Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson bring you an NFL podcast unlike any other, because it comes backed by Pro Football Focus and their unique data insights. PFF watches and grades every player on every play of the NFL season to give you a look inside the game nobody else can rival. From uncovering secret superstars around the league to discussing which teams are best positioned for a Super Bowl run, Steve and Sam use football's most in-depth database to create an informative listen for every level of NFL football fan. Come January, they turn their attention to the draft, because today's NFL has no off-season, and draw upon PFF's play-by-play grading of every FBS college game to shape their draft discussions.

Not really into the political adds in such an important election year. Will be moving on.

    Great pod, but…
Love the pod, but can whoever keeps hitting the table while talking please stop? 😂

Love Big Goofy and love Sam even more.
Literally the one sports podcast/show that doesn’t quickly get tired and/or annoying after a few listens. I don’t know how much work went into placing BG and Sam together if it was just a flip of a coin, but they’re the best at what they do. I could listen to them talk shop all day. And they truly are very insightful and helpful with their on field analysis etc — I’ve learned tons of stuff I barely knew existed outside of the show — but they’re also funny and entertaining in a natural way that keeps the show moving and never really try-hard. Point is, if you’re not already a regular listener and you enjoy ball — subscribe and give it a few eps and I promise you won’t be disappointed at all

    Post SB Sickness Story
Sam & Steve’s retelling of the SB Covid incident is high level comedy! Intelligent show with thoughtful analysis. A great listen!

    Sound
Your sound quality in LV is terrible. Love the show though.

The primary statistics that have been used EVERY OTHER YEAR don’t matter? TJ plays nearly EVERY play. Liam.

wow—for both of you not to see that the point of kicking a FG on the first of the two bad 4th down decisions was to make it a 3 score game with 20min to go is astonishing. i know that you need to be committed to your analytics, but it is blind allegiance that damns your position. that decision was sheer stupidity — the point is to win the game, not try to prove your point…

    I miss the old days
Most of the best PFF talent is gone now and this product has suffered too

    Awfully long
I really like the hosts and the style of analysis, however cutting those 2+ hour episodes to more like 1.5 hours would be good. Just have to cut some of that tangential filler.
  • bluesalamone
    Love this with brief exception
Love all the hosts save Brad Spielberger and his grating sing song voice. Plus he has a habit of droning on and on, Ben Solak style to where his voice just becomes an irritating hum that you try to tune out. Love all the other guys though. Best NFL pod today

    Fight, Fight, Fight
My favorite football analysis but it’s starting to feel like Steve and Sam are sick of each other and need to fight it out like 2 brothers who have to share a room. Everything one says unnecessarily pisses the other off

    time codes
I appreciate them providing time codes for the different segments. I would appreciate them more if they were accurate.

    Still good, but…
Palazollo is good, but the glee that Monson evinces when someone does badly is off-putting still.
  • MNvike2015x
If you can suffer the digressions.
The football content is terrific. The hosts have fallen into the trap of apparently becoming convinced they are adorable and insist on indulging themselves far too often. ‘Hey Siri go forward three minutes.’ is a phrase I use a lot.

    NO MORE SIKKEMA
This is without a doubt my favorite football podcast when Sam and Steve are hosting. It’s also very good when someone like Brad has to fill in for one of the usual hosts. But I’m sorry Trevor Sikkema is utterly unlistenable. Please stop having him on the podcast.

Lots of folks these days hide behind “experience” to mask their ignorance of how both the game and team building have evolved. These guys KNOW. Amazing stuff.

    Injury show
The injury show was probably the most interesting off season show I’ve heard. Great job by the guest and can the NY Giants please hire him… 😂

    Helpful for understanding PFF
This has helped me understand what PFF is trying to accomplish and how they go about scoring plays. It’s helped frame the conversation about analytics better for me!

    New idea
You guys should try to solve a puzzle on profootballgrid.com with the audience

    Stick to NFL.
The opening banter sometimes extending several excruciating minutes, on their golf games or whatever else is unnecessary and uninteresting. Stick to football that’s why we’re here nobody cares what you did over the weekend or what your golf score is.

