nucuplmnjuyhJulia episodeI will post something later on misogyny, but for now, Jonathan please stop saying “and what not” — it doesn’t belong in a scholarly conversation. I’m surprised you don’t see this.
-
regressive1nice podcast butI have to agree that Iona doesn’t haver what it takes… I’ve been skipping her shows.

MRCRD2211/30/24 Episode Sound Cuts OffAt about 18 minutes into the 11/30/24 episode regarding the Canadian teachers college, the sound abruptly stops. Couldn’t finish the episode.

OperaTrumpeterLove Jon KayThis would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the addition of Iona Italia as a host. I haven’t made it through a single one of her episodes. She needs serious help with interviewing skills, editing, and sound production. Even then, I’m afraid she just has a voice for print. I absolutely love Jon Kay - he’s an excellent interviewer and his episodes are always very engaging.
-
Nazis12900Getting worseThe new host is unfortunately not nice to listen to, and she hosts about 50% of the episodes now. I can’t get through her episodes — just skip them.

Razzy5000It might be free but it ain’t thoughtSince when does “free thought” mean reactionary diatribes about subjects you know nothing about?

DareBoBearDownhill trajectoryQuillette was great at first. Coleman Hughes came from there.. so much good ("heterodox") writing came out of the early years of Quillette. Then came Covid. Quillette, "where freethought lives," was suddenly Defenders of Authority. Don't let them fool you, they are taking a revisionist tack now, claiming they were simply against the looney conspiracy types. This simply isnt true. They had ZERO interest in anyone remotely suggesting that just MAYBE we humans were overreacting a bit with this bug, and doing ourselves more harm than good. "Fearless commentary" it was not during covid. There is still sizeable redeeming value in this pod though, buuttt... that brings me to the 2nd, more recent problem.. this Iona person. I am sure she is a nice woman, so I dont want to be mean... but she should not be in podcasting. She is just too darn slow. And there is no cogent analysis of anything with her, just everything all dramatic-sounding and plodding. And did I mention slow? I guess (the sharp & excellent) Jonathan Kaye felt he needed a break from doing all the pods... but this was not the answer. (A great answer would've been Coleman Hughes! as his pod appears to be languishing.) Sadly, i have unfollowed this formerly great podcast, and now it is in my informal group of "check in on" pods, in which i check every so often if anything interesting has popped up (and only if Kaye is the host.)

Tre CraftWould be 5 StarsI genuinely love this podcast, but the host make a huge difference. Claire and Johnathan are engaging hosts, but unfortunately Iona is hard to listen to. The topics she engages in are actually really interesting, but she could use some public speaking training.
-
wxs8053The host makes the differenceJonathan is an engaging and interesting host. Iona is quite bad. I sped up an Iona episode to 1.5x and it was still slow and boring with lots of um’s. But the Jonathan episodes are a highlight for me when they come out.

GatsbyNYCHit or missAvoid episodes hosted by Claire Lehmann, she can barely get a word our without a half dozen "Ums". Life On Mars was a really tough listen. Why do people who can't speak feel compelled to host podcasts?
-
Gnome chopperPretty goodJonathan Kay is getting better. The recent episode with professor Goda was excellent. He let the guest speak freely and didn’t keep interrupting as usual. Excellent guest. Extremely knowledgeable.

Unwoke anti-zionistWho are the terroristsIt’s astounding that your podcast ignores the blatant and heinous crimes against humanity that Israel is committing against Palestine and the genocide in Gaza. Beyond shameful - 23,000 people in Gaza massacred so far, 40% of them children. Ask Israeli Jews like Miko Peled, Gideon Levy, Ilan Pappe, and Ronnie Barkan. As the world watches, and knows, who the terrorists are, Quillete's moral bankruptcy is all the more apparent. Zionism is evil.

ZzzzhhhgggQuillette COVID ApologyWhen do we get an apology from Claire and the Quillette crowd for having gotten COVID so wrong. Mind boggling that they still post articles about lab-leak being a conspiracy theory and they demonized critical thinkers who doubted the vax… and who were correct to do so (ie: Darkhorse). I get that Australian and Canada broke a lot of brains, but it’s hard to trust the thought process and introspection of people still so unwilling to alter their perspective in the face of what is now such utter common sense, data-based reality.

