    Please Stay
I have a story for you…I’m only on episode 53 …each and every story is like a bedtime story but with a twist . If you truly wish to relax and be entertained then this one woman podcast will NOT disappoint ! Her ethereal voice, imaginative stories combined with her musical talents are sure to delight . Thus far I believe Please Stay has been my favorite, at least until I find my next favorite. Please stay? Why yes! I believe I will.

A podcast not just to fall asleep to
If you have this persistent anxiety the origins of which are often unclear, listening to this while sipping with a hot cup of chamomile, valerian or any calming herb tea, might be just what the (metaphorical) doctor ordered.

    Amazing
My roommate and I have devoured over 25 episodes tonight and we have no plans to stop any time soon, I still listen to this when I go to sleep and I have to back track bc I cant not latch onto every word and every song spoken by both creator and narrator. Please don’t stop any time soon

    A Perfectly Spooky Narrative
I stumbled upon this show and the wonderful Kristen Zaza after searching for narrative horror podcasts. I had not listened to one told from this perspective in a long time and wanted to give it a go. Absolutely glad I did, after 5 episodes I had decided to listen to the entire show from the Episode 1. Her voice is perfect for this genre of spooky storytelling and she does an amazing job with the scripting and additional audio elements. If you are sensitive to sharp noises, the intro/outro from Ep. 1 to 100 may bother you. I encourage you to just skip the first 30-45 seconds if it's a problem as every episode is a gem that you don't want to miss. It changes at 101 and should no longer be an issue.

    👏 👏 👏 ❤️
I feel this character 🐿🐇🦨🦫🐾Having recently acquired a forest of my own where I cultivate beauty and spiders and consult my cards and watch the moon. Her way of speaking, her femininity which is real, soft, yet dangerous, the constant nature metaphors. I love it. All of it.

    The Highlight Of My Week!
I stay up late every tuesday night so I can enjoy the new episode right away! Every week it’s pure magic. If you’re looking for a friend to to wander the woods with, ponder the unknowable wonders and explore your soul with, this podcast is for you and me. Our narrator is everything I could ever hope for in a friend- wise, gentle, eloquent, self aware, dark, wild, mysterious, philosophical, endlessly fascinating, always hungry to learn, grow, and to share her wisdom and talents. Thank you so much Kristen, for the many many gifts you have given us.

    Update! Now it's perfect.
I reviewed this before and criticized the theme song. Just started season 2 and the whistling is GONE! Thank you, thank you! Now this is a perfect podcast. I love it so much. I could listen to Kristen's voice all day.

    Beautifully Creepy
I love this podcast! The stories are creepy, but comforting. Her voice is so soothing, and the stories are beautifully written. Everytime I listen, I feel like I'm transported to another world. And it's been amazing for my insomnia. Who knew creepy could be so relaxing!

A great podcast for all the creeps
I recently found this podcast and I’m so glad I did. It has just a right amount of creep without being overly scary. I love the way the stories are told, so soothing. This podcast brings joy to my creepy-story-loving self. Definitely recommend especially during spooky season. 👻

    Awesome!
I love this podcast! Her voice helps me sleep every night. Each episode is unique and enticing. I enjoy the theme music it’s calming and comforts me.

    Listening over and over
<3 I tend to get taken out of the moment and stuck on niggly little things like misspoken words and poor grammar. That is why I love this podcast. If Frasier is your kind of show but you’re also a bit of a creep... listen in.

Best podcast to fall asleep to
I love Kristen’s stories! Her slow soothing voice and her original music make this a great sleep podcast. The stories are kind of fairytale-esque with classic horror themes, told by a mysterious narrator. I put this on every night and sometimes the stories weave their way into my dreams, it’s the best!
  • Mel Wing
    Beautiful and Eerie
Love the narration and the stories. The music however is a bit like nails on the blackboard and jarring when trying to relax, but that’s pretty minor. Great podcast otherwise!

Hauntingly Beautiful - A must listen!
In the depths of night, it is sometimes all one can do not to go mad...or perhaps choose to step into the void of questioning one’s own sanity. When sleep is not an option, On a Dark Cold Night certainly is. This is not your average bedtime ghost story series. Every week I get to spend time with my friend, the narrator. She is powerfully vulnerable in her infinite wisdom, collected through the centuries and told to us through stories. These stories reflect the beauty, the pain, the love, the hurt and anger. They warn against greed and the dangers of desperation, despair and desire that we all know and feel, even if we don’t like to acknowledge those feelings. In the end though after all of the horrors of the world are unleashed, we as the listener are left with hope. With understanding that we get to choose what we become and what we own. We get to choose the parts of ourselves that we give power to and take power from. We are comforted as the story ends and we drift off to sleep..or queue up another story, that tomorrow’s will happen regardless, and it’s within our grasp to make tomorrow better than today. This podcast has become my favorite recently for all these reasons and more. It’s accessible to anyone from the very first episode. So don’t be afraid to check out this gem. You might just make a new friend who is able to impart her wisdom unto thee.

    Soothing
My wife and I love to turn out the lights, get comfortable and listen to Kristen Zaza speak as the narrater that is going to tell us a story. Her voice and sound effects are perfect. Her stories are original, and she manages to avoid cliches. How she does this once a week is a mystery in itself.

