    Fun, informative, the best
This is my go to podcast for book recommendations and all things bookish vibes. Joe and Emma are great at choosing topics and at broadening your horizons about what to read. They line up fabulous author interviews and help you build a fabulous TBR.

    Great pairing with Libby
This podcast helps me add to my TBR (probably too much!). Also love the author interviews.

Fav way to build my TBR
This is my favorite bookish podcast out there and I’ve searched through a lot! I love love love all the hosts and I always leave their monthly roundups with at least 3 additions to my TBR list! I am now going through their backlist and listening to monthly biggest book episodes from last year to get me through the wait for the next. Highly highly recommend.

    Revived Podcast
I love the new hosts along with Jill. The episodes they have been putting out have been so creative and I still enjoy listing to the show every week.

    So enjoyable
Welcome new co-hosts and on a recent vacation absolutely enjoyed getting caught up on your latest episodes! Great job Jill, Emma and Joe! One of my new fav podcasts! 💕👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I used to love this podcast
I didn’t realize how much Adam truly carried this podcast until he left Overdrive. The podcast has changed so much and has continued in a downhill spiral since then. Today, hit rock bottom with your accolades of Verity … This podcast is no longer the place for me.

If you like books, you’ll enjoy this podcast
So excited for Jill to have new cohosts! I enjoyed listening to Emma and Joe when they were on previously. I look forward to hearing more from you all!

    Audio issues galore
There are SO MANY audio issues in this podcast. It comes off super unprofessional and makes it hard to want to listen. Also, the host-only episodes are really meandering and don’t seem to have a point. The host doesn’t have a ton of focus in the host-only episodes and the show definitely suffers. The interview eps are better, but again… THE AUDIO. The Olivia Dade Episode (which made me love Olivia Dade!) sounded like it was recorded on a phone stuck in the host’s pocket while she was on a walk.

    Had such high hopes
I had such high hopes, they were interviewing some really great authors. But when I listened to the few I did try, the audio was terrible. It was like they were sitting in the food court at the mall. I could hear some girl at the next table over ordering Kung POW chicken from the Quik Wok place. The level of professionalism was embarrassingly low. I would never act like that around a famous published author. I get that they have to “fan-girl” but jeez, just act like you been there already. Maybe it’s all an act, but they come across as 2 high schoolers on the forensic team rather than an actual “professional podcaster”. Too bad too, because it’s a good concept. Go ahead and just skip this podcast…. Let’s go Brandon.

Adam’s great, Jill not so much
I usually skip elpsodes with Jill. I’m sure she’s great, she just doesn’t work as a bookish podcast host for me. She gets so giggly all the time, is really hard to understand, and often gives away way too much of a book plot. Still worth a listen every now and then!

    Great show!
Adam and Jill, hosts of the Professional Book Nerds podcast, highlight great book recommendations and more in this can’t miss podcast! The hosts and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!

    Love Jill & Adam!
I found this podcast thanks to Reading Glasses. I love this podcast & Jill & Adam. I listen when I’m commuting & cleaning & I love the book rec episodes the most. I find a bunch of my books for my TBR from this podcast & I love that the suggest books they have AND haven’t read so that I can decide for myself if I’m gonna be into them or not. I love the fact that they are tuned in to current events and suggest books that align to them. Thanks so much for everything! Keep up the wonderful podcast! 🥳

    Sister Souljah
I would typically give a much higher rating, as I like this podcast very much, but I am flummoxed by the fawning over this book. I suspect the host did not read this book, nor did she read any reviews of this book in lieu of reading it herself. If she did read it, I am stunned there were no trigger warnings for this book’s content (and there should’ve been). Much of the discussion was about SS, the amount of time it took between the first book and its sequel, and the evasive answer to what the author hopes will be the take away meaning for the reader, and not a lot about the book’s content is suspicious. Sadly, I am now wondering how many books covered with author interviews are actually read, or at least skimmed or researched for content prior to an interview with the author. I am very disappointed. Just my opinion.

Thank you for asking about the process with organizing all these writers, time periods, focus, etc. I wondered about this throughout reading this book. Loved the variety in the 5 pages (or less) sections. Poems, history, personal essay connected to eras. Great!

