasonable would it be to buy gas canisters on the islands, or what are your other recommendations for cooking food at Hawaii’s campgrounds? Do you have any favorite camping spots? Again, I look forward to your podcast each week and thank you so much for all of your work! I will definitely keep your company in mind if we are able to visit next Summer!!

KcougarcampBest podcast for HawaiiI am blessed that I am able to visit Hawaii every other year for a few weeks at a time. One of things I love to do is listen to this podcast to help me get in the mood for my trip. They have great tips and if you are going for the first time I would definitely recommend booking through them.
-
GaryinOrindaSome Good Intel...But hard to follow with all of the over-talking. Let each other speak. Let your GUEST speak. Save your interjections and comments for an appropriate time to speak. Sorry but I found it off-putting.

Lydia from Upstate New YorkFor when you can’t make it to Hawaii!I am an 18 year old listening from Buffalo, New York (I listen via Spotify but reviewed on here) I just want to say that I have wanted to go to Hawaii for years but my family doesn’t really have the finances to make the trip atm, so listening to this podcast has really allowed me learn so much about the islands and culture. It is such an enjoyable listen and I can’t wait until the day where I actually can come for myself!
-
chris13950Super helpful!I called in at a busy time, not to do a booking but to ask him a few questions for a research project at school. Aloha Bruce graciously took the time to answer my questions in depth - super appreciative of him for that. The podcast has also been really informative - hoping to book a trip soon!
-
lakernation32Very informative !Love the pod!
-
Dylan Rocks!!Listening for years!Great honest info from people who genuinely love Hawaii. Excellent restaurant and activity recommendations. Often just listen when I need a little aloha in my life!
-
donnarayGreat info from local experts!!We really enjoy listening to Bruce, Yaling & Lanai. Yaling has a beautiful accent & hearing her talk makes us smile! We used to live on Oahu & like hearing them discuss familiar places. We also get helpful tips about new spots to visit & things to do on our annual trip back to the islands! We’ve even had some email conversations with Bruce & Yaling & hope we can meet them when we return to Hawaii in 2021! They seem like such a sweet couple & we know their business is suffering during the pandemic... 🌈Hang in there - better times are ahead!🌴
-
ellentennisI'm learning so muchI love listening to this podcast. I hope you all aren't done creating episodes. I really like to deep dive into information about places I'm going to visit and this podcast is wonderful for that. Plus, I like Bruce's positive and upbeat nature.

The ALs from AtlantaListening from Atlanta, Ga.Just started listening yesterday. Like it so far. I appreciate hearing your views on the various topics even the lost hiker. The information you give is helpful for planning our (my husband and I) cruise to Hawaii. I wish I started listening earlier. We will have to get in touch for excursion advice. Thanks for the podcast.

bani_laineA fan of Aloha Bruce!Hey Bruce!! Ive been listening to ur podcasts ever since “lucky we live hawaii”. So glad ur back with a new podcast! Love lots- lalaine 💖❤️ by the way i think ur sexy 😚😍

SQ TurtleHawaiian Vacation PlanningLove this podcast. Bruce and Lanai are fun to listen to and I am learning a lot about Hawaii before we get there. I’m glad I found this show.
-
ShelliGGreat Podcast! This is a great podcast with lots of personality and awesome information! I love how honest Bruce and Lanai are and how knowledgeable they are!
-
Mrs. KmkUnprofessional & rudeThese two could have an awesome show, but lately have gotten extremely rude in how they convey any tips or information. They definitely have a turned up nose and act as if they, and locals, are way better than anyone else. Also extremely sickening to hear the one gentleman talk about how he thought the lost Hawaii hiker had alternative motives and planned that all out. Even if that were the case, this podcast on Hawaii vacation travels is NOT the place to give such awful accusations towards the poor woman. These two should be ashamed of how they present themselves.
-
RickD11Enjoyable and informativeI’ve listened to many of the episodes. Most podcasts I listen to have a pitch for a product or service. So the mention of their travel and tour services in this podcast is no big deal. I enjoy the podcasts and have learned quite a bit about Hawaii travel. In fact I’m planning a trip for next year!
-
Doc 1023MahaloI enjoyed the show so much that I am using Aloha Bruce and his Ohana to book some of our activities (sorry we didn't find you sooner). Yaling's corner is always a treat. Lanai has taught me the real spirit of Aloha ‘āina. The love of the island is more that just a phrase or simply appreciating the beauty of Hawaii It goes much deeper than that. It is also the love of the people and respecting their culture and traditions. It is a rare language that can encompass so much in so few words. If you can come away with that than I say that this is a great show.
-
depooter70MahaloBruce. I really appreciate the podcast and all the valuable info you continue to share about my favorite place. Mahalo!

Returning SomedayHoneymoonMy wife and I recently returned from our Hawaiian honeymoon which was booked through Hawaii-Aloha Travel. About three years ago I stumbled onto the HAT podcast and that set the stage for planning the trip from which we just returned. HAT did a superb job putting together a wonderfully memorable trip.
-
thescoop1Great podcastI enjoy this podcast and the helpful tips from Aloha Bruce!

