Marleymustard2273The best podcastYou guys are the best!! I love the podcast! I listen to every new episode even if I haven’t seen the movie 😂😅 I like listening to the horror lifestyle updates at the beginning. I don’t know where I would get all this horror news if it wasn’t for you guys. I don’t always agree with you on movies but I still love you!!
-
BERTA4519They NEVER get to the topicThis could be good, but they will talk for an hour about nothing before they get to the movie they’re talking about. When they do, the podcast is just about over
-
daniejay13It’s fine that it’s this way.I don’t always agree with their takes, but they always make me laugh. They don’t always drop on Monday, but it’s always worth the wait. Thanks for keeping me up to date and entertained for years. But please bring back the awkward song parodies that Brett somehow related to the movie of the week.

mmpnguyenRate for a better micEnjoyable listen. Jesse could use a better mic though, sometimes hurts my ears. Support the show because this could be it!

Eliza A 87Horror lifestyleThis is my favorite horror podcast . Love the detailed reviews, honest opinions , inclusion of the latest horror news , especially love the recommendations as a Shudder subscriber . Great listen!
-
jammle81highlight of my weekFunny, informative, delightful. Love the chemistry between Brett and Jesse. Always a fun time. Please bring Scout on for all badly received sequel movies.

Fitzdaddy4017Great Podcast for Horror fans!I’ve been listening for over a year and even started going back to the Joe Avella days. Strongly recommend for anyone looking for entertaining discussion of horror movies and horror news. #horrorlifestyle

Just in bee BrrrA must listen for horror fans!I will admit that I got in a little late on this podcast. I started listening about 6 months ago but now I’m hooked. Brett and Jesse cover new and classic horror movies alike. While I may not agree with them every time, I can at least see the point they are making about any given film. Do yourself a favor and give this podcast a listen. Congrats on 200+ reviews! Like you always say The Black Phone is the gold standard for all horror movies. We get it, you love The Black Phone!!! Keep it up guys!!

Roxanne from Mass.Long Time Listener, First Time ReviewerAs someone who has listened to nearly every episode, from the beginning with Brett and Joe, through various visitors and cohosts, to today with Brett and Jesse, I can say that it has all been time well spent. I feel like I have witnessed Brett grow up (thank you for giving up the jam bands, and congrats on becoming a dad!) over the years, and can truly appreciate the time and energy that all those involved have put into the show. As an “elder millennial,” I love revisits of older movies, as well as hearing about all the new releases that I don’t always have time to watch on my own. Keep up the good work and I hope you continue to enjoy the process!
-
mirabellelakeBest Horror Movie Podcast In Town (World)Brett and Jessie will keep you up to date each week with horror, and horror adjacent (what added value!) movie news. Then they’ll get into the current horror, and horror adjacent releases. They don’t always agree, but they won’t fall into the trope of slashing each other’s thoughts for clicks. My favorite is when Jesse convinces Brett the movie may not be that bad. Anyway, hop in and enjoy their thoughts on news, movies, and general self deprecation. Also check out Brett’s other podcast “Roger Ebert and Me” it covers all the other movies, and also rules. To Jessie: Convince Brett to watch more TV Shows so we can hear his opinions on those!
-
botbotb1A mispronunciation. When Renfield came out, Brett kept calling the film and character Renfeld. Great podcast though!
-
morganbsaYour go to podcast for news & reviews!I wish I had more time to watch the films that Brett Arnold and Jesse Hassenger talk about and or recommed. Make sure to have pen & paper close because your going to want to take notes on what to watch based on their conversation each week. They are both extremly knowledgeable and their love of film shines bright each week. Give them a try and you'll be instantly hooked. Don't hestiate to go back and listen to past episodes, you'll have a blast hearing about thiing you may have missed.
-
Dirt DeasMy Favorite Horror (and all things adjacent) PodcastLove this show! Brett and Jesse are both awesome. I find myself often agreeing with their takes and ratings. I often find myself looking to their Letterbox reviews since they are a great indicator on if I’ll like a movie or not.

