    Apathetic heart of gold
I don’t like doing things, it annoys me, and I never leave reviews because that means doing things. So for me to actually review this podcast I enjoy is a big deal, because I genuinely love everything they do and hope they continue to do it. Vadim is my good boy paladin and I love the dynamic between trill and mag….im on episode 50 and I hope nothing terrible has happed to them. Welp, off I go into my cave to not review another thing for the next 30 years. Cheers

    Nice!
I enjoy the GenX vibes and the immersive engagement of this Gold Record. As a GM and a creator, what you all do to make this happens is not easy, but it is impactful and genuinely appreciated. Wise, Wise Gaming

    Great Actual Play!
Started from Episode 1 earlier this week and am cruising through. Cast is very funny and they do a great job of explaining Pathfinder 2E mechanics as they encounter them

    Fantastic and fun actual play
I’ve spent the better part of the year catching up (still working on it) and think this is in the top tier of PF2e actual plays. With a GM committed to bringing the town and dungeon to life and players who commit to their characters, this podcast highlights what is great about actual plays and the system as a whole. Also the discord is great with a really wonderful community!

    Great Every Time
This show got me excited to dive into Pathfinder and helped give me the confidence to run the game for my friends. The host, Lars, is a fantastic GM and producer of the show. The players Robin, David, Zoe and R. Matt are all entertaining and delightful. As both a way to learn Pathfinder and as consistently stellar entertainment Tabletop Gold is great every time.

Tabletop Gold makes me excited for Mondays
They also do Sunday live premieres on Youtube. Best TTRPG actual-play podcast in the biz. Can’t wait for Starch Madness!

Fantastic PF2e content and tv recommendations
Found this podcast because my TTRPG group was switching to Pathfinder 2e. Great live play, with helpful rules explanations along the way. Also, introduced me to the excellent “How to With John Wilson”, which is not related to Pathfinder. Unless you really think about it.

    Good Pod Time
The fabulous audio hooked me and the subsequent shenanigans locked me in. The Pathfinder play is well tuned for beginners and is augmented by the wit and long running jokes of the players. It’s honestly makes me go, um, eaaarrrgggghhhhh!

This is the best RPG podcast.
This is the best RPG podcast. These people obviously enjoy each other and know how to interact in fun ways. It adds life to the story. The GM knows how to really roll with the story as the players develop it. It’s just fun.

    A fun, high-quality, politics-free, actual play RPG.
The real-life camaraderie of five friends shines through in this entertaining and well-paced actual play podcast. Lars, the DM (AKA The Golden Tyrant), is a master storyteller who expertly crafts and guides the campaign. His passion and knowledge of the game are evident in every episode. The narrative, audio quality, music, sound drops, and Lars' voices are truly second to none. The player characters are all well-voiced, complex, and unique. One reason I've stuck with this show while dropping others is its intentional avoidance of overtly discussing real-world politics. It's refreshing to be able to escape the real world for an hour while listening to 5 people who genuinely enjoy one another's company play a game. I highly recommend "Tabletop Gold" to fans of actual play podcasts who are looking for a fun, engaging, and politics-free experience. I agree with another reviewer to limit the banter at the beginning, though!

I look forward to it every week!
A really fun actual play with a great cast! Tremendously funny and entertaining. Well worth a listen!

    Authentically Good
Just started listening (10 episodes in) and already know I’m down for the long haul with this show and group. I listen to or watch a lot of let’s play shows and this is the most that sounds like an actual group of friends playing the game. If you’re new to Pathfinder, you’ll find it approachable and instructive. If you’re an experienced player or GM, you’ll appreciate the focus on authenticity over product.

    Perfect Pathfinder Perfection
I started listening in 2023 and have hit episode 38 as of May 2024. I just scrolled through to see how many episodes I have left and there’s over 100, and episodes are STILL coming out. I love finding such an amazing podcast with a fun cast that has hours and hours of entertainment. If you like Pathfinder, you’ll love this podcast; it’s gold.

    Podcasts & Portents
I started listening to this podcast this year and in one of the early episodes they spoke to anyone listening to the show in 2024. It was pretty cool. Way to play the long game folks. Good podcast. Quality audio, nice cast, good amount of banter/gameplay. Really helps with my running of Abomination Vaults.

The moment I realized this was the best podcast ever
I was waiting to leave a review until I was fully caught up to the show. However, the intro to episode 123 made me cry because of how hard I was laughing while also being the most relatable thing to be talked about on a podcast. Even though I’m still 20ish episodes behind, I have loved every minute I have listened to this show and am so excited to keep going! I have learned so much about PF2E as originally intended and have found the best group of players in the process. I came for the game and stayed for the players. Thank all of you so much for the amazing work you do. Good your time!

