    Disappointed
Jesse is funny. It’s disappointing that they added in a woman to cohost and Cameron speaks over her and steals her relevant buzz every week. He doesn’t do that to any other host.

    Long time listener
I’ve been a listener since 2014. There have been many cast changes over the years, some better than others. However, the recent addition has drastically lowered the quality of this show. I’m not judging character, but the middle school boy humor gets old quick and feels very inappropriate at times, especially coming from an adult. There also seems to be an ignorance about current events that is in contrast to the term “relevant.” It may be an act, but it is at times distracting and even offensive. I find myself fast forwarding through several sections of the episodes or skipping altogether.

    That intro music
Help me, Jesus, that intro music is the worst. I’m serious, it’s truly awful. Please please change it.. I frequently turn y’all off before you ever get started bc I can’t make it through the music.

    Lose the misfit
Marty needs to think before he speaks. The whole vibe of the show has tanked. His random blurts are so unnecessary. He’s not funny, he’s annoying!

    Good Podcast
This is a good podcast to help have fun, think deeply, and experience some of the love of Jesus of Nazareth. It will be weird not having Jamie as a host anymore, but it will be good to have Marty step in. Welcome, Marty!

Would 0 star. Company seems very scammy
I used to love Relevant. In 2021 my wife bought me the annual print copy for Christmas, it never arrived, they never made it, they never sent anything out about it. I’ve emailed, messaged, called, done everything to try and get our money back. Last year they started this premium service with all these promises. We signed up for a year and didn’t get most of what is promised. When we tried to cancel the link on their site doesn’t work. So calling in to cancel and never got a person or a return call from all my voicemails. Absolutely absurd for a company, let alone one claiming to be in the Christian space.

    Longer Interviews
I just listened to the Melodie Melone Interview and I didn’t think the interview was long enough

    Frustrating but overall good
Kind of frustrating how Cameron Strang always seems to find a way to hijack everyone’s slices.

Prop is a way better cohost than D Minor he’s go to go!
But it's a great podcast and really enjoy their humor style, it's like we grew up together! That’s how I use to feel, but since Derek Minor joined the cast . He consistently brings divisive comments . I like his music as well. Before when they had Prop on. He was always an insightful positive comments to add. Derek not so much . I get that Cameron had some issues a few months back . But I feel now they totally swing it the other way too far.

    Magazine is a scam
Podcast is great… except they comment on things like how Twitter fired it’s customer service people… and then Relevant Magazine’s customer service is TERRIBLE. Paid for the annual print edition, never received it, they won’t respond to emails or customer service requests, and it is STILL available for purchase in their store. SHAMEFUL. Taking our money. Do better

Relevant Media Group Defrauded My Daughter
In December 2021, my college attending daughter used some of her limited resources to purchase the Relevant yearly print edition for me as a gift. Relevant charged her debit card $48.72 and has still not sent the product well over a year later. All efforts to reach them have failed. They do not respond. This is fraud. They have stolen from my daughter. I would appreciate a refund or that they send the product my daughter purchased. Be wary of sending Relevant any money for any product. They have a history of not fulfilling their obligations that goes back many years. Check the BBB and articles written by other Christian magazines for verification.

    Invisible group of friends
It’s like having an extra set of clothes and great friends with you on the go! They help you get through the week with a healthy balance of laughter and serious up-to-date issues that make you stop and think. I most enjoy listening when I’m outdoors, last year they helped me through a long below-freezing backpacking weekend. Love you all!

Used to be a great listen
Listen from the beginning then the scandal killed the soul of it. Basically Jesse was left to carry the whole podcast.

    Listened since the beginning
I have enjoyed this podcast since it came out. The cast has been through ups and downs over the years, and they talk about real issues and problems and joys. I enjoy the humor and seriousness that happens. Glad that it is more diverse. I do enjoy a woman on it, at times that is lacking, and I want to see myself represented. It brings a different tone to conversations.

Please change the theme song I’m begging you
Is it just me that cringes and jumps every time I hit play on an episode of the Relevant Podcast because I’m going to have to hear the opening theme song? It starts so jarring and it isn’t smooth and honestly makes me want to never listen to the podcast again because it’s so hard for me to get through. But I like the interviews and parts of this podcast! A real catch 22 over here.