    Nick Chubb what?!
Love the pod. Huge fan. I’ve been listening for a long time. I really like the last pod with a QB and RB ranking, but homeboy from stock exchange wouldn’t touch deshaun Watson with a ten foot poll, and ranked Nick Chubb #1 but didn’t say a single thing about why. Why is nick chubb the quiet number one? Why doesn’t anyone give him the props?! Huge browns fan here, hate Watson, wish we had the picks back, but Chubb definitely didn’t get his due on this episode. Not a single attribute of his was mentioned. Correct this, gentleman! You both agreed he was number one, but not a word about his game. A shame.
  • Impossibly Handsome
    Great, But Accent-Heavy
… First of all, the show is truly great. I’m a legitimate NFL draft enthusiast and this show is remarkably informative, well-researched, and stat meaty. The Hosts are bright, fair, and wrong less often than other draft hosts, who try too hard to be provocative. It is challenging to get past Sam’s Irish accent at times, however. He sounds like an extra from The Banshees of Inisherin discussing Interior Lineman. Nevertheless, I will continue to listen and learn and probably get thirsty for a pint of store-bought Guinness.
  • Everyday Abstract
    Souring on the show
Sam is bad at sharing, and can’t help but to repeat himself. Sam says one thing. The person opposite says something. Sam says ‘yeah but…’ then says what he already said, in a desperate to be more right. I envision a child stomping his feet yelling ‘I’m smart too!!!!!!’ It’s gotten old.

    No one cares
No one cares how a player compares to your size , no one cares about your failed career. No one cares the player is as small as you, stick to the stuff ppf feeds you . Hey Chris, replace these clowns with some guys who don’t talk about themselves so much
  • Ianmoran
Mostly great, not a fan of Mike Renner
This show has a great balance of knowledge and banter. Don’t take themselves too seriously and is a pleasant listen that I’ve been subscribed to for years. Renner just bores me and hurts that dynamic, but to each their own. It’s easy enough to just skip episodes with him in it.

Get to content and stop rambling
You guys have good stuff to say but it can be done in half the time or less. Stop rambling so much.

    10 stars
Can you please explain to ppl that not all 27 teams with no elite Qb can just tank for 20 years until they randomly stumble upon an elite Qb and sometimes you have to pay a guy that has something to offer
  • Mmdean
    Not funny
These guys think they are very witty and they’re not. Why do all sports guys think they’re comedians? Talk about football and knock off the crap.
  • d-jord
Can you guys get Renner his own draft podcast again?
Can you guys please let Mike Renner have his own draft podcast again. I went from having Tailgate, to Talking Ball, to Just Football. Now I’m listening to baseball podcasts with the lack of content. That’s what things have come to
  • wargograw
    TOO MANY EPISODES
Sam and random people talking about the draft should be its own show. I don’t like to miss an episode of PFF but 3x per week was already really pushing it. 4-5 is just ridiculous.
  • Nedward Jones
    Best NFL podcast
    Yup.
  • john snow65
    Too long
Decent show, but they need to trim it down to 45 minutes tops, 1.5-2 hours is too long for a podcast
  • Lawgiver97
    West coast
I know the squad likes to lead on as if they don’t disregard teams on the West Coast but I think this matter is over considering they didn’t even do a preview of the 49ers Seahawks game tonight
  • Hdjdjisjdheueurjdhej
Love the show but sound quality is spotty so?
Great knowledge imparters, sound sometimes is a problem past two podcasts have been unlistenable bc of background static maybe a bad mic? Please fix so I can listen again
  • mcx1110
    Great general NFL chat
This show is exactly what I was looking for. They cover the entire league, with short previews and recaps for each game. It’s a good mix: they bring up Vegas lines but it’s not a gambling show, and they talk analytics without getting too granular. Hosts have good chemistry and conversation flows nicely.
  • Damian4776
    Here for it all.
Before we begin I want to make one thing clear. I love the rugby talk, I love the long episodes, and most importantly I love the actual football analysis. This podcast is great it’s an appropriate amount of depth and analysis. If I wanted to listen to headlines in 3 minutes per game I would go do that. My only complete about this absolutely perfect podcast is that I could use a little bit less honesty about my Vikings.
  • sports14141313
    Good show
The show delivers great analysis and I think Steve is great. However Sam’s sarcastic comments and disrespect towards NFL players is extremely off putting. I think another host would take the podcast to the next level.

    Fix time stamps
Fix the time stamps. Theyre usually minutes off.
  • Smitty2Litty
    Great Show
Steve and Sam constantly kill it, every episode. I been listening to them for over a year now, and they give the most educated NFL analysis than anyone out there!
  • Krame Man
    PFF Pod Review
Sam is sort of a harsh person when it comes to talking about players. The lack of humanity on his part makes this a tough listen. Wish Steve had a different co-host.
  • Philbertjs
    Smug
So pretentious. Sam especially. I unsubscribed and I am much happier now.
  • Payitback
Content is Great But They Take Their Audience Granted.
At some point podcast hosts will show enough respect for their audience to not record a podcast where one of the hosts internet connection is spotty at best. If this were radio or television, the offending party would be dropped until the connection would be re-established. Here we had to continue listening to every third word while the host tried to find a better location. Extremely annoying to listen to particularly on the first show after the NFL season’s opening week.
