    Makes me laugh out loud
Funny, smart guys making each other laugh while talking politics. What’s not to love?

    Love Show, but Health Care
Amazing show! I love the insight and think I’m indeed a libertarian! I had to cringe however when you suggested insurance companies should have a bigger hand in health care. Yes doctors make money, but those in contract with insurance companies have no say in what they charge for services and if a patient’s insurance won’t pay, the doctor cannot provide the service for cash. State services barely pay for the lights and staff. I could go on. I just suggest more digging on this one. It’s practically impossible to privately own a practice now, because insurance companies have so much control.

    Huffing its own farts
Self satisfied, smug and supercilious hosts and guests are constantly condescending and fast aspersions on others who are actually doing something productive. I guess you have to live in Manhattan or their definition of the right neighborhoods of Brooklyn to appreciate this self serving smarm.

    Dr. Alan Levinovitz
He is interesting but has some very obvious flaws and biases. He repeats the propaganda attack points and starts his argument with the assumption that the slander against RFK JR is completely justified and true. However a rational, non-based person can easily understand that at least some of the propaganda points are completely false. The guest is probably bought and paid for by corporate interests while he pretends to be rational and above any biases. Instead he does have a bias. RFK JR is a better choice than previous HHS leaders because he is willing to allow the discussion. He is not perfect but better than stuffed suits that are no different than the charlatan s that the guest is claiming that RFK JR is. Removing the dyes and extra chemicals from food purchased from a shelf is a good idea even if it’s not the end of obesity. This guest’s argument is apparently to not do anything because it’s not the perfect solution. I’m guessing that he is a do nothing talks a lot. Just another type of charlatan. The problem is that we have serious issues and the status quo “adults in the room” are not very adult and not solving anything. We need a bit of chaos to break past the myths of people like this guest. I’m very suspicious of this guest using his own arguments.

    Um
Seriously, Welch needs to bow out of the podcasting world. Smart guy, good writer, but a terrible speaker. Makes this and Reason Roundtable almost impossible to listen to. They could tighten up the format and talk more policy. They spend a lot of time pretending Moynahan is funny and pretending Foster wants to be on the show. Time to rethink gentlemen. We'll need you over the next four years, so get your show in order.

    NPR with more giggling
I’ve always given new podcasts a few episodes before cancelling. After 20 minutes of the election one, I gave up. 30 seconds in there was something about the facist winning and it was all downhill from there. I’ll never understand the appetite for shows like this or Mark Levins on the right. Smug jerks with simple minded biased views.

The Gold Standard of Balanced Political Discussion
The best political discussion show hands down, make sure you sign up thru substack and pay the Pod tax for the bonus episodes.

The Fifth Column train jumped the track
These guys are funny at times, but today when they announced they aren’t voting because their feelings are hurt by both candidates I had to get off the train. Grow up you pansies and grow a pair. Leaders are abrasive, get over it. One of these candidates will continue to lie and demonize half the country while at the same time open the door to illegals and normalizes sexual predators who invade our daughters and wives spaces… and the other candidate will set the social politics aside and run this country like a business and in the process bring opportunity to every American regardless of race regardless of what CNN and MSNBC tells you.

If you like smarmy back patting you’ll love this podcast
A bunch of people with verbal diarrhea talking over each other - never uttering an original thought. Ug. I tried it a number of times but it is beyond annoying. I can’t believe how many people are suckered in by this b.s. and somehow think it’s serious or interesting.

    January 6
I agree January 6 is something we should not forget about. It was a bad DAY in history, but for the moderators to bring that up, but not the THREE years of riots in Minnesota, which destroyed many small black owned businesses, while Governor Walz did nothing is also a bad time in our history, and should’ve been been brought up as well. You can’t bring up one without the other. I think people are tired of the double standards.

    Idiot’s Delight
For three lackeys who have repeatedly genuflected to Megyn Kelly to call other people idiots is a lil rich you clout chasing wimps.

    Sometimes good
I enjoyed listening to the different viewpoints and considered becoming a paid subscriber. Sadly this has turned into nonsense. They need to add a strong, logical person to question, challenge and counter Moynihan. Could have some interesting debate.

    pretty good
decent podcast, hosts are funny and have good chemistry. sadly braindead takes on israel but its easy enough to overlook for the good bits.