    I sense a grift
I enjoyed this show and listened for a long time. But something is going very wrong at Relevant. After taking peoples’ money for a pre-order of their annual edition magazine (for 2021, mind you) the company has gone completely dark in delivering this product. In December of 2021, order confirmations said orders would soon be “ready to ship.” No update was made again to customers until April of 2022 when an email went out saying the magazine which has experienced delayed would be shipping “in a few weeks.” It’s now September of 2022 — 10 months since Relevant has received payment and they are leaving every communication path unanswered. For months I’ve been calling every help number on the website, every support email, contacting on socials. Nothing from the organization, team, or the podcast hosts (whose reputation must be tied to the company that is now paying them with money from customers that have been taken advantage of.) At this point, it sure seems like a grift that everyone at the christian-branded Relevant is willing to go along with.

too much talking, interviews are 25% of the episode
I definitely think the Relevant podcast is a great idea, and they really do have a wide assortment of guests to speak to different subjects. However, the first 30-40 minutes are just chit chat between the hosts (and it’s not entertaining or groundbreaking subject matter, it feels more annoying than anything), leaving the interview to 20-25 minutes. I feel like it’s better time spent to look for interviews with the guests on other shows who actually spend that episode engaging with the featured guest. Otherwise, skip more than halfway into the episode and you might land near the last quarter of the show on an advertisement, and the guest will come after that. It kind of feels like false advertisement because the interviews are cut so short and lack much conversation and depth due to the time.

    Kinda the best podcast ever!

    Society & Culture > Christianity
That’s where this podcast should be in my honest opinion Drinking and the such is laughed at in a comedic sense to say it’s okay and just the minute discussions of bringing in all kinds of figures can be an issue if you are a Christian or even a new Christian listening to this podcast And in each episode it seems like they wanna grab from cultural ideologies that are “relevant” instead of Who is The Relevant: God Himself. If this is truly a Christian podcast then why isn’t there a Christian or biblical perspective in and around this podcast or the ones hosting and co-hosting? Also why all the celebrities? If it’s about God and how relevant He is to their life and relationship with Him: perfect! But why celebrities who clearly are NOT believers and even if they are say and do things that are not at all of God?
  • zoverflow
The caliber of guests is insane!
Relevant does an outstanding job getting incredible high-profile guests on the show, and having conversations that show their humanity in a very refreshing way! The hosts are also funny, which makes it extra enjoyable!

    Too many changes
I’ve listened to the relevant podcast for years. Although I really enjoy the show, the recent update to Relevant Plus has deterred me from continuing to listen. When the new medium was introduced, Cameron listed why it made sense from a business perspective but didn’t really list the benefits. And that to keep the same access you currently have, you have to pay (even though it really is a small amount). Luckily, Tyler was there to explain some benefits but really the model of “pay us to keep the same access or don’t and you will have less access than you currently have” didn’t sit well with me. Example: the podcast already comes out fairly late compared to other shows. I know podcasts take a long time to edit, but when the show is recorded multiple days before release, their discussions on relevant topics are out of date and in lots of scenarios, no longer reflect the current situation (there are many instances over the last year when fast moving topics are covered on the show but are long out of date because the show was not recorded sooner to release date). While for some shows this may not be a big deal, Relevant tries to keep up with current events and main headlines. They are always behind/situations change so quickly now that having the podcast come out later means the discussion you hear may not be relevant any longer. I already felt that tension, but continued to listen. However, now, if you don’t pay, you will get the show even later than before, meaning the current events and thoughtful discussions will be even more behind and lack context. I understand that switching to the relevant plus model makes sense, but it is hard to see it as a benefit as much as a “money grab” and trying to push listeners and subscribers to pay for something they have been used to getting for free for years. If the model switches to where the subscription gives me more than what I originally had access to, instead of taking away access for the free version, I’d consider subscribing.