SDSSTLLess Trans Stuff (Please?)This is one of many “heterodox” pods I listen to, and while I quite like it, I wish this one would spend less time on the trans kids issue. It’s so overplayed and honestly, kind of boring at this point. We get it.
-
kvell55GuestsThis would be more interesting if the guests didn’t always agree with the host. It’s the same blah blah blah every episode. Maybe have someone like Victor Davis Hanson or Chris Rufo for a change.
-
drooglesLatest episode is outstandingFull credit to both Yascha and Jonathan: an excellent interview.

NotwolfnorsheepPot and kettleWhile I appreciate pretty much all Quillette’s Content and as well as the opening of this first years episode in relation to the balancing act of reporting, I believe this interview was exactly what is being played out when there’s a certain point of view already pre-determined by a writer - John. I surely wouldn’t call his writing on Dave a hit piece but it definitely had a negative bend based off of John’s own political ideology. Despite some of Dave’s pointed comments via any kind of media he is in fact very genuine and real, not just a random celebrity with preset talking points. As Dave, his media company, and his status among left and right becomes more popular I think it is hard not to notice, but it was almost like an NPR episode which attempts to remain neutral but consistently fails.
-
ZawferPass the Salt PleaseQuillette podcast has become less interesting over time. The host’s politics get in the way more than in the past. I’m neither right nor left ideologically and I put civil liberties front and center. The hit piece on Dave Rubin is pathetic. It reeks of arrogance. Rubin changed his politics to something the host doesn’t agree with. Oh my, the sky is falling. I’m not a fan of Dave Rubin and I’m not on the right. But this kind of petty, self-aggrandizing “journalism” is repulsive. I think I’m done with Quillette.
-
PalPetrHit piece on Ruben??!! Really?!You guys should be better than this.
-
CleverJenInterviewer talks more than the guestsGreat topics and guests but the host spends more time talking than they do. I just wish he’d spend more time asking questions and letting them talk than queuing and framing the interview.
-
minneapolis dreaming80 yr old feminist podcast a real joy.The Julie Jaman interview was a highlight. I cackled with delight hearing about the clash of ideologies playing out in real time. The 9 yr old non - binary kid trying to emotionally cudgel Julie is priceless. And one could hear Julie grappling to square up her beliefs. Jonathan was pitch perfect.
-
Ann.rnGreat podcastSo glad I found your podcast. Will have to binge past episodes over the next few days. Really enjoy everything I’ve listened to so far. Please keep up the good work. Next step- share the podcast with a friend.

CheckpointCThank you for your courageThank you for your courage to speak the truth. Beware there is movement just beyond the light of our fire. Brothers and Sister…..
-
DillonesqueBetter than most…& definitely coming from a place of integrity as a whole, but Jeezus ‘Reporter Aaron Sibarium’ ‘s voice is an assault on common decency- if you ever interview him again, please get an interpreter or at least comically cover his voice up a la 80’s Gerry Adams on BBC.
-
Noodles115NecessaryNeither left nor right. Just the story. Just what’s going on. These are the shows that may save this ever increasing garbage fire of a country. Thanks.

Hoist PetardThinkingI love to hear and entrance myself in the working of your minds.

aFloridaManContent is time-constrainedThis podcast has interesting guests and Jonathan Kay is great (his podcast with Debra Soh was better). Conversations feel rushed. Not sure if made for standard radio or what, but this could be massively improved by a more long-form, open format.

robster7996you know?Mark Twain and George Bernard Shaw weep every time an X,Y, Zoomer says “like” and “you know”?

rue883Thanks for TruthI have abandoned the Fake News Enemy of the People. I don’t trust Fake Tech and the Fascist Woke Cult. So, thanks for telling the truth. What kind of world do we live in where telling the truth is an amazing act of honor. (20220216) The Canadian Truckers are the perfect “Insurrectionists”. If only all “Terrorist” were this polite, who picked up their trash, who clean the sidewalks, who put up bouncy castles for the kids. If all “Terrorist” acted like this, the world would be a beautiful place.

bluetortillaQ Anon! How can Apple allow this hate? The purveyors of this podcast ought to check more into Wilson: He has been called as a racist on numerous occasions. He’s also been lauded as a genius and I don’t social engineering was any goal for him. But hey, it is what is and the chromosomes are there. I don’t see what the big deal is. Wilson, and you guys, would like to differ though. You guys have to suppress anything that threatens your fleeting notion of being dominant right… All racists hate being told they are racist, and that Scientific American Op Ed obviously struck a nerve. No racists go to greater lengths to mythologize themselves than the domineering group. And that’s something Wilson would know all about. Trouble is he compare ants to people. But there are over 10,000 species of ants; there’s only one species of human. And that’s why you are racist- you refuse to accept that. You would no longer look dominant.

