Raj FanDPOYSince when is DPOY a team award? Wemby causes more lane U turns than LA rush hour. Those are blocked shots. Ask Draymond.
-
reissydeeTo windhorstGet windy off the show. Can’t stay objective, always fan-boying over Wemby. Has a huge head, thinks he’s an all time basketball analyst or something. He’s been carried by lebron and the two Tims his whole career. Hope he keeps struggling to sleep.

cpurtjunkiefanIf you took McMahon off, I’d listen to every episode. He is so annoying. If you took McMahon off, I’d listen to every episode. He is so annoying.

Rrrobbbbb24The whiniest bball podcastLots of whining, bickering, and corny jokes.
-
ajflight3Good hoops podWindy is a good host because he’s good at not having any controversial takes. Maybe because he’s afraid of being wrong or not sure. Tim McMahon is a goofy character, can be funny, but doesn’t really give any fresh analysis. Bontemps was definitely bullied earlier in his life, the man is bitter, super moody, and also very bias against certain teams and individual players. Other than that Bontemps is actually very knowledgeable of the game, but those would be his glaring weaknesses.
-
TokyoCeltLimited scopeHow do they decide whether to discuss Lakers/then Warriors or Warriors/then Lakers? Maybe someone should tell them the NBA has a new thing called the Eastern Conference.
-
faux_anonymity1WindyWindhorst is amazing. He is greatly held back by his co-hosts who interrupt and bicker like the least popular kid in the 7th grade. Truly annoying and they contribute nothing. Would love to see the supporting cast swapped out for processionals. Not sure why espn still has these clowns on payroll.
-
Shevek2020Good PodBut for the love of god please no more Windy Story Time. No one wants to hear a full pod about journalists lives. If you want to change the format of the show start a new pod or at least label the pod so I can skip those episodes.
-
Dubs322Hyperbole is their brandWindy cites Celtics ‘historic win’ against Warriors team down two starters at the end of a four game Eastern Conference road trip. This is but one example of the ‘over the top’ reporting that can make listening to the pod a tiresome experience. If you can get past the ‘First Take’ level of hyperbole, an unabashed embrace of recency bias, and seemingly endless Lakers reporting, there is excellent content to be found.
-
denveraceWindhorst & McMahon good- Spears & Bontemps badOne of the best NBA podcasts, full stop. Windy and McMahon are fantastic, Pelton and Youngmisuk are excellent… Bontemps can’t stop interrupting and is Embiid’s personal publicist. Enough Marc Spears, please. He was incoherent on the most recent appearance and seldom adds value. Essential listening, despite its warts.

FHoward33Too much love for Luka. Enough already. You know. I like this podcast. I enjoy the banter and insights but good grief c’mon guys. Enough. Enough already about Luka. Enough about teams that aren’t going anywhere in the playoffs. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time you guys talked knowingly about the Celtics for more than 2 minutes. Um…the Cs have had the best record in the NBA for most of if not the entire season. But…go ahead, talk about the Nets some more. Or turn once again to talking about Luka & other no names on the Denver bench. Maybe after the Cs destroyed the Mavs in the 4th quarter last night they get a mention on your Mav-cast? Maybe. It’s not just that I am a C’s fan, if I want to listen to just straight talk about the Cs there are dozens of outlets. My preference has been the Collective but lately it’s just been Brian Windbag and his Duka Cheerleaders. No thanks.

krk26Windhorst great, co-hosts ruinLove Brian’s staid and knowledgeable approach to reporting and analysis. Unfortunately Bontemps and McMahon border on unlistenable far, FAR too often. Both Tims offer worthwhile insight when focused, but wow can they get sidetracked by petty grievance, particularly Bontemps. I’m genuinely surprised they haven’t received corporate feedback to knock off the snide, off-topic back and forths - they often present as though they genuinely dislike each other, despite half-hearted disclaimers. Also, McMahon has a self congratulatory sense of humor - not for me. I listen for Brian. Unfortunately, I frequently turn-off mid-pod due the Tims. Of all the nba writers at espn’s disposal, why pair Brian with arguably the two most grating co-hosts?
-
ZimbenjiMy favorite NBA podReally love the chemistry on this pod. Fantastic juxtaposition of personalities and styles. The sum is greater than its parts.
-
Led GozeppelinWindhorst might be the bestHard working. Integrity. Has a sense of humor about himself. But Bontemps is unlistenable even as a foil to McMahon. McMahon occasionally lands a joke but misses more often than not. Brian keeps the show running and corrals the cats. For that, he get 4 stars.
-
josh1686Finally gave upGot tired of hearing only about big market teams. Then when a small market does come up all they mainly Brian trash the team or city
-
James Harden Fanclub4 Stars!Chemistry is trending back up between the crew. On the latest episode, Brian was in an awesome mood. Probably finished a great bowel movement before the show!