    It’s a Hoot!
Tabletop Gold isn't just a podcast; it's a dungeon delve into the absurd, where every critical fail is a critical hit of comedy gold. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a newbie bard, this podcast is a must-listen for anyone who enjoys a side-splitting good time in the realm of tabletop RPGs.

    Awesome and educational
This is a wonderful podcast for those looking to learn and ease their way into pf2e. But along the way, you actually can’t help but feel like the host and players become your friends too. I love listening to them play (shout out to Norman my fave PC), but I also always look forward to the 5-10 minutes of the catching up at the beginning of every episode.

    Best Home Improvement Podcast
I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when a friend referred this podcast to me. Once I gave it a try, however, I was truly impressed with the craftsmanship. I would not have expected a show about applying gold leaf to common household items to be as engaging and exciting as this has been. Absolute 5/5.

The best thing about Mondays now
This show has been such an unexpected joy. I’ve never had any interest in the actual play thing, but I listened to a few episodes of this podcast because my kids wanted me to run a Pathfinder game for them and I quickly realized I had no idea what I was doing. Not only has this show given me a lot of confidence in my own game, listening each week just makes me so, so, so happy no matter what else is going on. The production value is top shelf, to be sure, but more than that even what makes this show special is the group dynamic. It’s funny and kind and complicated and true. Now I’m constantly looking for other shows this good. There’s tons of great talent out there, definitely, but no other show I’ve found has quite the same magic.

    Woof!
I’m so happy to have found this podcast. I’m relatively new to PF2e and the way this campaign is played is a godsend. The GM Lare is very good about explaining the specific mechanics that make Pathfinder unique. Listening has improved my gameplay. Also, I think this campaign is run in a more approachable way than other real play podcasts I subscribe to. They aren’t voice actors and not am I. After binging 123 episodes, I can say that Lars style of GMing a game is one I try to emulate in my own games. Beyond that, the players are fun and have developed interesting characters. As a side note, R Matt has the best non-sexual “woof” I’ve heard ever.

    Very Funny Actual Play!
I’ve been so obsessed with this podcast that I have been binging over a hundred episodes at 1.5 speed because I cannot consume their content fast enough. I really love the adversarial relationship the players have with the editor and I hope everyone continues to talk about slating in.

    Episode 96
Playing some catch-up, and just finished episode 96. Wow, Lars. That was gorgeous. I think I liked your vocals more than the original.

    Great play and great teaching
This is a great podcast for both the story and chemistry of its players but a serious S tier awesome for the GM. He is clear, concise and is telling a story while subsequently teaching how to play the game. Superb for new and existing players alike.

    Great all round
Great cast, great production value, great music, great story telling, great rules explanation, great role playing, great discord, just great all round. Gr8.

    Definitely not a Mollusk
Hey, just writing my review from my iPad, while I listen to Podcasts on my Pixel, because I like having a good phone. Also, I am definitely not a Squid, no matter what you may have heard, and I very much appreciate this Podcast’s fun adventures, delightful characters, and entirely uncontroversial utterances of fact. Good that time!

The podcast you’ve been looking for!
Table Top Gold is the next best thing to playing your own weekly game. Come for laughs, adventure, and plenty of strong opinions. Stay for a group of good friends telling a story together: the true tabletop gold.

    Love the show!
The show is fantastic especially for Pathfinder 2e newbies! Love the characters and getting to know the people behind them. About 50 episodes in and can’t stop listening!

    A Great Show!
Great sound quality. Great music. Great banter. Good at getting the rules right, and introducing them to new players. And even better at keeping combat flowing at a brisk pace. Add to that a talented game runner, a fun cast, and an agent of chaos to throw things off the rails, and you get a highly enjoyable show. Ps. In case there was any doubt, the agent of chaos is Zoe.
  • TheMadJuggler
    Perfect for any TTRPG fan!
I don’t even play Pathfinder, but I still love Tabletop Gold because it feels like you’re exploring a fantasy world with friends. The cast is equal parts intelligent, clever, and silly. All but one (and the GM) had no prior Pathfinder experience, so it serves as a gradual on-ramp for learning the system if that’s your bag. The production value really separates this show from the pack; Lars’s background in music and sound mixing yields a professional venture from episode one. Finally, the show has a healthy following on Discord with a huge group of like-minded nerds who form a great community. The show takes suggestions for hero point cards created by fans, but people also just hang out and chat about wrestling and board games and mushrooms. TRIL IS BAE! (I’m biased)

Nyang Nyang Bonobo is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious for our Gene ratio
First, this is an amazing podcast with a great group of witty friends. One of the better balances between role-play (that doesn’t get cloying) and combat (that follows the actual rules.) Lars, the GM, has an encyclopedic knowledge of Pathfinder 2e that has really turned me on to the system. Second, if ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ was your go-to, catch-all term - it’s time to update your game. Mary Poppins (the original) was released in 1964! Tabletop Gold introduced a phrase that I am certain will be the word of the century - ‘Nyang Nyang Bonobo’. Don’t be left behind in the cultural revolution. Say ‘Nyang Nyang Bo-YES-bo’ to Tabletop Gold and see what everyone is talking about.

