As a fan of the series and a nobody. It’s refreshing to hear the undeniable love for the series. The friendship between the host is apparent and create a natural humor. Karl sounds like Michael Cera so that’s a plus and always has a Simpsons joke in chamber. Curtis has his booming laughter and a gift for covering the small details. Alex’s insight as a first time adds an interesting perspective for the listener as well as his care in editing. Love these guys even if I have no chance of being on the pod. I enjoy every episode they release and find myself laughing in the middle of lawn work. As a fellow musician it’s great they add in little sections about the music. This should be much bigger then it is.

So if somebody were to come up with the perfect platonic mixture of index analysis, years, long friendship, wonderful chemistry, and off the wall goof assery it would be this show. In fact, if these guys didn’t exist, we would have to invent them. Also, apparently, there is no sun in Elden Ring and Snow Villers is canonically, 7 feet tall. 🙏❤️🧐

I love final fantasy and with rebirth coming out soon, I’ve been feeling really nostalgic. I found my ffvii file on the switch about 40 hours in and didn’t feel like replaying the disc one content. Listening to this podcast has helped refresh me with the story and learn lots of new things too about how other people play the game. Thank you to the hosts for a great recap and fun listen!

I recently discovered this show and am on the last episode of FFVII. It’s a fantastic show. The hosts are entertaining and provide (mostly) correct details about the games. The episodes are long but in a good way. Highly recommend if you’re into discussions about 25 year old video games!

I’ve looked high and low for a final fantasy let’s play in podcast form that goes deep while still being fun to listen to about each game in the Final Fantasy series and ladies and gentlemen this is that show. As someone who’s come to the Final Fantasy series relatively later than most folks it’s been really fun to play Final Fantasy VII and then listen to each episode. Highly recommended 5 star show!

I am a huge Final Fantasy fan, so I had high hopes for this podcast. Unfortunately, it is not for me. Several things about this podcast turned me off: 1. I am not a fan of guest episodes, but I can tolerate them if done well. This podcast uses guests quite a bit, and sometimes more than one at a time. This results in three to four people talking over and interrupting each other for over an hour, which I find more irritating than entertaining. 2. The hosts and guests say the word “like” as a filler word every…few…seconds. “And I was like,” “And he was like,” “So, like,” “The game is like,” “like,” “like,” “like.” If you took a drink every time someone said “like” you’d be dead of alcohol poisoning within the first fifteen minutes of the episode. I’m not exaggerating. 3. The hosts and guests constantly veer off topic, to the point where I found myself fast forwarding through a lot. In a similar vein, they run jokes into the ground. If one host or guest makes a joke, the podcast is now off topic for several minutes because every host and guest has to add on to it. If the original joke was funny, it’s not anymore because they’ve beaten it to death. 4. Sometimes the hosts and guests fail to do their research ahead of recording, which leads to them stating incorrect information about the game they are talking about. I hate to leave a poor review because it’s clear that a lot of love has gone into this podcast. However, for the above reasons, I don’t enjoy it much. I think the hosts have produced this podcast with their enjoyment in mind more so than the enjoyment of potential listeners. As an alternative, I highly recommend Retrograde Amnesia.

I legitimately feel like I’m hanging out with these guys every week I listen. Love these dudes so much!!!

I love y’all. You make me laugh while I’m at work and I don’t even have to have played the game to imagine what is happening in it. Also quality sound production. Thanks for making this podcast and doing the play through homework on stream for everyone! It’s definitely like a book club for EVERY EFFIN FF GAME. Keep it up homies!

3 games in and the three of them have truly found their stride. They have made seasons for a classic, a masterpiece, and the first game, and each host brings fun, engaging conversations and explorations of their personal feelings regarding the games as a whole. I have been blessed to go on this journey with friends old and new, thanks to this podcast and their discord. For me, this podcast and the community that has been built from it has been a bastion for me, especially during the pandemic. Looking forward to FFIV. NOW would be a good time to start listening. Good stuff to come.

More than any other podcast, I would point to this one for those of you interested in the Final Fantasy stories, but don't have time to play themselves. The hosts are great and play off each other really well, editing and quality is top notch and you can tell how much they're enjoying both the games as well as the podcast. Can't recommend enough!

This is such a good podcast for many reasons - as a longtime fan of the Final Fantasy series the idea of a "book club" style re-play of every game in the series is super appealing to me, but the hosts are so DANG FUN. Their chemistry is super tasty, and the production work by Alex with sound effects and music adds to what could be (but never is) just some dry video game conversation. They never linger on stuff that's pointless, they ask good questions about unexplained story content, the humor is super inclusive and the non-spoilery nature of it makes the show even better because I have active investment in hearing said producer (who hasn't played through the games) have reactions to events as they unfold. Also much love to any podcast who promotes solidarity for sworkers. You the real ones.

It’s been 24 hours since I decided to give this podcast a try, and I’m already on episode 7. The chemistry between the hosts is amazing, and it’s easy to tell that they’re just a bunch of wonderful dudes who really love them some good ol’ FF (and the Simpsons, and Alien Ant Farm, etc 😂) keep up the good work! Also, Mako smells like that old 90’s Nickelodeon gak.

Man I don’t even care that much about FF games or any JRPGs for that matter but I keep on coming back for the hosts.

I do not play video games because they are expensive and they distract me from my school work. I thought I played Donkey Kong once but in actuality a man in a gorilla suit threw a brick at my head while at a Shakira concert. When I attempted to give this internet radio program a zero star review Russian hackers changed it to 5 stars. I have emailed Steven Jobs several times to remedy this issue but he has yet to contact me back. If this continues I will be forced to have the police arrest the Apple company of computers. Also, one of the hosts of this podcast once came to my house and broke my toilet.

To be fair, I have only played two Final Fantasy games in my life and in one I had to carry a chalice the entire time while everyone else had fun.
