Sensible Talk of a Mad Team
Love it. One of only two Spurs pods I bother with. The blend of tactical talk with the sincere reaction of true fans is spot on. Well done boys!

    My favourite podcast!
One of the highlights of my week! I’ve been listening for the past couple of years, and Windy, Bardi and Nathan actually make me look forward to Mondays. I kinda miss the “Lamela!” intro (although the new Deki intro is great), but this pod is a great way to experience Spurs community. COYS!!!

Best Spurs pod around! All the tactics and banter you can handle without all the fluff of many of the other shows. I learn something new every episode

    Nathan Release More Videos!
If TFC is like a pub conversation about spurs, then TEI is the coffee shop edition. Sober minds, dulcet tones, and Nathan schizophrenic tactical analysis. .

    Insufferable
Why Bardi, the only one who knows what he’s talking about, chose to get in bed with the other two is beyond me.

    Great pod
Perspective from a female fan. I love this pod in particular because these guys don’t give off a “bro” vibe. Maybe it’s because they don’t use phrases like “that makes me so hard” (it’s a transfer, for God’s sake), or they haven’t yet been sponsored by a manscaping company (The Athletic, you should know better, I don’t want to be thinking about that, just Spurs), or they’ve given me more empathy for my partner’s balding (get Levy on the show, though), or they take sexual assault allegations against players seriously. It’s a friendly and inclusionary pod. Call me a prude, whatever. I listen to this pod and Ali G’s, not the other ones.

Long time listener, first time rater
As a long suffering Spurs fan, who has had to follow from across the pond, my access to Spurs content - well football content at all - has changed dramatically since I first fell for Tottenham in the early 90’s. From tracking down months old 442 magazines, to having friends travel and bring back footie gifts, to finding pubs that would open at 6am so insane expats and weird yanks (like myself) could watch satellite feeds on grainy televisions, to being able to now stream almost every match live from my own sofa, I honestly can’t get enough. All that said, I’ve never found “soccer tactics” analysis all that engaging - until I started listening to this pod. Windy, Bardi, and Nathan are insightful, entertaining, and, above all, seem like kind humans. I love everything about this podcast - keep up the fantastic work, and thank you!

    Well done guys!
Hey guys, this is bagel-boi from the discord. I just wanted to talk about how I started listening to the pod and where I’m at now. So I started seriously listening to the pod at the height of the pandemic in 2020. I had just started the idea of a bagel business in the Boston area and I was sneaking into an old commercial kitchen I used to work at to bake bagels at 4am before they opened. That allowed me a lot of podcast time and I quickly fell in love with The Extra Inch despite you guys going through your Mourinho era. It was a great relief from the constant pondering of my future (after being laid off) and the prospects of my budding bagel biz. Just wanted to say thanks for being there and I’ve now joined the Patreon and discord and shared my experiences with those participating with that and it’s been great. Top pod for any American looking for a great community of Tottenham fans!! Thanks guys!

    A Top Football Podcast
As an American who loves the game and Tottenham I rely on podcasts to get my long form conversations about football in general and spurs. The Extra Inch provides a perfect blend of impartial analysis while also having the pulse of the fan base in the UK. Both are so important for me to feel connected to my spurs brothers and sisters across the pond. COYS

This pod is the mustard. Great chemistry, tactical analysis, and passion. If you are Spurs and COYS up in your groin then upgrade to XSUBS ! (Best behind the wall Content available and Swag)..( I know of more than one self loathing Woolich Wanderer that is a XSUB lurker.. ) When Spurs chose me back in the day never could I have imagined the quality of people I would meet and become friends / family with through this Football Club. These gentlemen reflect that quality / soulfulnesses that is THFC through and through. Being apart of this community is a delight and supporting them with my time and modest monthly sponsorship is an honor. These cats are are really awesome humans! Come on in the water is fine!!