Dwayne Schintius's MulletDon’t ruin a good podcastPretty entertaining pod, good info and TB is a crack up, he’s very serious. Other than windhorst reminding us he’s been covering the nba for “over 20 years”, my only other dislike is that Sedano was a guest. Couldn’t listen to that episode. He’s phony and corny, most unoriginal person in sports “media.” Don’t water down the show, it’s overall pretty good as it stands. When in Miami he’s Jorge and then he moves to LA and he’s now George; Sedano, your insecurities just ooze out of you on the daily. Having a microphone and a karate background don’t make your opinions legit. Just stop.
-
Basketball4.0Great Basketball PodLove the Pod, but you guys talk about the Lakers way too much
-
PeacherCoachGreat ShowI’ve always enjoyed this podcast. but sometimes the use of profanity kind of took the joy out of it for me by the folks on the show. I am so thankful that recently they seem to have cut down on that. It makes it much more enjoyable. Thank you guys.
-
jrondojrondojrondoNot badI left a bad review before but continued listening. I’ve changed my mind. I like the Tim’s a lot and I like Windy (Vindy?). Thanks and sorry for the rude review.
-
Reasonable5CacophonyThey just talk over each other. It’s not a conversation; each participant just interrupts to provide his pre-canned opinions.
-
RyanthonyB711“Oh, by the way!”All these guys do is cut each other off and bicker. If they’re not cutting each other off, they cut themselves off, going “oh, by the way”, then go on a separate rant. Then, they forget to go back to the original point they were making. Extreeeeemely frustrating. Play a drinking game of the saying “by the way” and ranting. You’ll be drunk by the first ad spot. Update: listened again after 2 month hiatus. WOW / they’ve gotten even worse. “BY THE WAY, BY THE WAY!!!” Ughhh. Terrible.
-
Rick SchricterGreat except BontempsBontemps is rude, nerdy, talks way too much and sounds like he's scolding a child. He's also insufferable on camera because he's touching his face the entire time. Brian W is very good and Tim M has grown on me.
-
Daniel B SwartzBontempsDude’s gotta stop interrupting so much. It’s so hard to listen to when he does that.
-
JSEricksonJudging someone on their physical appearanceWhat was said here about short men was hurtful and gross. Judging someone on their physical appearance is acceptable. I hope any reasonable person will unfollow until suitable apologies are made.
-
HubestarLove this pod but…The gang says Jokic is better than ever!!?? Has anyone noticed that his FG% is down almost 10% points and is barely above 30% in 3P%??
-
Monkeyface7get it together Windythis dude must be high coming at us with draft talk after the first round of the tournament
-
BTOhioToo Often a Difficult ListenThey know the NBA, no doubt. But I wish at least one of them understood how conversations work. Episodes resemble WWE matches more than conversations—everyone talking over everyone else and mugging for the audience with juvenile attempts at humor. Too many times the result is a podcast that is less than the sum of its parts.
-
kiros3725Get rid of the TimsThis would be a 5 star because Brian is a stud and when he has any other guests on the show it’s a mega difference in how much more enjoyable it is. The Tims are absolutely horrendous to listen to. It makes me feel embarrassed that I have these guys in my ears. All they do is talk smack. These 2 nerdy guys talking trash non stop about half the NBA. The only reason they aren’t talking smack about the other half is because those players aren’t getting any playing time and are irrelevant. Any big stars in the NBA I could bet my life you could make a compilation video of these 2 geeks talking non stop trash about the best players in the NBA. How are we continually giving them a voice?! They shouldn’t even be allowed in these post press conferences. Look how Jason Kidd spoke to Tim MacMahon last night. That’s how every coach and player should talk to these guys. YOU talking negative about these greats is hilarious and embarrassing for yourself. Cmon Brian when you have Marcus Spears or even some of the ladies, the pod runs so much smoother and is way better content. You have to enjoy yourself way more when they aren’t there. And if you feel like that just imagine how all your loyal listeners feel as well! I really hope the Tims appreciate what I am doing because I am doing EXACTLY what they do, criticizing something they can only wish to do .
-
urguyyywho would bother listening to this?MacMahon and Bontempts are the most negative NBA writers out & I can’t believe they have platforms. They’re so condescending & for what? Neither has done anything. All they do is hate & speculate trade rumors the second a player does so much as frown. These guys are insufferable.

