Excellent source of insight in ecological farming. BUT: It’s time to split this into multiple shows. The feed is feeling cluttered and it affects the ratings. It will be easier to find exactly what one is looking for—for example, someone loves the daily podcast with Farmer Jesse but Collab farming and winter growing is irrelevant, or you don’t appreciate the host, then you don’t have to sort through it all, and No Till growers stops getting negative feedback that’s all lumped together.

Absolutely love this podcast and hearing from real people who use science and creativity to nurture healthy ecosystems we cultivate for food. We call them farmers

I have been farming for over 5 years, and I learn something new on each episode I’ve listened to. I especially enjoy the winter growers’ podcast series. Also, it’s such a relief to hear others battle similar obstacles that we are facing in the small growers’ arena. Thank you for building up this community!

In its current form, this should be three podcasts. Each hosts has different skills. One host is awesome. Another host is marginal but sometimes has an ok guest. I won’t listen to the other host. I don’t subscribe anymore but occasionally check in.

That voice!! Waaay too ASMR-y for me…it sounds like she’s cupping her hands around my ear and whispering. Very unpleasant to listen.

The content is good. I just can’t listen for long because her voice drives me crazy. It’s like baby talk. Maybe it’s something to do with the recording, but it sounds like I’m in her mouth and I would just like to hear her pulled away from the microphone a bit. I do like what she talks about, I won’t take that from her - she has interesting content.

God I loved this podcast, but cannot even get through the intro with the new host. Her speaking is like nails on a chalkboard.

Look, this is a pretty good podcast and I’ve got a lot out of it so that’s why I’m giving 5 stars but I just have to say the lady that does the composting pod episodes needs to take a drink of water before recording it’s rough to listen to and obviously someone was too nervous to bring it up so I’m going to. It’s a brutal listen that distracts from her important information.

I love this podcast! The host asks smart questions and has great, down to earth guests on with practical advice. I especially love hearing from other women farmers and their unique struggles and perspectives. I enjoy the philosophical explorations and the more specific how to’s. I hope in the future there can be some episodes and conversations with guests about land access and acquisition as that is one of the biggest obstacles for people wanting to get into this. Thanks for all you do!

What a great podcast, I consistently learn little tips that greatly benefit my farming endeavors. As a novice market farmer, publications like this are another great tool to have in my tool box. Thanks so much for putting out great content!

I am so grateful for this podcast! Finally getting caught up but feel like there are many nuggets I’ve likely missed so I’ll start from the beginning again. We are starting our farm this year and I think within the first 2 minutes of this podcast I heard “yeah, you have to till it first” and I knew this was going to be down to earth, realistic knowledge- not a glossed over, romanticized version of gardening. I love how guests hold nothing back and nerd out- so much learning here! If you’re taking requests on topics, I’d love to hear more about the things a new market gardener should know but where Google fails. Like, grants. (Maybe an episode with a grant giving institution rep?) Or incorporating hugelkulturs, hedgerows, windbreaks, etc into a profitable market garden. Or where farms are born of overgrown, brushy land and not repurposed pasture. Again, so appreciative of all your hard work putting together such a valuable resource.

This podcast covers a wide array of topics; from collaborative farming to seed saving! It is a great resource when it is better to have just audio versus watching a video. Thank you to all who make this! I think the three best episodes that I have listened to are with Neil Kinsey, Christine Jones, and Gabe Brown. It would be amazing if Neil and Christine did an interview together. I think this podcast is also applicable to home gardeners.

Trying to find resources for learning about no till methods and another flower farmer suggested this podcast! But I am learning soo much more too! Soil health, cover cropping, all the things a farmer needs to know to go from empty field to loads of flowers!