    Inconsistent volume
I really like the content of this podcast. The trouble I have is with the inconsistent volume between the 2 podcasters. I will set my volume and then when they switch between speakers I need to readjust volume.

    Too good!
I haven’t read anything all day because I’ve been listening to back episodes of this hilarious, gorgeous, informative podcast for 8 hours!! If that’s not a good recommendation I don’t know what is.

    Ooops
Might want to edit out last few minutes of latest podcast where hosts think they are not recording!!!

A fresh take on book reviews when you listen to Professional Book Nerds
Jill and Adam, Adam and Jill, are the honest and witty hosts of this podcast. They have one on one author interviews with frank conversations and genuine connections. Their reviews cover every genre and once a month they each pick their favorites to discuss. It’s kinda fun to listen to their banter as they check to see if they might have chosen the same book; they know each other so well they rarely do. They tell you if they haven’t read a book and I like that honesty. They’ve answered every email I’ve sent. I feel right at home with these two. Give them a try!

    Love your Podcast!
Just started listening to your podcast and love it. You’re both so calm and relaxed. I really enjoy your format as well.

    Love the author interviews
I discovered this podcast because I listen to Reading Glasses with Brea Grant and Mallory O'Meara. All of the hosts are friends and this leads to some overlap, but it's nice to get differing perspectives on the same book. I love the author interviews! Even if it's an author I don't read, hearing about their writing process is interesting. The only downside to this podcast is that there is too much review of YA books in my opinion. While I'm not opposed to reading YA, it's not really what I seek out.

    Terrific podcast with awesome hosts
I just started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago. I'm picky about book podcasts and this one is a keeper! Adam and Jill are wonderful hosts. I just listened to the episode with Adam's October spooky book suggestions - loved it! I've already added White is for Witching, Bunny and The Boatman's Daughter to my ever growing book list. Thanks to Adam and Jill for a great podcast!

    Diverse recommendations
Jill and Adam are so fun to listen to! My favorite episodes are the monthly previews and the ones where they just chat about books. I’ve gotten some good recommendations from the monthly preview: clean getaway and scritch scratch. Neither of those books were on my radar. The interview with the author of Cinderella is Dead pushed that one up on my TBR and I went out and bought from my local indie bookstore.

    Thanks(revised)
The episode notes are worthy of 5 stars for their usefulness. If you’re in a hurry you'll find them advantageous. Thanks for those. I will keep my subscription for the notes but I refuse to listen to any further episodes. The Liberal ideology is corrupted and it’s ever increasing tendency toward the perversion of justice is a rising stench. True “white fragility”, if it were indeed a real phenomena, would be an indictment of the cowardice being displayed by Whites who allow themselves to be cowed and are so craven as to: accept personal responsibility for atrocities they did not commit, apologize for their skin color, feel ashamed for taking advantage of the opportunities available to them like any other rational person, and genuflect towards BLM. BLM DOES NOT REPRESENT BLACK AMERICA. Do not let them fool you. No, I am not white. But neither am I one of the race baiting bull(expletive) artists with whom the liberal mainstream media and liberal politicians are so enamored.
  • KaraZielinski
    The best hosts
Jill and Adam always brighten my week and I have found so many amazing books from them. I didn’t have a single doubt that they would come through with a long list of anti-racist books. Thank you for always knowing how to read the room and delivering books that make everything more bearable. Stay safe in Ohio!

    Fun, interesting interview
Penny Reid writes books about hilarious, intelligent characters. This interview is hilarious and intelligent and full of shenanigans- just like her books!! Worth the listen!

    What's Not To Love?!
This is such a fun podcast for the bookish among us, it brings all the best of what a book club offers and lets you access it at your convenience!

    What to read now?
I absolutely love this podcast. My ‘to read’ list keeps growing. Great interviews, but still crossing my fingers for Stephen King. Thanks Jill and Adam!
  • JenLeeB
    Great podcast
I look forward to both episodes every week!