    You Black or Nah?
Was in the Barber Shop (Da Wig Shop) on Saturday and the topic of conversation? How did Kamala go from curry to collard greens within 10 years? Her Black Card is Mad Suspect 💯

News content thinner than a bulimic
I’d call it a circle jerk, but Kmele always seems to hog all the lotion to himself. In fact, I encourage him to continue giving TEDx talks in front of his mirror (a la Narcissus) at home and leave it to M&M to give their more historically-informed analyses of current events. If you took a 90 minute show, removed all the laugh track filler, and boiled it down to true news editorial content, you’d produce a fantastic and engaging 20-30 minute show. Can’t wait until AI can do just that for me. To those in the reviews complaining about Michael filibustering though… at least he’s the clever one.
  • Perma Link
    Used to be good
It’s turned into too much Michael over talking and rambled mumbling over everyone. Kmele and Matt do not stand a chance in his overtalk and all about Michael attitude. What use to great discussions is now paywalls and rambling. If podcast is your business find a new career!

    Downhill
I was a paying subscriber for years. It’s the first of two podcasts I’ve given money to and I genuinely enjoyed and looked forward to the weekly content. However, the show is not what it used to be. It has turned into a nutpicking show that focuses on whatever ridiculous thing that comes out of whatever ridiculous person’s (usually left wing) mouth. If you’re interested in that then this is your show. If not, I highly recommend the group of podcasts from The Dispatch. P.S. Thanks for the good times gents, and good luck.
  • Looshy82
    Solid pod. Honest. Gutsy.
Funny, irreverent, with loads of guts, courage and insight. No MSNBC leftist drivel, and no FOX theatrics. They analyze and mock BOTH sides, as they should. A solitary voice of reason in bizarre culture war times. Totally worth listening and paying. Intelligent, provocative and highly entertaining,

Love the Moynihan Show + his standing guests
Love the show, guests and banter. Moynihan clearly loves the sound of his voice and dominates the conversation. He also talks over Kmele too much. Want more Kmele.

    Excellent IDF propaganda
It’s a great podcast if you believe being born in occupied Palestine as a Palestinian makes you subhuman vermin who deserves to be exterminated by IDF terrorists for the convenience of zionists.

Not bad at all. You can hear the chemistry between the hosts and the topics are informative.

    Bitter Bro Fest 2024
These guys are individually smart but collectively their bitterness is off the charts. Glad they have each other as friends and companion complainers but these kind of bitter-bro relationships don’t not make for good podcast chemistry. Unsubscribing after giving it a few months….
  • tickywrites
    Unsubscribed
They’re just as biased and prone to bad arguments as the people they criticize.
  • Heartandbile
    Too few insights
Smug, rambling chatter with far too few original ideas or insights to warrant listening to the hours of self-indulgence. A shame, because all three of these fellas are sharp and interesting. Return to form, please.
  • Person Martin
    Terrible show
This show is awful, and the hosts do an impressive job of presenting their obviously biased opinions as THE truth with little evidence and or reference to legitimate counter points.
  • trying to listen to all sides
Not even worth a hate listen
Predicable anti woke hand wringing. Typically describe some one not holding their opinion as dumb college kids and rarely reflect on any of their own clearly awful opinions on supporting the Iraq war while championing Israel’s invasion. Also Michael has a weird obsession with AOC that seems parallel that of a spurned lover. Sad.
  • Blueskybanana
Did I change or did you guys?
I’m not sure which but for a very long time this podcast has been such a voice of reason; a place where events and ideas are discussed and debated in good faith, representing each side fairly, and with an appropriate amount of levity to keep things interesting. I could listen to you guys present and debate challenging topics and learn while I clarified where I land, laughing all the way. It was so refreshing. But lately it’s become more snark than informative or enlightening discussion. I’m not saying you need to be the end all/be all for your audience but something seems to be missing. The takes seem to be more and more just judging from a distance and making fun of certain people/perspectives rather than engaging with the meat of the opposing arguments so the audience can learn what you know as journalists. The Russia/Ukraine war is a good example of this. Perhaps I missed an episode where you hashed this out but from the beginning it’s been a very overt “obviously Russia is in the wrong and Ukraine is in the right” type certainty without explaining why the dissenting views and all the various historical evidence supporting said views should be dismissed. It’s been many months since I’ve been able to get through a whole episode without turning it off bc it’s not really helping me understand the local and global landscape the way it used to.