Tx43214321Well intentioned. . .Do you ever use the expression “well intentioned conservative “ as you frequently use “well intentioned liberal?”

flexibleaspectClaire Lehmann is a fascistClaire Lehmann is a fascist that supports forcing innocent and healthy people into concentration camps 'just in case' they have Covid-19.

zkimball1245Bringing on Aussie govt officials to say how well they’ve handled COVIDI’m sure Quillette is getting a lot of hate from their stance against Bret Weinstein. I personally can understand their stance there. On the other hand it seems Quillette is going out of their way to gain some mainstream acceptance as opposed what they used to do in highlighting inconvenient truths. What turned me off in the end was when they brought an Australian government official on to talk about how well Australia has handled COVID and how they’re not really concentration camps because they’re not for political dissidents. Total joke. And the fact that I liked Quillette before makes me question if it was just confirmation bias on my part. Either way, it’s not worth my bandwidth.
-
CPullerTerry GlavinThank you for that eye opening podcast on Afghanistan. I listened to it a few times to let it sink in. By far the best information I have heard on Afghanistan. Hats off to you. Wonderful.
-
SD921521 Star for article on Bret WeinsteinQuillette is no longer the place of free speech. It’s political hit job on Bret Weinstein shows this periodical has been compromised. Quillette is no longer to be trusted for critical thought and rational analysis in the field of hard sciences.

barbiemaniaYikesVery biased and misleading

EtM80Poorly researchedThe episode defending Woody Allen is pure garbage. This is NOT a matter of opinion. The info provided here is very one sided, full of holes and missing facts! They obviously did not do proper research, like actually watching the documentary. The hosts make claims that have been directly refuted and corroborated by dozens of people. The mass of mounting evidence against him is vast. I implore people to do their own research. Watch the documentary Allen Vs Farrow and listen to the companion podcast. Also the podcast Real Crime Profile has over 10 episodes of PROFESSIONALS who do a deep dive on the subject. They even have several episodes breaking down the inconsistencies and misinformation that Quillette has reported. If Quillette’s hosts are this biased and careless with this story, it really makes me question the quality of anything else they’ve reported on.
-
Nutly19Full of Misinformation/Should be Zero StarsI won’t listen to any further episodes after hearing the Woody Allen podcast which was laughable if it wasn’t so tragic. Before you do a podcast one should actually view the documentary mentioned, which clearly the hosts did not. Secondly, your lack of knowledge about pedophilia is stunning, and should be left to professionals for commentary. The amount of misinformation spewed by these hosts seemingly without thought is irresponsible and should be made known to the audience. Short on facts, long on the hosts own views, endorsements and opinions. Sad, especially around such a critical topic.
-
AshleyoftheriverLiesSo many lies and regurgitating talking points from other biased “news”. You will become dumber listening to this drivel.

Pug Posse SheriffSeth Rogen doesn’t like Jonathan Kay, andhe may have a point. I took a five month hiatus from Quillette after listening to the very Canadian (so why does he care who is the American President), Jonathan Kay trash President Trump and by default all his deplorable 75 million voters. So after five months, and falsely assuming Jonathan may have moved on, I decided to listen to the latest podcast with the brilliant Gad Saad. So after allowing Dr. Saad to speak for a few precious minutes, Jonathan managed to tramp all over his guest while offering his unsolicited psychological analysis of his personal squabble with some d-list man-boy “actor” and trash Trump. You do what you want, I’m done with this nonsense. Such a shame because Toby Young is excellent. Buh-bye!
-
AmasarAlt Right rhetoric in ‘intellectual’ candy wrapperDangerous alt right rhetoric presented as ‘diversity’. Think twice before you fall for this. Look up both Claire Lehman and Toby Young, always do your research.
-
maytevazqGutsyIt’s great to hear this kind of unfiltered conversation but the audio quality really needs work.
-
gidreichChallenging and uncommonQuillette is not only “where free-thought lives” as Claire Lehman, editor of the website and one of the podcast hosts points out, it is also one of the best places to find intelligent discussions of centrist and other interesting ideas. Interviews are always respectful and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

fhfdygcyhhvDoesn’t play very wellI love the podcast it’s just that it takes five minutes of waiting before it starts to play.