Rafael TestaiPlease standardize audio dBPlease standardize, audio dB, especially in commercials that are extremely loud. You can use free, artificial intelligence tools to remove the echoing and keep the audio at the same decibels throughout the podcast. Makes me want to hate the advertiser when the promotions are twice the volume.
-
Meigh2Audio qualityWhy is the audio so bad, so often?
-
Max RFOne of the bestHoop podcasts out there. The TM TB Windy combo is a classic
-
Rlacey11ESPN schillsBrutal listen
-
Hue bLoved this digression 😅most recent episode(11/08/2023)actually loved all the talk about the celebs gifting habits! marc, ramona and of course Bwindy! wanted to hear about how much cash he got for his car
-
zekedog11Listen to HoursBest Pod for NBA news out there. Lot of people ripping on Bontemps — I disagree. It’s refreshing to hear some honest takes and discussion around the league. Windy is intelligent and seasoned.
-
Back to ESPNYou’re Better Then ThisPlease ask Bontemps to stop saying “at the end of the day.” You sound like you have no vocabulary.
-
mjk9825Great showI really enjoy the podcast. Great insight on all things NBA. Love the bickering between all of you. McMahon is the best. Hard to believe he was banned. Keep it up
-
Darth BowserSo FakeWindy says “The Bucks lost in the 1st round.” How do you say that and leave out the part where an all-time great and one of the best players on the planet was injured and missing games??? The “ESPN worships large markets” talk is played out, but comments like that show people like Windy will get on their knees for people like LeBron but ignore an MVP missing games in a series loss 😂 Stop it. Get some help. 😂
-
Luan24678Love Windhorst, but the hate the negativity of the TimsI wish Windhorst had different co-hosts. Windy provides measured fair commentary, and he can always back up his information. The Tim’s, both macman and Bontemps, just make stuff up half the time and blow smoke out their mouth. The smoke is mixed in with a few accurate pieces of information. Macmahon is just so negative.
-
ijohnson21BontempsBontemps is too much. He is constantly interrupting others on the pod and corrects everything. He thinks his opinion is better than everyone else and he believes he’s always right. The show needs to replace him as a regular and use him in a more part time basis.
-
r_p_g_1129more poop than hoop latelyWhen Jackie McMullen was a regular guest, this was a great podcast, but Tim Bontemps has made it basically unlistenable except on days when he is not there. McMahon calls him the "urine-soaked wet blanket," but to me he is Squidward: yammering obnoxious, contrarian, arrogant but frequently fallacious arguments in an unbearably annoying voice.
-
MKeys09Hoop collective podThis is my favorite podcast hands down I have listened to every episode, as a former division 2 basketball player the 3 amigos give takes on hoops that’s necessary for this simple yet complex game, Windhorst is the relationship specialist, Bontempts is the cold shoulder dose of reality, and McMahon is a balanced act of both, look forward to every new episode and with this season coming the insight I’m sure will be plentiful and amazing! Keep going 🙌
-
SaggyWheelsEliteThis is the best NBA pod out there. Unsure why it has a 4 star rating, that is criminal. 5 stars baby.
-
APD2313Overall Good PodLike this pod a lot, especially Windhorst and Banned McMahon. Bontemps is such a negative guy though don't like his bit he's always trying to be right and has a clear east coast bias.
-
La52380Talking Over Each OtherI love the pod and listed to every episode but it is becoming almost impossible to listen anymore. Listening to three grown men constantly interrupt and talk over each other is so distracting and cringe. Is it that hard to let one make a point before jumping in to talk?
-
mogutsTimmys!!I love the Tims, Windy is good too. These guys are in the loop with everything and are fun to listen too. Only thing from ESPN I bother with.
-
ColJJGodHit or Miss in Many WaysLots of Pros and Cons come with this one. Windy is great. MacMahon is good. Bontemps is usually either spitting facts and speaking truth to power or being negative, contrarian, over-arguing for too long. One is great. The other is grating. Guests are okay. I’m not a Jackie Mac fan, Ramona Shelburne fan, Marc Spears fan really, and these are some of the heaviest recurring non-Tim guests. So I find myself listening to maybe half the episodes, but really enjoying that half of them.
-
TrevorffegjAmazing podTop 3 NBA pod no doubt, love when Bontemps and McMahon bicker
