    Best NY Pod
As wfan has become a sad shell of itself it’s great we have an alternative like JJ. The best takes on all things NY sports. Don’t even like the same teams as him yet I still find his opinions interesting and worthwhile. We miss you on the fan JJ!

Definitely taking himself way too seriously
Seems like a good guy. Can be entertaining. However he has fallen into the “I know more about X team than the professional GM or coach or Manager “ stance. This despite zero experience. It is just completely crazy. Go ahead and make comments. That is fine. But you look and sound like an imbecile when you go down the expert route.

    Come back home
I loved the old jj on radio. Just not the same sounds a bit forced and unnatural now. Please come back to the fan
  • thisisgoodpodcast
    Dumb
Does not know what he is talking about jj.

    Great show JJ
You can’t listen to the regular radio anymore too many commercials every five minutes. Thank god we’ve got John who’s better then the rest of them anyways

    JJ is the GOAT
If you don’t listen to JJ, you’re missing out. He’s the best of the best. Love this guy.

    Love JJ
JJ always has well thought out takes and doesn't rely on dumb gimmicks. Always a great podcast!

    An Acquired Taste…
The title to the show.is perfect. If you are a former New Yorker who yearns for NY sports radio, this is the guy for you. JJ has the knowledge, accent and attitude that New Yorkers love. I listened to his show with Danny Kelly and I was hooked. One drawback. Listening to viewers voicemails. WAY too long. I would imagine someone not from New York would find these annoying. I did. There was no excuse to let people rant, unedited. I’m going to continue to follow. But I will set the sleep timer at 40 minutes.
  • dreadnattydread
    No.
As hard as he tries, and he tries, JJ does not represent NYC. Chill man.

    No more Francesca
Please no more Francesca. He offers 0 quality insight anymore, he is just a cranky old man who bullies people. Never takes responsibility for his stupid takes re: Urban Meyer being a slam dunk nfl coach.

    JJ
JJ was the best on air guy in sports radio and the transition to podcasting has been fantastic. A great listen for NY sports fans who especially can’t stand what WFAN has turned into
  • 80'sVillager
    Trump Enabler
JJ you can’t let Joe Benigno go on your air and do the Trump Bump as he spouts his Fox News bull against Joe Biden. Whether you are one of Biden’s 81 million voters or not the name of your podcast is New York New York not Sweet Home Alabama and you know in New York we danced in the streets when Biden was elected. You need to rep us not stay shut when Benigno spouts his right wing bull.

    A Must Listen
The great JJ brings the old soul vibe (and a huge loyal fan base that is following him from WFAN) along with the gambling side, so he has 2 segments of the fan base that love listening to him. I’m not into gambling, but he is still a must listen. WFAN’s loss is the Ringer’s gain.

    Politics
Not interested in washed up joe beningos political views. What a clown. Lost an avid listener and supporter.
  • DontHurtSpidey
    I’m not gonna lie
I hate this guy with the intensity of a thousand suns. “I’m bringing the fire? I’m bringing the rain”. What an f’ing cheeseball. How did this guy get on The Ringer?
  • Maaaaaaaattttttt33
    Annoying voice, worse analysis
Shock jock radio host with the most irritating voice, cadence and general way of speaking. Embarrassing NY sports analysis. Can’t believe this is the Ringer’s choice for NY representation.
  • mclairy2
    Never again
A podcast for babies & by a giant baby. Some of the worst analysis I’ve ever heard from the most grating voice in human existence.
  • ThePoonCoon
    JJ is the man
Favorite host on the FAN and is still killing it. Also can’t beat having the goat Joe B on for weekly picks! Awesome move by Bill from Los Angeles bringing him on!

    Excellent
Quickly become my favorite podcast. J.J. was exceptional at WFAN, but this format is just better. Less commercials, and you can listen at your convenience. Call Screener needs to do a better job. All these drunk heathens calling and cursing for 3 minute rants doesn’t do the show much. It works though. A great NY Sports podcast. And frankly; that’s missing in today’s market. WFAN has become the View for men. ESPN is irrelevant. I come to Jas.
  • The Eagle Ram
    Not really New York
This is a Yankees and Knicks Podcast. No matter what happens the Mets always are second to the Yankees in content. This podcast is 85 % Yankees 15 % Mets. JJ treats the Knicks as the most virtuous New York Franchise and treats the Nets like garbage even though the Nets are an actual contender and the Knicks are not. It’s good but could be a lot better in repping all of New York not just JJs favorite teams.