    Great actual play
The group legit sounds fun to play and listen to as opposed to trying to monetize their hobby. One of my favorite actual plays
  • the Burgerpimp
David Chernicoff? More like David ChernicON!
Tabletop Gold has been a highlight every Monday since I began listening last year. The group is funny and has great banter and Lars isn’t as tyrannical as he would lead you to believe. Moreover, the episodes are a much more digestible length than other actual plays. Check them out!

    Great anytime
A great podcast anytime. Just had a friend tell me about this show and I binged all the episodes in 2 weeks. A great show for people looking to learn how Pathfinder 2 works.
  • Lohengrin999
    Fantastic
So good. Though it does make me jealous I don’t have a group of players as good as these or that I am as great of a game magistrate as Lars. This podcast is Pathfinder 2e’s Critical Role and dare I say, better. Yeah, I said it, fight me.
  • Catgogi
The only podcast that has stuck
I’ve been trying different TTRPG podcasts for a long time, and this is the only one that I’ve been listening to every week. Great group and excellent GM - Highly recommend!

“My fingers aren’t dirty, you jerk!”
I just made it to episode 18 and I am absolutely hooked! Their charisma is excellent, and you can tell they’ve been friends for a while. Excellent quality, great goofs, but at its core, it’s still an actual play podcast. As someone who has been a GM for a long time in dungeons and dragons, and is learning the Pathfinder 2E system, it’s both an excellent tool and form of entertainment for me. I can’t wait to catch up to live!
  • InternX
The Best Actual Play Podcast using Pathfinder 2e available.
Briefly, Tabletop Gold is an actual play podcast running the Pathfinder Second Edition Adventure Path “Abdomination Vaults” relatively faithfully (slightly off the rails in the service fun for the players and audience alike) Lars and the crew are charming. Think early Millenial/late GenX moms and dads playing at their kitchen table after the kids have gone to bed. The light non-gaming tabletalk will feel familiar to folks who grew up on Star Wars/Star Trek and later graduated to “Prestige TV” (The Wire and etc.) Discussion about unsatisfactory healthcare, potty training and the COVID Pandemic will feel familiar to nerds of an area (and who have lived through our recent times.) The pacing is excellent — never a dull moment in each hourish episode. Lars apparently has previously worked in entertainment and it shows — the production values are excellent. The players don’t feel like trained actors, but riff off each other well like folks who have probably done some improv before (They “yes and” each other effectively). In summary, don’t sleep on Tabletop Gold. It’s awesome. If you are a 5e player who is thinking of dipping your toes into PF2E, this isn’t a bad way to get up to speed.
  • kamellias
    Fantastic
I’ve listened to episodes of several pathfinder actual play podcasts, this the only I’m still listening to. The players are engaging and charismatic together; their characters are fairly dynamic. The GM is funny and, even better, keeps a good pace and has quality production value. Highly recommended

Tabletop Gold is literally my dad

    Ridiculously bingeable
This fantastic podcast kept my attention for 99 episodes of commutes, dishwashing, exercising, grass mowing, housecleaning… Really I will use any excuse to spend an hour listening to the drama and hilarity these players and their GM bring to their table. I only regret that I am now caught up to the current release… and I await episode 100 with bated breath!
  • OliveProcessor
    Lovely show
Sometimes it feels like this is a show featuring kindergarten teachers who forgot to turn off the teacher personality when they went out for drinks. Sometimes that’s weird! But they put on a great show and have fairly compelling, fun, deeply expressive characters. Big ups to Ao for all of that.
  • MarkieSee
    It’s me, it’s not you
I just completed the 74th ep, so end of book 1. I truly enjoy the chemistry between the players, and the faux-antagonistic attitude from Lars. He clearly loves the storytelling and is not out to actually kill the players; a welcome dynamic which I agree with. Frankly, my only hesitation in recommending this to others is the prolonged banter at the beginning of each episode. I wouldn’t mind a couple minutes of peeking into the real lives of the players, but they routinely go past 10 minutes telling stories and laughing and just hanging out. I’m glad they enjoy each others company, but I’m not listening to find out what online quiz they try next. I skip the rambling discourse at the beginning to get to the story. And I know that I’m likely the minority in this, but that’s why the final star isn’t filled in. Thank you TTG peeps for your time, your commitment, and your obvious enjoyment of the podcast. I’ll continue listening and looking forward to the unrolling of the adventure.