Lots of fun, but beware of their use of “faith” and “god”
I listened to this podcast for a solid decade (from the early years, I started in ‘06), and these guys are so funny, with so much humor rooted in 90s youth group culture, in which I participated and can relate to. However, in the last several years, it became very apparent that all of Relevant Magazine’s references to “god” are not really to actual God (capital G). So many articles and interviews get so excited because a celebrity says a few words about a generic faith, and this is celebrated as if these people are God’s agents reaching into the depraved world of entertainment. Though so many are using the term as they would phrases like “higher power” or “something bigger than myself” (and many actually do use these terms). Relevant has gotten so excited about celebrated these New Age or humanistic beliefs that they have lost sight of what I think Cameron meant to do when he started this. Or many I was fooling myself in believing that. All this to say, this podcast will likely get you laughing, but don’t refer your non-Christian friends…they will be hearing the wrong gospel. I still listen every once in a while, but I don’t last very long before I cringe at the socially popular but scripturally depraved ideas they celebrate.
  • Relevance to the World
Honest Review: Not Biblically Strong or Theologically Sound
I don’t see in these people a deep love for the Word of God and a great revering of the Law of God. This podcast can be funny, but on a Christian podcast I want to hear solid Biblical content from people who are pursuing holiness. This is the will of God: our sanctification! “If a church puts being relevant to the world ahead of the gospel, then it becomes irrelevant and loses the gospel. First things must be kept first, second things second, otherwise the first and second things will be ruined.” -Audrey Swank 1 John 2:15-16 says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.” And Jesus told His disciples, “You will be hated by all for my name’s sake” (Luke 21:17). Just as the Son of Man was rejected by men, so will all who take up their cross and follow Him. The people on this podcast seem to be gracist feelalogians. Gracism is when people only talk about grace, grace, grace without any appreciation for why we need it—the desperate wickedness of our hearts. Amazing grace saved a WRETCH like me, not a good person like me! And a feelalogian is someone who uses their feelings to build their theology. May we live in the power of the Blood of Christ!

    Hands down my favourite podcast
It’s also funny to read the other reviews. I had no idea they were so woke and also communists. I want buy tickets to see an event with Jessie in person!

    Consistent LOLs
I have always liked the podcast and laughed with Cameron and Jessie but adding voices like Prop and Derek really helped me get into the show because I could hear my opinion on it. Thanks Cameron for really pivoting and adding diversity to the mix. This podcast can be deep, hilarious, and often challenges the Christian status quo with insightful conversations on faith and culture. -your Dtwn Orlando neighbor

    That other Christian podcast
I have been a long time listener, first time reviewer. This podcast has been around for years, and I have been around for just about half that time. I remember when it was just guys on the show, I remember the dark times, and I am thoroughly enjoying the now times. I can’t help but laugh out loud on quite a few occasions. I enjoy the thought provoking interviews. The games are always stellar, although sometimes they can be hit or miss, but they are consistent and I love them. I have been able to check out more music, movies, and authors through this podcast than any other. And I can’t wait for the next episode to drop. I want to see this podcast continue to excel and be around for years to come. You all are doing amazing work at Relevant. Awesome!

    Best weekly podcast out here
I have been listening to Relevant for about a year now and I still look forward to every episode. I have found no there podcast that keeps me updated with pop culture but with a Christian perspective, and never fails to make me laugh!!! I love the whole cast, they are unique intelligent and God driven. 🤍

    Fun group to listen to
I like the wide array of topics on this show and that they do not shy away from the tough topics of the current day.

    Awful
The show is awful. The hosts invite brilliant guests into the show & then make listeners sit through 30 minutes of execrable dreck before they get to the advertised interview. Neither funny nor interesting.

    Great pod!
Grace!! Have some. Can’t believe all the reviews questioning the SALVATION of people they don’t know because they are “woke”. There is absolutely no shortage of conservative view points to be heard in Christian culture. Those people complaining that it’s too political, well politics is pretty relevant to culture. I would love to see Relevant do a news and politics pod. While I do tend to be a bit more conservative than some of the hosts, I think this branch of Christian thought is very under represented. Great pod that I have been listening to for years! Funny and thoughtful hosts, and good segments. People, please remember this is a podcast for entertainment not a sermon at your church. It’s ok to have differing opinions about non-salvation issues.