    Mike and the Mad Dogggggg
How many recycled Mike and the Mad Dog tropes can you jam into every podcast? “In a big spot”, “ya gotta give em credit”, “I was gonna kill em”, but “I’d sign for that right now”, “the guys a stud”, “ya cant have it both ways” etc etc etc. Do they get royalties?
  • Ajenebk
    Knowledgeable and passionate
I was skeptical. He used to be on WFAN and that Staten Island accent reminds me of the arrogant WFAN talking heads who think they invented sports talk radio but JJ is really smart. He brings it every show without coming off as arrogant.
  • PlugInCitizen
    Love JJ
First time, long time. JJ was terrific overnights on the WFAN. He knows his stuff and is passionate at what he does.
  • Jrza06949
If you like the Ringer Avoid This At All Costs
The Ringer brand was built on smart witty banter that was definitely not your typical sports-jerk radio. This sounds like a station your father would listen to between Rush Limbaugh and hits from the 60s. This is damaging to the Ringer Brand and is clearly a cash grab. I’m a NY fan and can’t listen to this.
  • TommyCNYC
    Love ya but...
Can he learn to talk in to the mic? Audio is crap. Real New Yorkers are listening to you on the train or out on the street and you cut in and out. Stay on the mic!
  • Triviawiz3000
    JJ is the man!
WFAN would rather fill quotas than keep talent.
  • SJ_Cull
Accidentally Rated - Show just not for me
I’m not into the sports radio persona this guy goes with and his yelling is a little too harsh in my headphones, but I meant to just unsubscribe and accidentally rated. I’ll probably never listen to this pod again, but if sports radio and NY sports is your thing, then this pod is for you!
  • MELON000-1
    I’m 100% a Boston Fan but ....
This guy is hysterical, no wonder Bill likes him, all the rankings.... Just great !
  • brianb1991
One of the best NY sports podcasts
I look forward to JJ saying “alllllrighty! Let’s roll baby!” every time! Nobody knows New York like JJ and him at The Ringer is a perfect fit! I’ve left a few voicemails and plan on leaving a few more!
  • GatorJetsMets33
JJ is the best for New York sports
with the goat Mike Francesa retired, it’s JJ’s turn in the limelight. Getting out of WFAN is the best thing for his career. The ringer and Bill Simmons continue to win. JJ is going to be the GOAT when he retires. 5 STARS!
  • gag24
    A real radio show
JJ is a pro. He is someone who has the skill and true radio personality that is missing In most podcasts. You can’t just start a podcast and recreate the years of experience from live Radio JJ has. It is just better than most podcasts
  • LGM_86
    More Mets Coverage
When JJ talks baseball, he spends at least 90% of his time on the Yankees. At least a third of NY baseball fans are Mets fans though, more time on the Mets would be appreciated
  • Aaron Jerdge
    Not the same
Not the same JJ for sure. The voicemails are terrible.
  • Dsartor
    The best
JJ is definitely one of the best on NY sports talk radio. Glad he got this podcast with Bill from LA. JJ always killing it
  • Pmerrich
    JJ’s Rise
WFAN made a huge mistake letting JJ leave. He should be the new face of the station. What I don’t like about the podcasts is the lack of interaction with the fans. This is just another stepping stone for JJ. He will not be doing podcasts for the next 20 years.
  • Christopher Fitzoatrjcn
    JJ, my man!!
Love the show, JJ! This is among the best moves The Ringer has made.
  • Pat from Poughkeepsie
    JJ is the man
I haven’t had the feeling of listening to good NY sports radio on a podcast until now. JJ brings the energy and knowledge that the NY sports fans deserve.

    Superstar in the making
JJ had a meteoric rise at WFAN, and now the entire country can bear witness to how talented he is. First few episodes have been electric. Excited to see what’s next for the pride of Staten Island

Good move leaving wfan the station is stale You should have gotten the afternoon slot But the move to the ringer is even better then that slot would have been

    Wfan missed big time

    Commercials too LOUD
Finally a NY podcast for all us transplants but the commercials are much louder than the show. Do some live reads and drop the over produced radio voice ads at deafening volume!

    JJ is the man!
When u tune in to JJ’s show, u know he’s gonna be energetic and not hold back when it comes to his opinions. Almost every single night I’d listen to JJ and man oh man is he fun to listen to. Even during the sports hiatus, somehow JJ managed to keep us entertained and his knowledge of sports is pretty up there. Highly recommend JJ for ur sports needs! I’m really happy for him that he was able to take advantage of this opportunity and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