    Island of Sanity
As an avid Spurs fan and confessed technocrat I desperately look forward each week to Bardi, Windy, and Nathan's attentive insight into what's working and how to cure what's ailing my one and only club. While as passionate as any Tottenham fan, these three try as much as possible to look through the fog of war and provide at least some clarity to the ever-evolving nature of the game and our team's place in it. They round it off with some tasteful banter and debate, with Bardi's elevational fluidity providing a major focal point. An island of sanity and an anchor in the choppy waters of the unhinged Twittersphere, these guys have ushered your boy here through some very tough times (and hopefully better ones to come). Can't recommended them enough.

This is by far one of the finest Spurs pods. The insightful analysis outstrips most others. And the lads have good chemistry.

    A great hour
I look forward to this show every week. It’s the right mix of tactics, laughter, sense of dread and unrealized potential, a Spurs fan should expect. Keep up the great work!

    This is the one, people.
In recent years I have searched high and low for a compelling podcast about male anxieties regarding ageing, with particular interest in follicular deterioration and dietary habits. Well, I search no more. The hosts are knowledgeable, and not shy about sharing their thoughts and experiences. Perhaps sometimes their views on circumscribed foodstuffs strays into prejudice, but not enough to cost them a star. There just isn’t enough said in polite society about male-pattern baldness, but these lively lads are on a mission to change that. Kudos to them. Make sure you become a patron for the full buffet. (fyi the psychic powers of the Anglo-Italian mystic are still unclear, but I’m confident all will soon be revealed.)

    Best in show
What can I say about the Extra Inch. Well I have been a Spurs fan for 40+ years and the last two years may of been the hardest I have ever had as a fan. This podcast has kept my light on during the doom and gloom. As a ex pat living in America it is the Extra Inch that keeps me up to date on all things Spurs. Now we just need to stop Nathan saying ‘like’ all the time. Keep up the great work lads. COYS

    TEI best spurs pod
If you want actual quality in your spurs pod then this is the place to be. Actual tactical analysis from windy and Nathan and bardi brings good analogies however he definitely lacks tactical astuteness. Great listen each and every week!

    Just the right balance
As a Spurs supporter in the states, I’ve been looking for a good pod for a couple years that is both deeply knowledgeable about the team, it’s history and it’s place in English football while also being approachable for someone who is still fairly new to fandom and wasn’t brought up with Spurs. These guys strike just the right balance for all of that. Great pod.

    Best Spurs pod out there
I listen to Windy, Nathan, & Bardi on The Extra Inch religiously. Every episode brings quality insight into the tactics, direction, and general feeling surrounding our club. The guys are a quality listen, and every episode is refreshingly unique. Keep up the good work!

United fan in love with my COYS boys
I love TEI, been listening religiously for about six months. I can’t listen to United podcasts because I disagree with 90% of their takes and already have my own opinions and analysis from watching United games multiple times, so I listened to Spurs and Arsenal podcasts (cuz I thought both clubs are in a a very fascinating position) to find something to pass the time while doing chores about the house. I randomly found the extra inch and I have come to adore Windy Bardy and Nathan. We see football similarly, valuing pressing and good attacking play , and see the world similarly, valuing human rights and equal treatment for all, without exceptions. I respect them all, and wish hopelessly they were United fans. No other club has an equivalent podcast, and Spurs fans are incredibly lucky to have them. While I’m hoping the disastrous Ronaldo 2.0 era ends as soon as possible so I can enjoy United matches again, in the meantime I try to watch Spurs games and grasp the struggle of being a Tottenham fan. I think all you three are genuinely wonderful people and I wish I could offer something to you. If you ever wanted someone to preview or review a fixture with United I would love it more than anything. Thank you so much, best of luck to you and your partners, Levi from Hawaii

    The Best Tottenham Pod
At one point in my career, I studied and taught rhetoric. When analyzing the effectiveness of a given speaker, we would look for the presence and quality of ethos (credibility), pathos (the emotional appeal), and logos (the logical appeal). The Extra Inch is the best Tottenham pod because Windy, Bardi, and Nathan are each perfectly suited to appeal to a different part of a supporter’s heart and mind. Nathan is the logos. He is a gifted and tireless student of the game who puts in the hours analyzing and has the stats and facts ready to appeal to the logical side of your brain. Bardi is the ethos. A longtime season ticket holder, he has the credibility to represent the fan in the stands and has a good sense of the pulse of the club. And last but not least, Windy is the pathos— the emotional core that drives the pod, the man who knows best how to talk to our hearts. These are my podcasters— a credit to all of us as Tottenham supporters.

