    The worst football podcast
However bad you think this podcast is based on the low ratings, it will be a 10x worse. I rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than this negative and constant complaining show
  • Jsr1127
    Ridiculous Episode
Been a fan for years now but it’s Pretty ridiculous that a Sports podcast is doing special on an artist. Pretty sure there’s a channel for that. Not to mention ITS SUPER BOWL week. I don’t see the NBA show doing a random special on Future or Taylor Swift for the finals. We have the a team going for the 1st 3 peat in NFL history and we are talking about Kendrick Lamar come on man.
  • bennett_nj
    Good overall NFL show
The Josh Allen episode was probably my favorite episode of any podcast in 2025 — and I listen to a lot of podcasts. I converted a couple of friends to Buffalo fandom with it, and I’m not even a Bills fan.
  • JaThBu
    Take Out the Bias
You all keep talking about Lamar Jackson having to dig himself out of a hole - he made the hole with two terrible first half turnovers! He’s an awesome player who came up short in a big game (again). Please leave the sugarcoating to a lesser talented podcast.

    I miss Solak
I tried to stick with it after Solak left for ESPN. Perhaps I would have been able to were it not for Ruiz. He’s a wet blanket. Love Sheil and Nora is generally fine. But yeah, Steven is just the worst.
  • Popo_Nono
    Jayden Daniels QB20
Steven Ruiz’s qb20 just pitched a perfect game against the overall #1 seed to get to the NFC championship game, in his rookie year. Now why would i would i take anything this guy says seriously?

    Constructive Criticism
I *really* have not liked the standalone Nora pods from this season. They are ridiculously over-produced and over-scripted. Music is hugely distracting. The sexuality of Josh Allen? Really? Nora should either be on the pod full-time like past years or make a clean break and just do pop stuff full time for The Ringer if that’s what she wants to do. I get that The Ringer’s brand is the nexus of culture and sports, and that’s fine, Bill’s made a huge profit on it, but this feed usually focuses more on the sports side. Regular pod is fine. Which I guess means I’m in the minority of recent reviews? Hah. I’m nice, so, still five stars.

    Football for the pessimist
It’s obvious that everyone puts effort into this show, but limit your dosing because it dampens the joy of the game. Kapadia and Princiotti seem to genuinely love the variability and narratives of an NFL season, but it’s unclear why the Wet Blanket Brothers (Ruiz and Lee) bother watching games. If a season-long outcome fails to match their priors, they struggle to to adjust and are surprisingly dogmatic when drawing inference from film and football statistics (which are notoriously poor in their predictive value). As a gambler, proceed with caution. As a fan, you’ll probably find more joy in a winning season by listening elsewhere.

    As Others Have Said
Steven Ruiz is impressively bad at this. I’d rather not let the “one” bring down the “many”, but that’s just how bad he is to even make that a possibility.

    Great Show
Very chill show. I really like Diante, Nora and Sheil, they are just kinda relaxed and rational and even if I disagree with them, I think they make their point understood. Nora has done great work covering Rodgers and my behated Jets, and I thank her for that. Hoping to hear her thoughts on their new start post Douglas era. Ruiz’s energy is great, very insightful, and in my book he should be allowed to do him and have a different energy. I do sometimes think he can sound too smug for football prognostication. Anytime someone is even a little smug about something as objectively dumb as football it comes off worse than it really is. Small tweaks nothing big, keep it up!

    Preview pod
Sheil, Ruiz, and Diante is the best combo the preview pod has ever had. Really enjoy it.
  • bgq69
    Steven Ruiz is the Worst
Would be a 3-4 star show but he brings the quality down soooo much. Thinks saying “watch the tape” Gives him cred. Bill Simmons must not Listen to this one cause this is by far the weakest of the ringer pods .

