    The most enjoyable sewing podcast
This is my favorite of all the sewing podcasts I listen to. I am a quilter with aspirations of making more clothing (especially clothing that fits properly). I love Zoe’s message of sewing more sustainably and all of the interesting guests she has join her. As an American, it’s really fun to listen to her accent! I always end the podcast feeling inspired to try something new and be more sustainable in my sewing practice.

    My current obsession
I am a college student who loves to sew and is sustainably minded. I’ve always been frustrated by the waste produced by traditional sewing practices so this podcast was an absolute treasure to discover. I have learned so much and it has really made me think about more sustainable methods in my own creative practice.

    Great Info, More Potatoes
Zoe has great guests, wonderful information, and fantastic resources for even more in depth information on the topics covered. Only requests are more potatoes and more politics 😉

    Politics & Sewing 🤦‍♀️
I was so excited to find your podcast & then I was so disappointed to hear election trashing in your podcast. I can only hope that you start to do serious deep-dive research & stop listening to propaganda. America was on a path of crashing & burning. And to hear that you wanted this to continue is viscerally disturbing. Also, the true science does Not support climate change. Read all the studies not just the ones that support the elite narrative. Also, it is important to uncover who paid for the studies. Then you will get to the truth. Please for the love of all things good, stick to sewing content.

    Scrap inspiration!
I just listened to the scrapbusting episodes back to back. Now I am excited about making the bags, poufs, and patchwork projects that have been sitting in my imagination for a while. Looking forward to those September scrap challenges!

    Substantial sewing podcast 💜
I really enjoy the topics and interviews. I took up sewing for sustainability reasons, like mending. This podcast is great for that and more. The podcaster wears her heart on her sleeve, which i love. Thanks, Zoe!

Zoe inspired me to change my behavior!
Zoe is entertaining and informative. But more than that, she inspires me to change my behavior! Since I started listening to Check Your Thread (about 9 months ago), I’ve gone from buying RTW clothes multiple times a month to not buying any in the last 5 months. I’ve also stopped buying virgin fabric and yarn; I’ve been sourcing secondhand fabric or getting creative with my stash. I’ve also been composting for the past 4 months. I feel relief at not having so much stuff coming into my life constantly, and I feel creative delight at bringing my visions to life without buying new fabric. I’ve especially enjoyed colorblocking when I don’t have quite enough of one color to finish a project!

    I never miss an episode!
I always feel like I’m there in the room with Zoe drinking a cup of tea and listening in on the conversation with a friend, no matter what the subject. Her energy and passion for the subject - sustainable sewing - comes through in every single episode. And I love how she never makes the listener feel judged or badly for not doing “all the thing.” If anything, you leave feeling inspired and excited!

A Thoughtful, Fun and Intelligent Podcast about sewing more sustainably!
I never miss an episode. I have learned so much about the critical need to see and create garments with sustainability firmly in mind. AND the podcast is joyous, fun and encouraging! Zoe, our host sets this tone with intention. All the content is great but I am just so grateful and inspired by the recent series on stash management and sewing with scraps. Such great information put together with concise terrific suggestions. And that says it. Zoe calls her advice suggestions, because she fervently supports sewists choosing their own journey. Thank you for all the time and love poured into this podcast.

    Such a delight
I am a newbie sewist and I adore this podcast. Zoe is such a ray of sunshine! It motivates me to create and be thoughtful and is the best companion while sewing! Also, every pattern Zoe has recommended has been excellent, which is especially helpful as a beginner.

    Invaluable!
I have basically put all other podcasts in my queue on hold while I catch up on all the older episodes of this one! Zoe has created an invaluable resource that I didn’t even know I needed, not only for my creative endeavors, but to help me rethink my consumption and sustainability practices in both sewing and daily life. She is exploring sustainability in every aspect of the term, including how to sustainably maintain a daily creative practice. Every episode has a wealth of actionable ideas and is full of enthusiasm and encouragement!

    Love CYT
Zoe’s interviews and ideas are inspiring and entertaining. I look forward to listening every week. The new theme of managing a fabric stash has already been useful and I’m sure there is more valuable information to come.

    Sewing is political!
I really appreciate Zoe’s response to a listener email about “keeping politics out of sewing” and discussion about how sewing is political. She breaks down “personal is political” in a way that is easy to understand. I hope her message reaches people, especially those who are privileged enough to “opt out” of politics.

    Thank you, Zoe.
The conversations have ranged from light and fun to deep and thought-provoking—sometimes within the same episode! Zoe takes a deep dive into learning about her guests before any call or conversation takes place. The research and preparation that goes into each episode is overwhelmingly apparent. We’re listening and we’re learning. There’s an evolution taking place—we as listeners are changing and Zoe’s own development is on full display in a wonderful exercise of warmth and vulnerability. Thank you, Zoe. You’re making magic.