    Great Spurs analysis/odd social commentary
Thoughtful and in-depth analysis and discussion of all things Spurs. This group’s discussions are helpful in providing an American with an understanding the local supporters’ perspective of current events at the club. Good mixture of fun and serious content. A splash of social commentary that sometimes ends with weird, prejudice, and/or hypocritical takes, which hurt the final product. Examples of the odd takes by the lads from the recent 21 October 2021 podcast include horrible commentary such as all Catholics are homophobic and assault is an acceptable means to enforce social standards.

    Spurs v Lyon
It ended up being Bale’s last season at Spurs before he went to Madrid. I also happened to be getting married later that year and my best friend organized a trip to London for me, him and one other friend as a sort of Bachelor party. We live in Chicago in the States and due to certain connections my friend’s brother has in soccer equipment sales, we were able to secure free tickets to see Spurs play Lyon in the Europa league. I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have watched a game 10 rows behind Levy’s bald head. Especially that game. Bale was at the peak of his powers scoring two free kicks that dumbfounded the Lyon keeper. When Bale scored the second/winner we celebrated, embracing strangers, shouting and jumping, all feeling the same euphoria of what we were witnessing our team doing. I didn’t feel like a newer fan from thousands of miles away at that moment. Such a special night topped off by singing songs on the train back, and one spurs supporter calling an unsuspecting person getting off at the arsenal station a c*nt (funny yet horrible). 10 years of supporting Spurs and it’s still my favorite game. Thanks for the podcast. I very much like the tone and thoughtfulness put into the show. I also want to acknowledge your empathetic efforts at fairness and justice on all topics, from soccer to women’s rights and racism. Most soccer talk is a little too bro-ee/blokey for me having grown up with all women. I’ve never felt at ease with man’s man sport talk as it generally does skew misogynistic. So thanks for providing your even handed insights. COYS!

My most memorable spurs match is Spurs 2 Southampton 1, last season at WHL. I’m from Detroit Michigan and I’m in the supporter group here called Detroit Spurs, it’s very hard to get into soccer over here and my parents weren’t fans of it when I began watching in 2012. Eventually my dad came around (as he’d drive me to the pub very early mornings to watch spurs with people twice my age) and began watching Spurs whenever I would. I knew if I didn’t see White Hart Lane before it was torn down I’d regret it the rest of my life, one day I came home and my dad said he had a surprise for me, we were GOING TO LONDON, it was just going to be me and my dad going across the pond. We played Southampton the day after my 17th birthday, did the stadium tour two days before and the tour guide was kind enough to show us our seats after the tour, will never forget it. When matchday rolled around my dad surprised me by planning (with help from Detroit spurs) a MATCH DAY stadium tour where we got to go into the locker room and the club gave me a flag signed by all of the players, I met a few spurs legends and I’ll never forget the chills that went down my spine when I heard the music play as the players walked out, all goals were on our end, Eriksen hit a clean strike from outside the box. Sadly, the match before, Millwall in the cup, Kane got injured so I got to witness Janssen try to play up front in the Premier League, wild sight. Now I’m 21 years old and I’m at college but my dad will text me “hey did you see that goal this morning?” and it means the world to me that he’s gotten this deep into spurs. Incredible podcast guys, hope you’re doing well in lockdown, all the best. COYS. @NGSMaki on Twitter

    4/5/17
As a fan since 2014, my favorite Spurs moments are similar to the other “new” supporters here: the Ajax comeback, Llorente hip goal, Kane’s NLD curler, etc. But one that randomly sticks out occurred in Wales on April 5, 2017. Gold-clad Spurs scored three late goals to draw, then lead, then put away a feisty Swansea side 3-1. I remember watching the match during my college Intro to Business class and trying not give away my inattention as Janssen’s backheel pass found Sonny for the winner. That really captures my college experience I think, as Spurs offered a continuous reprieve from a taxing four years. I love this club, man. Even if it doesn’t always love me back.