FofogrtobtgdobodtngoggboGreat! This show, alongside "Roger & Me" are both on my top podcasts list. If you ever needed 2 podcast that give you endless piles of actual information every single week, these are the podcasts to subscribe to. Plus all the endless mispronunciations! Record breaking! I am giving this 5 stars and I never miss an episode of either show. However! I am writing this review to get Brett's attention. The audio levels are just too quiet on your shows, The New Flesh in particular. I listen to dozens of podcasts all day long and this one is by far the quietest. I can't even hear it well cranked up to the maximum in my car if I'm on a freeway. Is there anything that can be done about this? It's been this way for a couple years. Also! both podcasts... you don't need the 3 minute speech at the top of every episode. Just start! That being said, I love the shows and applaud your efforts. I'm not trying to be mean!
-
SmoshthegreatA weekly listen for meI love this podcast because it gives me horror news and updates at the top of each episode before diving into a new release or a classic horror film. I can catch a horror film opening weekend and throw the pod review on to listen to while I drive home- perfect.
-
TheYoungInterviewerStarted from the beginningLove it. Don't always agree but love hearing the opinions.
-
DallasChilInformative & EntertainingGreat podcast to listen to for horror movie news and reviews. I appreciate their opinions and Dan relate a lot, even with the occasional hot take. They cover “horror-adjacent” movie and TV news, as well, and always keep me engaged.
-
toomanyreviewrequestsFlorence PugGreat show, been listening for years. Among my favorite horror movie review shows. Hosts talk a mix of film reviews and film news and nerdery and it has always sounds fairly well produced. Happy to put them within one review of RT Certification.
-
SimonK84Love itAlways one of my first go-to podcasts for new episodes, great rapport between Brett and Jesse, funny, insightful, timely, living the #horrorlifestyle — keep ‘em coming!
-
Bruce Kim 2Best horror & comedy podcastJust listen to the Saw series. Comedy doesn’t get better than that
-
Cold DeckA top 5 podcastThe short and sweet of it: very few podcasts survive the longterm listenability test. Not only does The New Flesh pass this test, it’s blue-ribbon winner. The guys are charming and authentic. They absolutely know their stuff. Long live the New Flesh.
-
LAXbreedfun and informativethe news coverage is delicious. love their insights and takes on new horror.
-
hannahannahfordGood but nah for meI’m desperate to like this podcast because the content is there for me but the main and I are too similar in our intense opinions regarding movies only I keep landing on the other side of things. Ends up being a rage listen for me, there’s not enough nuance in the reviews - giving 5 stars cos it’s worth a shot if you don’t see red every time you listen!
-
snhejevrjcidubavGreat podcast but -I enjoy this podcast generally and love the rapport between Brett and Jesse. Thinking of their reviews, especially Brett’s comments in their review of Everything Everywhere All At Once (EEAO) and Master, I realize the hosts absolutely cannot speak on people of color’s experiences in film. It might help to bring on actual POC to discuss films that the hosts are not adequately equipped for and/or cannot understand. In the EEAO review, Brett’s comment about how “all these recent movies about mother-daughter relationships say the same thing” (paraphrasing here) was really disappointing to hear. It’s clear to me that Brett absolutely cannot speak on the experiences of women, let alone POC and their mothers. Brett, please give us your exhaustive list of other Asian American-directed films about immigrant mothers’ relationships with their queer American daughters, if that’s so overdone. I’d love to see that tbh. Listening to your Beau is Afraid review and how Beau’s relationship with his mother resonated with you so much, I realize Brett really needs to expand his empathy past an incredibly limited worldview. That being said I agree with everything *else* Brett and Jesse said about EEAO.
-
MrsG 12A nice hang outAs a fan of the horror lifestyle, I very enjoy the topics here. The hosts are witty and knowledgeable of horror and are well researched. I only wish whoever is responsible for the background honking horns would find a better closer to record in. This podcast makes my Mondays better.
-
tstepzThis Show is Fantastic!!!!I love these guys! They provide great insider information on Horror News & the entertainment industry in general. I Love Horror Films & Hollywood discussions & They really know their stuff when it comes to box office & industry specifics. They also take time to highlight films that are hidden gems. My first episode I listened to was FALCON LAKE & it was a great discussion & turned me onto a wonderful film. I am on this show’s wavelength & I hope they continue covering horror news for years to come. Great insight & fun discussions. Would recommend!