    The Absolute Best!
Found this podcast to help me sleep and it definitely helps. The stories are so good I now almost wish I could stay awake to hear the whole episode! Thanks Zaza, queen of soothing spooky stories. 😍

    My Favorite!
I am SO EXCITED for season two! These podcasts develop a real relationship between you, zaza, and the narrator. Honestly started listening as a way to relax and then fell in love! I hope they go on forever 💕

    Zaza is a genius!
This podcast is an absolute gem! I stumbled upon it looking for something boring and monotonous to sleep to. But as providence would have it, I was gifted with a soothing collection of captivating stories that lull you into a revere filled with tales of love, death, contentment, fear, joy, and questions. I’m thrilled that such a collection exists!

Kristen I hope you are doing well in all this. Your podcast is helping me relax through this crazy time and I really appreciate it.

For those in need of a fellow traveler
I stumbled across this podcast one day looking for something to help me sleep in preparation for another night at work. It did not help me sleep, incorrigible insomniac that I am. I was intrigued and entranced by Ms. Zaza’s voice so, so having listened to the most recent episode first, I decided to start from the very beginning. The stories are fables of a sort that have helped me confront some of my own demons. As someone recovering from a traumatic relationship, these stories remind me to not be afraid of moving forward. I do not know if this podcast was intended as such, but for me, it has become a sort of sonic therapy.

    Perfect, weird, beautiful art
I didn’t know there were others that wanted to hear a soothing voice tell them horror bedtime stories. I discovered this after searching for that exact thing online. Kristen Zaza is a creative genius. Well done!

    ALL TIME FAVORITE
I fall asleep to these creepy yet soothing stories every night. The other worldly music and description makes this my all time favorite podcast.
  • Yo!11
    Love, But!
Love this, and just becoming acquainted, BUT the initial opening score is so shrill that it messes with the concept of this being relaxing and sleep-inducing. Can you tone down that whistling intro so it’s not so ear-piercing?
  • Kyleekable
    🤷‍♀️
I tried using this podcast to help me fall asleep and it works... until the background music starts. The sound that’s played at the beginning of each episode wakes me up and defeats the purpose. I wish there was a version without the noise.

    Sophisticated and Creative Stories
I adore this podcast and always listen to it right before I end my day. It’s perfect for a creepy, while still soothing story that anyone can enjoy. Couldn’t recommend enough!
  • hmm85
    The whistling uhhh
Great podcast but the whistling is so jarring and takes away from the soothing tone of the rest of the podcast. Please consider changing.

    Herding Sheep
Just started your show today. Love it! Even while driving during the day. Anyway, it’s my first night to listen to it in my bedroom...with my 5 Australian Shepherds. They are active working dogs who herd sheep and cattle. The whistling in your theme song woke them all up out of a dead sleep and they were ready to work and herd sheep. They’re whistle trained! It was awesome! I’m desensitizing them to your whistle and they’re back to sleep! Keep up the good work!!
  • Captain yarb
    Love this
I spent some of my painsomnia time listening to the first few episodes. Thank you, you helped. The high pitch whistle in the theme is a bit much for my TBI but your stories and sharing helped calm and entertain in a soothing way.
  • MDSCHR
    Whistling.
I really wanna love this podcast, but I just can’t add it to my rotation of sleepy time podcasts because of true high pitched whistling at the start of every episode. It’s really loud and jarring! The rest of the podcast is wonderful! Wonderful and cozy voice, thrilling stories and engaging story telling! Great job!
  • Shana29
Amazing with 1 small drawback ( personal preference)
I love this podcast! The only thing I would change is the high pitch whistling.... I listen to them as I fall asleep and sometimes I’m almost out and that whistle wakes me up lol .
  • Polizyr
    Gorgeous
This is a great podcast! The stories are hauntingly beautiful but still provide you with the chill you are looking for.

    What A Show!
There is something hypnotic about literally every aspect of this production. Something dark and raw. Elegant and quite scary. Each episode brings us further and further into the heart of our otherworldly narrator as she relates to us tales of the supernatural realm around us that she's either experienced firsthand or has been told by another. You simply must give this show a go if you love horror! Much love from Mister Watson.

    A cure for my insomnia
Wow, what can I say this podcast is amazing. I have never written a review for anything before let alone a podcast but this one is deserving. The writing is top notch, you feel like the narrator Kristen is actually talking to you when you listen. Not only that but Kristen’s voice is so wonderfully soothing, in this dark sexy way. She could probably read the phone book to me and I could relax and doze off, but her amazing writing along with that voice.....it’s podcast perfection.
  • Ferriny
    Great job!
Great story telling and content! Keeps me coming back for the next episode! Well done!
  • Nonnanoppan00dle
    Love Kristen’s voice!!
It’s like being told a bedtime story, only you never want to fall asleep because that would mean you have to stop listening. Keep up the great work!
  • Dave's Store
    Love listening to the narrator
I stumbled on this podcast by accident, as it's not usually the genre I seek out. But I was drawn right away to Kristen's voice and unique storytelling ability. She really draws you in and makes you feel like she's talking directly to me. The stories are cool, but they wouldn't be interesting to me without Kristen's "character" telling them in such a compelling way. Her character is creepy, but friendly and extremely likeable. Great job on this!
