thenostalgicmillennialpodcastThe Definitive Fairy Tale PodcastCassie and Drew explore our favorite fairy tales in such great depth. They analyze, not only the tale, but different adaptations with great insight, knowledge, and hilarity. Binge or find your favorite tale covered for a great time.

UltimateDisneyGeekLove Of Slippers and SpindlesGrowing up loving fairytales and musical theatre, I’m so glad to finally have an outlet to listen to other people gush about their love for it as well! Drew and Cassie are so knowledgeable on both and I love tuning in every week to hear about adaptations I’m familiar with or learning about other great takes on the monthly tale. I really appreciate their discussions of modern contexts for these famous stories, like consent and adaptations of non-white stories.

Kailah E BuckwalterEnjoyable and informativeThe passion that Drew and Cassie have for fairytales definitely bleeds through in this podcast. Both of them are very knowledgeable about the lore of the stories themselves, and do excellent analysis comparing different adaptions. Plus their voices are very calming!

KateCrackernutsOne of my favorites!I first discovered this podcast through Tumblr and it’s been one of my quarantine go-tos. I love fairy tales and adaptations, and this is a great place to discover some new ones. So far their best has probably been the string of Rapunzel episodes, which not only introduced me to a lot of new takes on the story, but also gave a good look into the tale’s origin from Petrosinella to Persinette to the infamous rewrites that the Grimms did. Admittedly, this is not a history podcast, so it isn’t exactly the place to go to learn more about the stories or probe the psychology of them Bruno Bettelheim-style, but for what it is, it’s a great book review / recommendations podcast that’s helped me through the pandemic. Looking forward to what they’ll cover next! And on the off chance they see this and want suggestions — - Tales from Muppetland: The Frog Prince - “Sexing the Cherry” by Jeanette Winterson - “Gingerbread”, “Boy Snow Bird”, and “What is Not Yours is Not Yours” by Helen Oyeyemi - Tim Burton’s Hansel and Gretel - Lotte Reiniger’s animations (especially Prince Achmed) - Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child - “Haroun and the Sea of Stories” and “Midnight’s Children” by Salman Rushdie - “The Wrath and the Dawn” by Renee Ahdieh - The Wolf House (Chilean “Three Little Pigs” reimagining from 2018)

lydiahosekMy new favorite podcastEvery episode is fun and informative. The hosts' enthusiasm for their subject is contagious. I love learning about new versions of these stories and hearing their takes on old favorites, whether they're celebrating a great adaptation or giving a fair and open-minded critique of a flawed one. I've finally caught up and am excited to see what's next!

MadalynlovesmusicalsTruly Magical!!I found this podcast through Prince Kai Fan Pod—and boy, am I glad I did!! This podcast is so awesome!! I love learning all about the original versions of fairy tales and hearing how adaptations include elements of them. I love the criteria aspect of it—how the hosts analyze if the adaptations answer questions that the original fairy tales left open-ended. The hosts themselves are so fantastic!! Being a musical theatre kid myself who works at an escape game company and dreams of working at Disney, we have a lot in common and I want to be their friend!! When they discuss things I haven’t read or seen, I feel immersed in the story and don’t want to stop listening, and when they discuss things I have seen/read, I delight in their appreciation of things that I love about that book/movie. Their selections of what to cover are SO diverse and it’s amazing! I could talk about this podcast forever, but instead I’ll just applaud and encourage Cassie and Drew for their marvelously magical podcast and urge anyone who reads this to listen immediately!! ;)

I❤️blue!Bingeing on all things CinderellaI’m really enjoying this podcast! I’m curious to know if you will also include the following movies as part of your Cinderella discussion: “The Glass Slipper” (1955) with Leslie Caron and Michael Wilding, “The Slipper and the Rose” (1976) with Richard Chamberlain and Gemma Craven?

1lilsparkTruly MagicalI first heard about this podcast through Drew’s tumblr and being a fan of fairytale adaptations myself I knew I needed to give this a shot. I’ve highly enjoyed Cinderella month and am looking forward to hearing your critical analysis on Sleeping Beauty and beyond and maybe even discovering new adaptations along the way

Livs 12345I’m not a podcast person but I am a fairy tale person. These two have somehow made the perfect podcast for me. For the first time of my life, I listened to 40 minutes of podcasters talking and somehow it was over???????? They were done talking?????? And I hadn’t paused 3 times and got distracted by other things?????? truly astounding. They do their research, they’re fun to listen to, and they both love Ella Enchanted. What’s not to like?
