SyrenmuseListen! Listen! Can you hear the wind?Edited to add this paragraph 2/19/25 Sadly, I have to amend this a year later from my original review. I was very happy to be part of their discord community. Gave an honest suggestion in their suggestions area, which was then mocked by these podcasters on their podcast. It was hurtful and I hope they never repeat this to any future fan. —————— Original review: By the light and my hope of salvation this Wheel of Time podcast is a must listen for new and old to the WOT series of books by Robert Jordan. Unique in that Matt, is new to the series, while Enn is his guide (who tries very, very hard, not to spoiler—And succeeds!) They take each book and the TV series, chapter-by-chapter/episode-by-episode, and break them down with hilarious detours of commentary and occasional Mandelbrot fractals of pop culture. You. Will. Love. Them.

Joshua_DouglasPerfect accompaniment to WOT and a healthy bowl of grainsThis show adds depth to my understanding of the WOT world and I always look forward to finishing the next chapter so I can listen to the next episode! Since I’ve started listening, my GrapeNuts consumption had increased 10 fold, and the doctors say that my blood pressure has never been lower. Pro-tip: Enjoy those grapey nuts with some freshly microwaved frozen blueberries for best results.

Wheel ChazealThe Podcast so nice I reviewed it twiceMatt and En are positively insightful and hilarious. The best first time reader podcast out there. No shade or water thrown. I laugh out loud every episode. Grape nuts are gross. Charmed is great. This podcast, you could not underrate.

dorkchicSo good!I’m currently on my fourth reread of The Wheel of Time and started listening to some first time read alongs to add to the experience. Matt and En were my first and are still my fave. Smart, funny discussion wrapped in a warm, deep friendship that you can hear in every word. I highly recommend!

Jake ChazealFantastic fun!Oh no…another incredible first-time-reader WoT podcast for me to binge. Twist my arm. Seriously great stuff. I love their takes on the series and I adore the bits about food. Two people who share my appreciation (and perhaps addiction!) to food.

TwistamenorCelebrate good timesWith these two, running the podcast you’re in for a great time. If you love the WOT and enjoy queer humor and impromptu cultural references, this is the one for you. I lol with ev er ry episode!

Kirk0422A Light in the DarknessA few tragedies in the last six months culminated in the mourning via a weekend deep dive into Freddie Mercury and Queen. Today I listened to Matt and Enn and they facilitated the beginning of the climb out of the darkness. Their humor and passion combine to create the warmth of old friends.

Joseph RosephFun and sometimes insightful, but not alwaysLove Enn and Matt, they've got a fantastic podcast on their hands. I burned through the first two seasons of the show in a little over a week and am now stuck waiting for season three to begin, for which I will never forgive them. Seriously though if you're a new reader or a veteran there's so much to love here. They're fun, goofy, sometimes insightful, and sometimes outright hliarious. If you're a wot fan and are hurting for wot-related content this is the podcast you're looking for.

matrimcauthA DelightReally the title says it all. Even if some of their pronunciations drive me crazy (sigh-deen and sigh-dahr yall 😂), their perspectives are fun, their references are all over the place, their energy makes me feel very at home, and the dynamic of old reader/new reader is obviously such a great draw for a somewhat longtime fan of WoT like myself. I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself when I finish catching up (on Oct 29’s episode) and have to wait! Maybe join the emailing/correcting crew, but focused on the pronunciations I’m confident in 😉 Felix Sedai (they/them)

NerdyKnittyA Fun Listen For New & Veteran WoT Readers!A very entertaining duo! I love how they weave in pop culture references and song lyrics, and often go on tangents about food! 😊 I listen to several WoT podcasts, and my favorite "flavor" always includes new readers. As someone that has read the series several times, it's fun to experience it from the new reader's perspective. Enn does a great job of making sure Matt picks up the important details without spoilers.

Edgar ThompsonA wheel of what?!As an avid reader, I was heartbroken when I listened to this podcast. Two people throwing it in my face that I've yet to read a fantastic series like this! Their wonderful conversation pulled me in and made me want to find it and read it all. This is a great, well done podcast. Just amazing. Thank you.

Hard Parking PodcastI hate reading, hate book reviews...But I really like the way these two do the podcast and book review in a way that makes it fun. They use real life pop culture references randomly which is right up my humor ally.

xescargotxFunny + Informative (Spoiler Free!)I love them both so much. This is my first read through of the books and I’ve been following along with the corresponding episodes. Enn and Matt are hilarious and I’m so glad I get to go on this journey with them. During these weird times we’re living it they have been so comforting to me. Really can not recommend this highly enough!

J-WarA great way to refresh your WOT memoriesThese two are honestly great and although I wasn’t sure at first, I can say now (several episodes in) that I’m definitely hooked. Their self-proclaimed book club meets read-through meets reaction video is a pretty great way to get yourself reacquainted with the Wheel of Time saga. I read up to book 10 about 12 years ago and couldn’t get any further, and have been experiencing guilt about not finishing the series. Now all these years later I’ve almost forgotten who’s who and what’s what. Listening to these two is like a breath of fresh air and simultaneously being reunited with good memories. One is a seasoned WOT veteran, the other is experiencing this series for the first time. This is a great combo and I enjoy hearing what they think about each character and what will happen next. Sometimes they ramble, sometimes they obsess over the food and meals, sometimes they don’t have all their LOTR references correct (“They’re called NAZGUL, NAZGUL!” I yelled in my car one time.) but man are they funny and their tangents are still enjoyable. I find their mistakes endearing, and their struggles pronouncing all these crazy names and words heroic. Mad props to them. If you’re like me and you felt stuck on the series, or you want to refresh before the TV show comes out, give this podcast a listen.

Committed320Honest, Solid, EntertainingFull disclosure, I am a family member of one of the hosts. However, I genuinely enjoy the banter, friendship, and critical analysis of both Matt and Enn. Although I have not sampled any other Wheel of Time podcasts, I have listened to many, many fandom podcasts of varying styles, and I think these two have real potential. Even the expectedly rougher early episodes are well-paced, entertaining, and are just generally refreshing and nostalgic trips back to these wonderful (mostly) novels. Looking forward to the show adaptation reviews!