    Rats and hawks
My most memorable Spurs match was a 4-3 win over Leicester on March 21, 2015. It included a Harry Kane hat trick and a nail biting ending. As an American fan, it was my first and only trip to White Hart Lane. I took the Victoria Line to Seven Sisters and walked up to the stadium, picking up the white kit with bright yellow trim from that year from one of the outside vendors. While weird for us Americans to not drink in our seats, it was actually kind of awesome to have a beer in the packed concession area before everyone marched to their seats together (not as cool of an experience at Wembley matches) and be able to place bets (I still regret not putting money on Kane to score the first goal at a 5 to 1 payout) right there while waiting. My seat in row 9 of block 26 was fitting to for match as chaotic as this one. Felt like I was on the field with them. Will remember this one forever.

    Long Walk episode
Was a bit ambivalent about listening to segment because of length. Probably dozed a bit before talk about Mou, but really enjoyed (and during Covid really miss) having a few interesting & well informed mates talk about Tottenham. Loved “The Walk” segment, the intelligent answer to why the Mouxperiment needs to end ASAP, and advise on pods (for me, BBC4’s More or Less pod on statistics). Thanks guys, you put me in a better mood

Spurs Match that Has Meant Most to Me
I’m a relatively new Spurs fan in the United States! My immediate family has already taken notice and I’ve gotten so many Tottenham apparel. The two games that stick out to me are the Man City and Ajax Champions league games! Ajax with my girlfriend, and at the time dreading my life during the first half and then running around the house like a blubbering idiot when Moura put home the goal! #COYS

    The Good Old Days
During the heart of the 2016-2017 season, the last season at the Lane, Spurs took on a Chelsea squad who were absolutely on fire led by Antonio Konte. It was an opportunity for us to stop their winning streak and cement ourselves as title contenders. We ended up smacking them around the pitch, with Dele netting two historic headers from Eriksen assists. It was one of the most iconic performances from the Poch era and couldn’t help but stand up from my couch and proclaim “I LOVE THIS CLUB” when the final whistle blew. I wish I realized how good we had it back then. We were never afraid to take on a “bigger club” and give it a proper go. We need to get back to that mindset. Love the pod. Thank you all for all your insight.

The pod and the match that means the most
This pod is one of a handful I make sure to listen to every week, even amongst other Spurs pods I subscribe to. Windy, Nathan, and Bardi are top lads, and I don’t mind saying that listening from the other side of the world makes me feel like I have a group of similar minded friends down the road from N17. The match that means the most to me as a supporter is, like most, the match in the Champions League against Ajax where Moura scored a hat trick. It meant so much because I was forced to watch the match alone on my phone, strategically tucked inside of a book on workplace cohesion/synergy/etc that everyone in the company was supposed to be reading for an upcoming seminar. I couldn’t tear myself away from my reading and was worked up into knots as it went on, staying past closing time to make sure I didn’t miss a second. At the final whistle I stared, unbelievingly, at my book (phone) not quite sure what I had just witnessed. As I closed the book over my phone and tossed it into my bag I leaned back in my cubicle with my hands over my forehead letting it all wash over me as someone walked by and said to me, “that book really makes you think, huh????” COYS!

The extra inch has become my go to podcast for Spurs related chat... some of the others are too geezer-ish and emotional and just not a good listen if we lose... and let’s face it we’ve not lost well this season. Mostly balanced, good tactical insight and a lot of fun. The guys don’t take themselves too seriously

As a Spurs fan, "The Extra Inch" is an essential listen. Their international audience is a testament to their breadth of knowledge, and the structure is so unique among anything else I listen to. Throw in some top-shelf banter -- am I, as an American, allowed to say that? -- and you have a uniquely vital Tottenham Hotspur podcast.