Evangeline A.Reconsider The Snowman (now you’re interested)Any other stay at home moms out there? Yeah…didn’t think so. Anyway, seeing as I have no life anymore, this is my only source of scary movie content. I’ve been listening for a year, have finally caught up to the latest episode, and all I have to say is: THE SNOWMAN WAS EXCELLENT. Just kidding. But in all seriousness, your most shocking review was for Knock at the Cabin: absolutely boring on my end. Not that y’all care. Thanks for keeping the content coming and for the entertaining conversation. Alright, I’m out!
-
kndheiNOT CRINGEBeen listening for a while and I gotta say I love this pod. I listen as soon as an ep drops. Truly just the best of the best. Even when I don’t agree with the hot takes I respect em. Keep up the songs Brett!!!!!
-
Scarecrow JoeCringe Horro PodcastBrett sings a terrible song. Jesse cackles. Brett rambles. Jesse cackles. Brett asks Jesse a question without giving him time to answer. Jesse cackles. Repeat weekly.
-
ZackyyDeeA banger of a movie podcast and a must for horror aficionadosBrett and Jessie both rip as podcast hosts. I got my fiancé to start listening and now she’s updating me on what they think of movies before I even listen. Both of them are a must follow on Twitter and Letterboxd. Plus their weekly patreon is more than worth the price of admission. If you are looking for truly insightful film criticism (horror for otherwise), then look no further; this podcast is a must. I am consistently finding new movie recs, hearing a great new dialogue on films, laughing at the host’s jokes, and begging for the next episode to drop. I haven’t skipped an episode in two years and I cannot recommend this podcast enough. Separately Jessie and Bret have podcasts called roger & ebert and sports alcohol (both of which I recommend wholeheartedly). P.s. if any of this review seems too fake and effusive, don’t worry, I don’t know them and they don’t like most of my favorite movies and I still wanted to say how great they were!
-
RadRawlingsFun ListenAlso the best place for me to catch up on horror news when I’ve been lazy and not keeping up.
-
Lex*LexHot PodCome for the horror news and stay for the sassy horror takes! Very fun listen, thoroughly enjoy the horror lifestyle according to Brett and Jesse.
-
ReallyAwesome47381Cam GigandetThe way Brett pronounces Cam Gigandet’s name at the end of the latest episode is actually how it’s pronounced. I love this podcast.
-
EK 🎃Is it Monday yet??I’m dying to hear the horror movie news every week and what better way than The New Flesh podcast?! The hosts’ energy and enthusiasm is electric every episode, and I especially love when Brett quizzes Jesse on what random movie some actor starred in (it’s actually the most thrilling and suspenseful thing in any podcast I listen to). I also love the discussions of trends in the landscape of the industry and box office. Highly recommended💀🍿
-
JoyofadventureFound this because of Scream…They did the full series of Scream as a rewatch about a year ago (before 5 came out) and really enjoyed the hosts, so even though I’m not a huge horror fan, I kept listening. It’s actually making me appreciate horror more, and I’ve been digging into their archives as I seek out some older classics.
-
Dr. Michael SowinskiGood podcast for horror fansI came to the podcast for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre review and really enjoyed. Went back and have been listening to some older episodes.
-
katieandspencerTwo cool guysThoughtful commentary on the sweet relief of horror movies
-
megankabyFunnyThis podcast is very funny. I’m not even a big horror fan but you don’t need to be an obsessive to enjoy it, as the hosts clearly both love movies in general
-
ElmStreetVictimThe elm street bumpJust a little bump from a listener. Please bring back the bits ‘n pieces theme songs.
-
Flesh HeadFive star reviewEach week hosts Brett and Jesse discuss the latest in horror news and films, such as Death on the Nile and Channing Tatum's Dog, which I believe is some sort of werewolf movie. I've been listening for about a year and love their banter and frequent guests, although sometimes Brett gets carried away on political rants about the "masking" at AMC. Anywway, it's five stars for this podcast! I was not coerced to write this review.
-
Peter A CarbonaroBest Horror PodcastBy far my favorite horror-related podcast. The combination of deep film analysis and the lighthearted banter between Brett and Jesse makes it an enjoyable listen. Highly recommended if you’re a real horror fan.
-
natedudefxI like this show. It’s true: I like this show. (One closer to 200)
-
al543670Never miss an episodeEven if I haven’t seen the main event, gotta get my horror news. Great guests, sharp commentary. If you keep covering series, you should do REC at some point
-
NelsonEspeNelsonThe best buddy duo since Jason Segal and Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man. Great show. Great people. Only complaint is the mic volume seems a little low. Don’t think it’s an issue on my end. Listen to this podcast!!!
-
Adamska aI'm living the horror lifestyle!Brett and company do a great job of dissecting horror, their love for the genre really shines through. I like Brett's energy every episode, and really appreciate the spoiler warnings in their reviews.
-
Fkfhdjjbfibfghj;&&?;&&)!;$@$?Amazing PodcastAmazing podcast! I listen to it at work basically every day. For newcomers, there are 6 years worth of content to browse through! The hosts bring great energy and are really fun to listen to whether they’re talking about horror or not! Highly recommend (Let’s get them rotten tomatoes)
-
leahhhhhhhhcorn.005 the way thereI still have not unsubscribed yet which should be it’s own 5 star glowing review since I have absolutely no podcast loyalty. Moving the needle 1/200 on your way to sweet bliss. Always and forever living the horror lifestyle and all things tangentially related to the horror lifestyle. Keep on rocking on 🤘🏻
-
RainbowsinSpaceLong live the new fleshLove this pod. Here for it every week. Get that 200 babyyyyyy.
-
@seanj8Brett Told Me to Do itBrett told me to write a review or my beagle would suffer the consequences. But anyway, great, in-depth podcast that gives more appreciation for films that are more obscure or scrutinized in the public view or by Film Twitter. One of my favorite weekly listens on horror or anything for film in general.