    Worst NFL Coverage Out There
The ringer NFL coverage is some of the worst NFL coverage out there. The two clowns on this podcast clearly don’t watch football or have any knowledge of it whatsoever. There is plenty of better coverage and better NFL podcasts out there. Don’t waste your time with this one.
  • CoachWoot
    Hear me out.
You guys really hate the black Quarterback, you talk so highly of Burrow, Herbert, etc, but talk down about Lamar, Jayden, etc. I don’t know if it’s on purpose or just natural for you. But between that and Nora being annoying I’m done.
  • onuskosw
    7 out of 10
Listing prop bets for 30 minutes is not the greatest way to preview a weekend of football. Analysis can be a bit surface level/vibes based especially the Nora segments on Wednesdays. The YouTube film breakdowns were the best thing they had going so hopefully someone picks that back up. Otherwise hosts are enjoyable enough.
  • L.E.Dodgers
    Too much negativity and ego
Started and stopped listening this season and this is why: Lee and Ruiz have to stop being such haters, essentially. Jayden Daniels played phenomenally against the Bengals and Cardinals, for instance, and if we excited fans listened to the show to find out why — or at minimum have them acknowledge the fact — all we got instead was them dismissing him and Kingsbury while trying to make their previous takes about them right. But if Caleb Williams throws for 157 yards, because he’s apparently their guy, he’s the next Mahomes. I started listening in hopes of becoming smarter about the NFL, and instead encountered two folks more concerned about convincing us how smart and right they are. And consistent exposure to their “Yeah, but…” take mentality toward seemingly anything positive has become too exhausting for me to continue listening. I don’t mean this to be overly critical and they all seem like great guys and wonderful professionals. That’s not the point. Feedback is important for everyone to improve and this is just my honest review of what I’ve heard since I started listening this season. Hopefully it will get through and best of luck to everyone in the future.

Will be a five with one change
Why is Ruiz so rude and snarky about everything? Love you, Sheil. Diante, you’re solid. But it’s hard to get through a full episode sometimes. Sheil and Diante duo pods can’t come soon enough
  • 3-Peat
    No Good Anymore
I liked this show when Ben Solak was on but it’s insufferable smugness now. Chiefs fan here who just heard 10 minutes of hate and nonsense about the 2x defending SB Champions because the way they are winning isn’t the way you hoped for. Unfollowed! Also it’s not this particular incident, the show has sucked for a while, just the last straw.

    Aaron Rodgers special
What a trash job by Nora P. This is another example of left leaning sports journalists - Mina Kimes, Dan Graziano, Lebatard - doing a hatchet job on an athelete that doesn’t conform to their view of government or its unimpeachable handling of COVID. Rodgers is a magician on the football field. That’s what we want to hear pods like the Ringer address as we drive home from work. Instead we get this hatchet piece about Aaron Rodgers’ politics. This is justified by Nora P because Aaron Rodgers has a platform and politics and sports increasingly mix. Obviously. This mixing explains why a sports reporter is trying to do non-sports journalism. No sense of irony here. Of course Jimmy Kimmel and Steven Colbert mix entertainment and politics with their platforms but this is ok cause its satire. Give me a break. Am done with the Ringer.

