Burden of Proof

Burden of Proof is a True Crime Podcast run by two paralegals, who happen to be generations apart! Elysia (Gen X) and Savannah (Gen Z) met at their law firm, and discovered a lifelong bond and mutual love for true crime. Come with them as they tell each other a new case each week, and use their paralegal experience to breakdown the legalities of what happens when the criminals get caught!

    Makes Thursdays Exciting!
This podcast is one of a kind, every Thursday I get excited to hear Elysia and Savannah talk about these unique stories. You can see their intelligent and witty nature in every case they share. Love your work!

    Nope
I can’t listen anymore. The one hosts voice is so shaky I always feel like she’s crying. I also dispose the banter and jokes they make. It comes across very unprofessional and immature.

    Banter can be insensitive
I can appreciate the friendship the podcasters have, but the laughing and banter can be insensitive when talking about people getting murdered. Also going off on tangents talking about their own lives in the middle of stories can be inappropriately timed

True Crime with a Quasi-Legal Amusing Commentary
The hosts, Savannah and Elysia, present true crime cases with an amusing, quasi-legal commentary. I respect their non-biased reporting of the case facts. The differences in the hosts’ ages, life stories and lifestyles allow for lively discussion of the cases from each’s unique perspective. The cases presented are interesting and well-researched. The discussions are intelligent and humorous. I look forward to listening to this podcast every week!

    Soooo good!
Thursdays have quickly become my favorite day, so I can tune in for a new episode! The generational gap and unique perspective as paralegals give Elysia and Savannah such an interesting dynamic. They present well researched cases, and add in some fun banter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Meh
I was really hopeful for this podcast and I like the details of the stories, but the podcasters commentary is annoying. Skip the bsing and give the details of the story. Episodes could be 15-20 minutes without all the back and forth nonsense chatter.

    Strong foundation
I really enjoy the podcast. Aside from the content, I enjoy the lack of weird mouth noises (it’s a “make-or-break” for me), the matching tempo of voices, & minimal banter. I do kindly suggest that you stop saying that people find/don’t find “closure” following the untimely death of a parent, child, or spouse. There is no “moving on,” we simply move. The world doesn’t stop spinning & we forever carry a backpack of grief. It may feel lighter at times but it is always, always there. “Closure” is a nicety that is not representative of grief or healing and feels sharply out of touch. Felt compelled to note this but overall, I’ve really been loving your episodes. You have an awesome friendship dynamic.

    Questionable Views on Children
I listened to the first half of the Twilight Murders podcast and was completely turned off by one of the hosts condoning hitting children and victim blaming potential rape victims (14 years of age) with a remark of “well that’s why you aren’t in a park at 3am”. I’m also pretty sure they ripped some of their commentary directly from Morbid the podcast.