    I never miss an episode!
As an American living abroad for seven years, you all have become my connection to America! Like others have mentioned over the past weeks and months, I’m not convinced by the current make-up of the cast.... Edited 2/8/20: I still love the podcast, glad that Annie is gone (her voice and laugh were grating). I do miss having a woman on regular rotation, still miss Joy and Shauna before her.
  • JulieVuk
    A must listen.. and laugh!
Have been listening to the Relevant podcast for years & it always makes me laugh!! In between the laughter there are great conversations about real life and how to love others in real life… and updates on faith & culture to keep it real!!
  • bab1972
Glad to see more people waking up.
A Huff Post wantabe that mostly lies and clearly goes against scripture but pretends they are the saviors of the world and Jesus was a free love hippie. The problem begins with the founder and host who hates God now because he is a child that can't look in the mirror and own his sin and pride. It cost him his marriage and instead of looking to Jesus to fix him he looked to politics to cover his sin issues so now he just spreads lies because the truth offends him. I pray for him, but no one should listen to people who replace the truth with lies.
  • Stix3954
    Politically Manipulative
Relevant says itss at the intersection of faith and culture but mostly you will hear about how to fit in with popular culture. It is far more about political stances then faith and does not want to consider or even hear the other point of view. They often mischaracterize anyone who is politically or theologically different, creating political rules and gatekeeping that reminds me of pharisees. The one star if for Jesse’s humor, which you can find on the Ironclad podcasts.
  • MicBaiKea
    Disturbing pro abortion undertones
I’m not sure what being “Relevant” has to do with the Gospel. Certainly meeting people where they are, showing compassion and empathy, giving generously with zeal...I actually like most of what I’ve heard but some of the more gossipy parts of the show were not my favorite. However I could not continue subscribing after learning of their push for pro-choice. Abortion ends life and CHRIST is the author of life. When we sin how is our sin justified merely because some of us are in tougher spots than others? All sin is costly. We should show grace to everyone but solely embracing grace while diminishing the truth is not loving. In the same way championing truth solely with no grace is also very unloving. I find this to be a huge cause of division in The Church today. It’s both grace and truth, not either one or the other.

    Sadly unsubscribing
Relevant was my go to podcast for the past five years. It truly was one of the ways I was challenged most in my faith. The discussions and guests were so insightful and really made me question why I believed certain things I did (in a good way). Lately when I listen I find that afterwards I feel more anxious and depressed. I’m not sure if it is the over the top sarcasm or just the way they talk about others in general but it leaves me feeling down. In a year where most people are craving hope, this podcast has been leaving me feeling hopeless. It really wasn’t one comment or conversation that turned me off, more just realizing that when I see there is a new episode, I have absolutely no desire to listen to it.

    The goat
Literally the most fun podcast to listen to. Didn’t start listening until last October and I’ve already listened to almost 2 years worth of content. I’d love longer shows, (sort of how they used to be in early 2020) because it helps my time pass a lot quicker at work and makes me smile longer. But I also known you can’t really make the decision based on me lol. Regardless, my absolute favorite podcast. Love hearing y’all talk as friends and not business partners.

    Love it! New listener
Started listening because of Jamie Ivey. I really enjoy the happy hour and I have come to enjoy the Relevant podcast as well. I appreciate all of the hosts input and I feel they all mesh well. Jesse is hilarious. Jamie is a breath of fresh air. I can appreciate a podcast full of believers that have fresh perspectives. So many times we expect believers to be all one uniform cut out copy Christian. This show presents what the body of Christ looks like. People from all races and different walks of life. They touch on topics that you might not hear addressed in the church.

    New Title to Podcast
Too much minutia. Not enough Relevant content. Podcast needs a new title.

    Forever listener
The Relevant Podcast was my introduction to podcasts WAY back in 2006. I have listened to these voices for 15 years and they have made me think about my faith and what it means to be a thoughtful Christian for the entirety of my after-college adult life. Forever thankful for the way they both challenge me and also how they make me laugh.