And you can be a pro book nerd too!
Jill and Adam do a great job with this podcast. I love the episodes on monthly book releases, author reviews, and just getting to listen to some cool people chat about books. Highly recommend for every book nerd.

    Inspiring, fun & interactive!
Whether you've never picked up a book since high school or are already a dedicated BookNerd, Jill & Adam of the Professional Book Nerds podcast will warm your heart and make you excited about reading (or listening to) your favorite types of books, getting to know authors, trying new genres you may not have explored, or finally writing the book you've dreamed of creating. This podcast makes me wish I had a Time Turner so that I could read the thousands of books on my To-Read list and re-read my favorites. I love that each epiode has a little something different to offer instead of a rigid format - from author interviews to book recommendations to special themed episodes, Professional Book Nerds has something for everyone!

    Great Podcast!
BookNerds rejoice! This podcast is a great way to get new book recommendations!
  • Therhino88
    Love this so much!
This podcast gives me great book recommendations. I think Adam and Jill do a great job. I love books myself and it’s nice to know other people love books just as much as me. Keep up the good work!
  • jkl5876
I like your book enthusiasm , but ........
Can you guys please talk slower ? You both seem very enthused about books, which is great, but you both talk so doggone fast, it’s hard to keep up and hear everything you say. Please slow down when you talk. Other than that, no complaints. Thank you.
  • Arconna
    Lots of Book Nerdery!
As a fellow book-oriented podcaster, it should seem obvious that I would really dig PBN. The hosts do a great job talking about various books, interviewing authors, and more. I've been introduced to quite a few things I didn't know about before (and that I really should have cause they sound amazing). Book lovers will get a lot out of this one. That is unless your TBR pile is already too large, in which case...listen anyway...

    Fun & Informative
Jill and Adam have such fun chemistry. I really enjoy their author interviews and have purchased many books based on their recommendations. Plus, the intro music to the podcase just makes me happy.
  • chronicallyloved
    Never disappoints!
I always love listening to these fun and knowledgeable book lovers/librarians who work for Overdrive. They give great tips how to use the app Libby to listen and read fantastic books right from your library. I always discover jewels that I wouldn’t have read.
  • JustEmilyC
    Consider your audience
I like the enthusiastic book recommendations but the hosts do this thing where the volume of their voices fades out towards the end of the sentence and kind of dissolves into a mumble. Please be aware your audience can't hear you when you do this. The point is to communicate good books to an interested audience so speak up and anunciate so the audience can hear!

    Love love love this show!
I have listened to every single episode of this show. They were one of my first subscriptions when I decided to venture into the podcast experience a couple years ago. The first few had their challenges with sound but Jill and Adam are just so likeable I worked past it with them. :-). They have a vast resource of book knowledge with their Overdrive co-workers. The comic book men are amazing on their episodes and the women are always entertaining but I had to write a review to let Jill and Adam know I think they have been especially on top of their game the past few episodes! Jill is especially fun when she is in full sassy mode in the all cats episode to match Adam's all dog episode. I am a dog person but the cat episode won out on the podcast competition based on entertainment value. And I just listened to the No Boys Allowed episode where the women prove I don't need to take any other book loving podcast advice because they just KNOW their books! Keep up the fabulous work y'all!
  • MyNameIsEarlDamnIt
    Enjoyable overall.
I love book podcasts and this one is enjoyable to listen to with one exception. Sometimes the two podcasters speak so rapidly OR they do a fade away mumble at the end of what they are saying so the listener misses stuff. It’s frustrating. Please slow down and enunciate a little more. It would elevate the quality of your already enjoyable podcast so much.
  • PodcastLover11
    Great recommendations!
This podcast is great. Helps me to filter the books I do and DON'T want to read next. Keep 'em coming!

    Nerd Nine
This podcast is on constant rotation for me. Adam and Jill have great recommendations. I love listening to them interview authors-- especially the nerd nine questions! My favorite parts are the monthly new books to look forward to ones.
  • ,fgkflfltl,
    I love these guys
My favorite is the opening! The hosts make me laugh every time, and Overdrive seems like an awesome company. And my to read list is growing and growing with great suggestions.