I found this podcast last year sometime when I was still reeling from the loss of the Farmer to Farmer podcast. I live and farm in remote Alaska surrounded by National Park and Native lands and while many folks have a little homestead garden, it is hard to find people who care to speak about regenerative market gardening in depth. I have learned so much from listening to these interviews and have new ideas to try to increase our food security with minimal outside input. I hear about books, different techniques, and tools I might otherwise never discover on my own. Most of all, I just love listening to what is going on in the small farm community. Farmer Jesse is a fantastic host and asks the best questions with his unceasing curiosity. I often listen to back episodes while working in the garden and have to keep a notebook so I can scribble ideas down. The information from the beginning has been excellent and the audio quality has just continues to improve. Thank you for putting so much time into this podcast. I highly recommend anyone interested in market gardening or small farms to listen.

When I started my farm a year ago, I knew I wanted to do no till, but I didn’t feel like I had a lot of resources. There was a lot of guesswork and experimentation. I really wish I would’ve known about this podcast last year! I think it would’ve majorly helped and changed the way that I initially worked and cared for my soil. That being said, I now feel like I know and understand so many different methods and ways to go about no till in different situations. I truly think this podcast has made me a better farmer, a better land/soil steward, and I have SO MANY new ideas for the next growing season. The podcast also introduced me to things like Korean natural farming and soil remineralization- things that I don’t know very much about now, but I plan to dive into some rabbit holes over the winter. If you are a farmer, a gardener, a person who’s into soil, or you care about how your food is grown, then this podcast is a must. Definitely my favorite podcast to listen to while working in the field by myself. Thank you to everyone who puts this podcast together and to all the other patron members!

This podcast is amazing. I’m an amateur and it can take a few episodes to catch on to some of the lingo, but overall it’s very easy for beginners to learn from. It’s been so helpful in my transition to no-till/low-till methods. The interviews include a good variety of farmers in different climates and it’s helpful to hear everyone’s different approaches so I can create a toolbox of techniques.

Your shoes are always packed with information and new ways to think about gardening & farming. But your last show with Larisa from Soul Fire Farm was OUT of the PARK amazing! Thanks for shedding light on the ways earth care, food justice, racial justice and community all connect.

I found a lovely trick that we use here all the time. Soak the cardboard with water, this accomplishes two things. #1 you can pull the tape off super easy… #2 the cardboard is wet and heavy, easy to lay and will not blow away in the wind. The information provided is varied and extremely valuable. Also the audio and production quality is excellent. A couple of his early shows had some audio issues but even those are listenable. Farmer Jesse has a great personality and interview style. His guests are very knowledgeable. Most of the information is directed at commercial farmers but even casual hobbyist can learn a ton from this show.

Very inexperienced rookie gardener here, looking forward to get into no-till market gardening in the future. This podcast is a wealth of knowledge and will hopefully facilitate my transition into my new career. Keep fighting the good fight!

I’ve been dabbling in this podcast for a few months, but as I start a new job as the full time manager of a not for profit educational farm, I am suddenly VERY glad this podcast is here! Without it I would feel even more overwhelmed then I already do about trying to transition my 3 acres over to no till. I am so thankful that all this information on tools, techniques, and inspiration has been gathered in one place!

As a market gardener for the last 8 years there has been almost no info on no till. It’s finally here. Some episodes are amazing and other less enlightening. My favorites are Ace of Spades, Frith Farm and Four Winds. Thank you Jesse!

Thank you for taking the time to make this podcast. So happy to hear there will be a second season. I have listened to all the episodes and I learn something new from each one. I especailly loved the one with Karl Hammer, but they are all great. I am a first year no-till farmer and wish I had listened to all the episdoes last year, I would have had a better idea of how to get rid of all of my perriennal weeds.

This podcast is truly what I have been searching for since I got interested in small scale organic farming/market gardening. I truly believe that no-till techniques are the best for the soil and ultimately our food/environment. Jesse is a great farmer, interviewer, and content creator. He has featured some amazing guests that consistently provide tons of useful and inspiring information regarding the techniques that work for them on their farm, along with some amazing perspective on organic no-till farming and gardening. Jesse asks great questions that result in answers that can truly be applied in our own farms and gardens. I think that Jesse being a farmer that runs a successful farm of his own really allows him to come up with quality questions in his interviews that lead to very useful and impactful content.