    Sad to unsubscribe
I’ve been a listener since 2012 but have been very sad at the turn the show has taken lately. I don’t so much mind the liberal leaning. I like to hear all sides. The way the information is presented, however, is oftentimes cynical and bitingly sarcastic. Too many fingers pointed. Especially at the church. What I’d love to here: Who’s doing it right? Where is positive change occurring and how can we get involved. There is a place for constructive criticism but the show has gone so far past that. There are great things happening out there if you only look for it. The podcast seems to be narrowed in on what is going wrong. That is far from an original take. Social media is more uplifting. And that’s saying something.

Great on pop-culture and faith, great guest interviews, poor on news reporting
I listen to both episodes every week, this show is part of my regular routine! Love relevant, love their takes on faith and pop culture, and they have a great range of interesting and “relevant” guests and do well interviewing them. I’m almost always left with a mix of entertained, challenged and inspired, with each of those varying in levels each episode. My only true critique is that their journalism about news issues is not consistently accurate, especially when reporting on events/accusations from more than a couple of years ago. Most times, probably 19/20, it’s pretty solid reporting. But unfortunately there have been a few instances where I heard something that I knew of before and remembered it differently, and then found very credible (and secular, and not right-wing) news outlets that had reported on those older stories in a way that “debunks” the false accusation presented by Relevant, in the podcast and online. It’s a bummer when that happens, it’s not always the case but it does happen often enough to warrant fact-checking bigger news items I hear on this podcast. I’ve heard this podcast drag in particular a very credible Christian organization through the mud with inaccurate reporting, one that does so much good for literally millions in need around the world. In that specific instance, it took literally 3 minutes of a google search to find multiple credible news sources had debunked that rumor, including the original source of the false report!! (I sent those sources to relevant, no response from them, which was disappointing after subscribing for the print on and off for a decade). I was mortified by the story, because I knew for multiple reasons that the accusations were not true, including from personal experience and then from confirming through researching the news stories. (To show how poor the journalism was, simply looking at a map debunked the story, let alone the other details presented by other news outlets). I don’t think they realize how that type of inaccurate reporting can really hurt those who the false reporting is about, and can influence their listeners. Again, I love Relevant! I appreciate their transparency, not being fake-happy-Christians but really reflecting genuine Christianity. I’m thankful for their fearlessness to speak up about social justice and our political-party-less-Jesus. I’m thankful for their willingness to talk about uncomfortable news about spiritual leaders that fall and help listeners process the range of feelings that news causes. And I’m thankful for their voice and their efforts to continue to be heard and inspire those who hear.

Great if you like woke communists
This show was terrible. Lots of woke comments and anti white racism. Plus uncritical support for pro abortion openly communist senator because he’s a pastor. Then one of the hosts made a comment about how she’s on “the right side of history” - history will be the judge of that. These hosts are all completely full of themselves, and so busy being relevant that they forgot to be Christ followers. Quickest unsubscribe ever.

    Make it longer please.
Please make it longer. It is hilarious and I would enjoy another 1/2 hour each episode. This is my opinion and I am trying not to be hostile, because they get enough of that from social media and the magazine. It is truly my favorite podcast.
  • Elvin Martin
    “Relevant” = Woke.
Fairly one-dimensional perspectives on relevant issues. You are allowed to not think critically about issues that have drastic implications for half the country. I don’t have to listen to your opinions, especially when they are presented as facts. So I won’t. Goodbye.
  • happyHappyJOY
    I love you guys
I love this podcast, and I love the cast. Derek is hilarious. Jamie is a breath of fresh air. Cameron is hopeful. Jesse is the soul of the show. Thank you for continuing to present relevant content and for calling out the tension we are all feeling in the church. It's so helpful.

    Christians?
Sadly disappointed. If these are today’s relevant Christians were in big trouble. All they seemed to do is talk negatively about the “white church” or I guess white people as some kind of freaks. I go to church with all races of people and yes the pastors are white but we’re all there to worship and hear the message of Gods word. They seem to think their worldly Christian light living makes their views normal and anybody else's convictions hilarious , laughing and joking about things that I agree are bizarre but are definitely not they way Jesus would talk about others. They have nothing relevant biblically to talk about, plugging HBO, Netflix, streaming services, comedians, and tv shows.
