Oregon LawyerPaul MeroI wouldn’t spend another minute talking to Paul Mero. He obviously doesn’t understand law, economics, American and English history and culture, incentives, and the rule of law. His argument was internally incoherent. Get across the border, you are ok, but if not, too bad! Many other things wrong. He is a practitioner of toxic empathy, which you rightly decry. Also, he wants to assassinate South American leaders? Really? By the way, isn’t Senator Lee supporting President Trump on immigration?

KnechtoeeGreg sees doctrine through a cracked lenseI watched the episode on religious theology and empathy being Satan’s proposal in the pre-mortal existence. If Christ wasn’t a liberator then you aren’t being honest with yourself. You can still believe in the gospel and helping people outside the church. And Greg’s decision on empathy only shows his desire to persuade members to follow the doctrine of MAGA. Christ has always been empathetic. He is literally the perfect example of it.

95kmSexist and racistI listened to the episode on the pride cycle and was shocked by the false doctrine spoken of regarding women and the mention of critical race theory along with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. To blame women for pride entering our culture due to the advancement of domestic appliances and discovery of the pill for birth control is ridiculous and offensive! Pres. Nelson continues to teach the power and value of women. Church leaders have also been teaching the importance of diversity and acceptance of all of God’s children regardless of race. I suggest you reread the book of Helaman which very clearly points out that pride is due to division and a lack of charity in taking care of the poor and marginalized groups of people, which is the opposite of what you are teaching in this podcast episode.

Loll oolongRight wing garbageThis podcast does nothing much but spout nonsense and misinformation about gender, sexuality, and women’s issues. If you don’t want to be subjected to the same nonsense Mormon talking points you can hear on any 4Chan board, this isn’t the podcast for you

Ninja_ Rat_is_the_GOATUpliftingI really enjoy this guys take on modern issues through an LDS perspective. Rare to hear church members speak so openly about these things, and appreciate the honesty and sincerity with which he does.

Doodle2467Why people are leaving the churchI can tell Greg is sincere in his efforts and I understand a lot of people agree with this rhetoric. But this exactly is why so many people are leaving the church - especially Gen Z. Believe me - I am tempted to leave sometimes. Thank goodness for apostles such as Uchtdorf and Kearon who keep me in. Read their rhetoric. To me it is some of the most Christlike rhetoric besides the gospels themselves. I LOVE teddy bear Jesus - love everyone! I feel the most spiritual now ever. I haven’t changed behavior (tolerate does not mean condone) but I stopped judging the behavior of others because it made it difficult to love them. Christ is our only judge. Teddy Bear Jesus? Sign me up.

PickadamnnicknameformeTrue definition of a gospel hobby.I started listening in 2019 and appreciated Greg’s insight into the scriptures and his focus. However, over the past few years he’s departed from those themes and delved into the gospel hobby of making sure there is no “woke” among us. That’s seems to be the only key on the piano he knows how to play these days.

BinkBinksShouldn’t of done thatI respect your religious theocracies, but I do not respect your politics. You should’ve kept it with just Jesus and His Gospel, but you brought politics into it, and ruined the show for me. How dare you call yourself a disciple of Jesus Christ and defend a man like Donald Trump! Goodbye

Starbuck3614Nothing but Hate SpeechOne of the reviews is from the person who makes the podcast. He gave himself five stars. Biased much? This is a podcast for racists, people into misogyny, victim blaming, and ad hominem logical fallacy. It’s for people who think compassion and empathy are horrible sins to be avoided at all costs.

Xyzgroup.Teddybear Jesus.I thoroughly enjoyed today's podcast, and I agree with your viewpoint. However, considering the current cultural climate, it seems more prudent to exercise caution and choose the right time for the church to speak out. Immorality is accepted nowadays by many groups, and those who hold opposing views are subjected to intense scrutiny. Just imagine if the conference speakers expressed their unfiltered thoughts, beliefs and confronted the issues directly; it could potentially endanger the Church. Therefore, they tend to address these matters more candidly and precisely in discussions held outside of formal conferences, aiming to foster understanding among those who are willing to listen. The Church is currently facing a lot of criticism, and it doesn't need any more. It's my belief that as time passes, the situation will eventually calm down, allowing for more direct counsel about the true state of our society to be given." Just a thought.

DalelindaGreat podcast!I love that you and your guests are faithful voices of reason on cultural issues in the Church. My only frustration is the title of your podcast. I have been listening to many podcasts by Church members for a long time and with every new search yours never comes up. But those like Mormon Stories sure do! I only found you because you were a guest on another podcast I listen to. I wish you were easier to find. I love your podcast! Thank you!

clarkterryDark episode with Brad GardinerGreg, the episode with Brad Gardiner felt very dark. Usually truth rings true somewhere deep inside of me. Not this time. Very different feeling than the last episode with Jonathan Neville.

H. Van SmeiterHeavy on BiasHost is genuine but ignores nuance on complex issues, even often using arguments against the opposing extremes to justify current Church policies that cut out the moderate middle. Contrast his softened rhetoric on queer issues when discussing with Patrick Mason vs his solo episodes. Greg is always respectful, and capable of moderated dialogue, but he does not get there himself, which makes this podcast echo chamber fodder for extreme orthodoxy. Listeners to this podcast are more likely to deepen fear of and entrenchment against social chasms that desperately need bridges.

Dré want to be a DoctaYou are awesome. All of the research, symbolism, tie-in are spot on. Who are you? I have no idea. But am grateful for your wisdom. UPDATE: What started as a 5-star rating is now a 1-star. Where did the doctrine go?!?! It seems like that was just a platform to get listeners and now it’s straight-up another news channel. I miss what this used to be.

B-radoc82Finally!I knew there were others that felt the way I did! Great podcast!

dragonriderdude⚡️Brilliant !I’ve been listening to a few Come Follow Me podcasts for almost two years now, and just discovered Cwic perusing online videos. •Greg’s insight is a welcome mind to other greats that enrich my study and understanding of how to boldly stand for Christ and Truth in this fallen & wicked world.
-
GootbeanCwic MediaThe topics and content from Greg Matsen’s podcast is terrific. It is the rare combination of inspiration and intellectual stimulus. I listen to this podcast almost daily because it addresses so many current issues of the day. Yet, the podcast is firmly grounded in gospel truths. Thank you.

seedubeweAwesome showGreat insights

McCookie BakerAwesome echo chamber for orthodox, super-conservative MormonsIf you already hate anything to do with social justice, hate nuance, and love Jordan B. Peterson, this is the podcast for you! If you drink, you could make a fun drinking game where you do a shot anytime the words/phrases CRT, critical social justice, post-modernism, Marxism, academia, identitarianism, clear-thinking, or parse are used. You’d be drunk in about 45 seconds. If you fear any kind of change and are still trying to justify denying salvation to black people until 1978 as “god’s timing”, then you will love everything this guy has to say!

UofU11160An Insightful close readingI never miss it. First, the host reads the scriptures. Instead of personal stories, the discussion is closely tied to the language in the scriptures. Second, the host takes a disciplined approach to finding themes and patterns in the scriptures. His website explains the “lenses” he uses. As a result, this podcast focuses on the scriptures and provides unique insights. A study of the scriptures.
-