WALKEN1974Great ShowFor anyone planning a trip to hawaii this show is informative as well as entertaining.
-
czylExtremely Informative(Note - previous negative comments are obviously not the targeted podcast demographic and their "reviews" should be disregarded.) As a fellow podcast host I am extremely picky when it comes to the podcasts that I listen to. Sound quality, content, entertainment value and consistency are all things I look for in a podcast I subscribe to. I love Hawaii so when you combine my love for the subject matter and the requirements stated above - I must say this podcast is in my top five. I find the idea of a business using this form of media to not only create brand awareness while providing solid information to be absolutely brilliant. Who better to learn about Hawaii from than someone who not only lives there but who's job is to actually encourage travel there? When we decided to plan our next trip to Maui I told my husband I wouldn't hear of using any other travel agency because of the podcast. It helps me get to know Bruce and Yaling as travel agents and lets me know I can trust their suggestions! Keep up the good work!
-
lgpav1Hawaii InfoI have been listening to Bruce for about a year and a half. His podcasts are great to listen to and he provides lots of great information. During our last trip, we used a number of the tips in the podcases to make our last trip much better! Great job Bruce! Your podcast is an asset to the podcasting community!!
-
iwilldieforhimAdvertisements disguised as a podcastUnhelpful and inaccurate information. Esp about where to stay in Maui. The couple runs a travel agency. The podcast is their means to advertise their business. They call themselves "locals", yet he is from Miami and she, Japan. Sorry guys: Living in Hawaii doesn't make you a local, but a whitey that's running a business in Hawaii.
-
Milty1234Nice couple (and co.) just trying to help peopleBruce and Yaling do a great job. Loads of info on Hawaii—their specialty. People may be critical of Yaling but if you give her a chance and get out of your element a little (after all there are more Asians than you on this planet) she and Bruce are very entertaining. Especially if you love Hawaii. If you don't, stay home it's already crowded enough.
-
seagull.girlLove this podcastI am dreaming of a trip to the islands (someday) and this podcast helps me dream. Kudos to Bruce and Yaling for putting out a very informative podcast!
-
MetoraeVery informative podcast about HawaiiI have listened to this podcast and have also follow Bruce's tweets and have actually met Bruce and his wife Yaling on a couple of my trips to Hawaii. I have found this podcast very helpful because they live in Hawaii and are always going out and doing things for example going to events and restaurants and are giving me information that is so interesting. I also appreciate their honesty about what they like and dislike and they really do an interesting podcast in part because they both have so much personality. I must admit if all you want is a travel guide that just lists restaurants this is not what this podcast does, however, I have been following Bruce's podcasts for years and the way that he and Yaling give out information about Hawaii makes the podcast entertaining as well as informative. I realize that they also have a travel company and note that they are giving information to everyone and answer questions for those that may or may not book their trip through their company. For this reason, I don't think that it is fair to knock this podcast because they have a travel company because this podcast is so entertaining and helpful. Keep up the good work Bruce and Yaling!
-
24639What you see is what you getWe had a problem with our return flight from Kauai last year, due to an error by the airline. Yaling was the first human I could get on the phone - neither of the two airlines who fumbled our reservation would answer at 6:30 am on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Let me tell you, her cheerful Chinese accent was the best sound in the world! She couldn't create a seat where none existed, but she got us put up at a fabulous resort with meals paid for by the offending airline. She's just that good, and that concerned about every customer. This podcast is an unvarnished look at the actual human beings who run Hawaii Aloha Travel - the real founders and owners. They're not media pros but they are Hawaii travel experts and they answer the phone personally when you need them.
-
Jonnie SantosDown To Earth And Enjoyable PodcastWe've been to Hawaii 3 times now. The first trip was booked here at home thru an agent and that last two trips I did manually through the Internet with good luck. However listening to the podcast I hear things to do and places to see I wasn't familiar with and that's really helpful. I get a good sense Bruce and Yaling are really interested in people having a good time on their Hawaiian vacation. They both seem very down to Earth and their agency is one I would consider on our next trip.
-
MikeO37Bruce does a good jobI have read some of the reviews and almost didn't d/l the podcast but decided to anyway. I am glad i did, the show is good. First off Bruce makes no bones about the fact that the show is sponsored by his company, he does a little intro and it's no big deal. The content is great, he talks about topic and it very informative. I sampled several shows and I don;t see how this is a commercial for the agency at all, in fact I have heard Bruce say on a few of the shows that he is not telling people to book necessarily with him but with people know the islands. He is basically giving free advice. I don;t fault him for wanting to use the podcast to promote his business, i give him credit. People who are out here dissing Bruce because he is using this as a vehicle to communicate with customers and potential customers really don't get what podcasting is all about. He is putting himself out here, yes sometimes it's raw, but I think thats what makes this a great show and a honest one at that. We need more company owners like this guy!!