Gone way down hill (used to be five stars)
I've been a Never Fly Coach subscriber since they started their Substack (and for a bit before that on Patreon), but I won't be renewing my subscription this May unless they drastically improve. I don't necessarily need them to change their positions, I just want them to stop mischaracterizing the positions of those they disagree with and actually engage with them instead. It started with the Russia/Ukraine war, where they mischaracterized anti-war people as being pro-Russian. Then with the Israel/Palestine conflict, where they mischaracterized people being critical of the actions of Israel's government as being antisemitic and/or pro-Hamas (yes, there are idiots on the left who are pro-Hamas, but there are also plenty of people who condemn Hamas while also being critical of Israel). Despite being a mostly libertarian podcast, they seem more willing to speak with liberals and conservatives than with libertarians who are more radical than them. The fact that they're more interested in talking with Ben Shapiro (who they've said they'd like to have on the podcast) than with someone like Scott Horton says a lot. On cultural issues and criticizing the media, they're great. On foreign policy, they've become awful, and foreign policy is too important for me to overlook what they've been saying on the topic. Again, I don't need them to change their positions, I just want them to actually engage with people they disagree with. They do that on other topics, so they should do it for foreign policy as well.

First discovered these guys on YouTube Megyn Kelly Show. Always entertaining!

    Try editing
I got into this show recently because it’s a relatively intelligent discussion about current events but they really need an editor. The most recent episode had a guest who immediately complained about needing to eat before answering any questions and then once that was accomplished, proceeded to complain about irrelevant trivialities for five minutes while the hosts laughed awkwardly. You’re supposed to cut all that garbage out of the show guys. Well, I’m out. Plenty of fish in the sea and not enough time to waste listening to a hangry adult complain about their free pizza.

    Moynihan
If you don’t like Moynihan, you have my sympathy for your intellectual impairment. In all honesty, you can’t get a better mix of current events, informed takes, humor, and historical awareness, in a very digestible form.

Greatest podcast in the history of audio recording
My only complaint is that I still have no idea what Freethink is.
  • inluvwithtunes
    Always way too much Moynihan
I would love to hear more from Foster and Welch, but no chance as long as Moynihan is in the room.

I did it for you Michael
Fantastic podcast despite how much a 1 star review throws them off.

The absolute best podcast in the world with the three most brilliant individuals I’ve ever heard
Now that the hyperbole is over for real this is my favorite podcast. The only Substack I would subscribe to Well, Blocked and Reported, America This Week, and dish cast or ride up there with The Fifth Column. Well informed opinions, Matt Welch is amazing Michael Moynihan always makes me laugh, and I find myself constantly amused that the of one Mr. Camille Foster been listening to about show 110 I will keep listening keep subscribing help these guys stare float these three men are the last true journalist we have
  • Tim BH
    Just try it
No matter what you’re listening to, this is better. Michael is irreverent and always willing to admit when he’s wrong. Matt is smart and the glue that makes the podcast work. Kmele (if he shows up) is just the man. Left, center, right, whatever your bias, this podcast is always a good time.
  • Curteousjonesjr
    Moynihan Is the Only Stain
There’s collateral damage, which is always a tragedy. Then there’s dehumanization and slaughter. I’m against it, no matter who does it. Moynihan laughs and roots for it. Disgusting.
  • AWESOME Scary Stories!
    Absolute trash
Complete waste of time listening to this drivel. The mental gymnastics you have to endure to make sense of the aggrieved mediocre male’s incessant made up complaints is astounding

    Great show but
Way too much Moynihan and not nearly enough Foster & Welch. Smart conversation.
  • DontHurtSpidey
This 1 Star is for Michael Moynihan
..who I used to like but now disgusts me with his absolutely putrid, ignorant, boot licking, apologia of Israel’s war of extermination against the Palestinians. I had considered becoming a paid subscriber, but no more. You can beg and browbeat you’re fans all you want since you lost your day job at vice (pathetic btw), You ain’t EVER getting a penny from me son. Blocked and Reported is a much funnier podcast anyway which I’ve been a happily paid subscriber of for more than 3 years now. Funnier and much less genocidal. Sounds like a winning combo and a better use of my time and money