    Derek Carr Critique
I listened to the most recent epi and was curious to hear the Derek Carr critique. I than went to the web site to see his QB rankings, saw that he had Trevor Lawrence ranked WAY ahead of Carr and Brock Purdy and then completely discounted everything he said. WTH?
  • Jayupthea
    What is happening
It’d be nice if they could keep a quality host for more than a season. Maye, Clark, and now solak all out the door. I can’t keep listening to sheil gasp for air on every show
  • Ditchweed721
    The best NFL content
I have been a fan for years. It’s like having a group of smart and funny friends who love talking football. Steven and Nora 👍
  • Mondo City
    Too negative
Want to like this show and consume the NFL content but Ruiz is so negative it’s borderline depressing. Just can’t do it, even though Sheil is great.
  • DC Steve 42
Y’all know there was a game Friday night, right?
I know there’s Philly Special, but c’mon, Shiel! Not even a sentence on the Eagles-Packers game on this show?! I get it wasn’t on Sunday but you caught the Thursday night game on the last pod, so seems like maybe there should’ve been at least a mention of it here. It’s ok though, as a BWF of fan from ‘17, I still love ya!
  • Postal League 3849ers
    A really uneven experience
Sheil is a gem, one of the best football hosts at the Ringer. But Ruiz and Diante are legit some of the worst talent at the company. The dannys always crush but they need to desperately throw some better production around Sheil with Solak gone.
  • Oats ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
    Love it
Good stuff but sheil, you’re not supposed to pronounce the G in ringer like that
  • Dale Bare
    Ruiz
Bill wont buy you a microphone?
  • Chaz9614
    Hosts have no chemistry
With Solak gone now, the hosts they have now simply don’t have chemistry with each other. I think they’re all fine analysts, but Solak and Sheil had the best chemistry and best show concept and he seems lost and uninterested in talking with any of the other hosts. There’s no banter or back and forth, they just talk. I’ve started listening to some ESPN pods for the first time ever, following Solak over there, and it’s been a lot better. The Ringer Fantasy Football guys is the chemistry everyone on this show should strive for.

    Now I can listen
They finally got a good lineup of people on this show. No annoying voices and screaming, just real football talk.
  • @blayes213
    Steven
    Steven Ruiz is horrible.
  • Pats fan 2027
    Much better
Most nfl podcasts are the same and just comes down to personalities. Since they added Diante, it’s much better because he does not have an annoying voice. I went to listen to the old guy on espn and man his voice is so annoying. No idea how he was hired elsewhere. Can’t wait to listen all year.
  • littlehunnies
    Nora…
I’m not sure what happened to Nora but she contributes absolutely nothing of value anymore. She talks about herself and then says that nothing bothers her and has zero takes on anything. Why are you still on the show?????? I fell in love with the show because of her female perspective but man, I hope it improves.
  • CJ Kania
    See ya Solak
Solak is leaving? This show might become bearable again. The days of Kevin Clark & Robert Mays seem so long ago.
  • the man 69696969696969
    Some good some bad
I was very happy when Kevin Clark was removed from this feed. However, I find Nora to be incredibly difficult to listen to. My favorite pod was the Heifetz, Ben, Steven preview. I like the Ben and Sheil dynamic, but this Nora and Steven show is horrendous. Immediately delete as it downloads. I hate to be tough, but Ben leaving means I’m leaving. The Ringer needs a complete football podcast overhaul to get me back.
  • Chaloopa12
    Ringer nfl
Nora and Steven saying the raiders can’t be respected when Aiden O’Connell is the starter, bro they signed minshew to a sizable contract, there’s no way he isn’t the starter week 1. Classic uninformed take that consistently happens here.
  • Ldonklee
    Austin Gail
“Cincinnati is still terrible”. Very nuanced thanks
  • YungDabDaddy
    Rocking the Boat
Have enjoyed for a long time, but I’m sorry Austin is not ready for regular appearances on the big stage. He seems like his lines and “takes” are rehearsed, or sourced from Twitter. Seems like a good dude but he seems to really struggle keeping up with actual football convo, and tends to turn things towards internet culture or takes or memes. Lots of good stuff, and he’s clearly an entertaining dude but these are pretty technical football pods, and it doesn’t feel like he studies the game nearly enough to keep up with the others on the show. Lots of room for improvement, but in the meantime it makes for pretty disjointed and generic conversation
  • Eroq
    Dual threat is good!
I love the two hosts for the show dual threat. They know a lot, there are funny. I learn a lot from them. What I like also is they are intelligent! Smart and funny is all a good combo.
  • SerialKardashianKiller
EPT is the only reason I subscribe
Extra Point Taken is worth my time. Kapadia and Solak are thoughtful and entertaining. The Dual Threat pod is like an STI that keeps flaring up, when all I wanted was EPT sex.
  • scottweidner
    Good pod
Great interesting takes go to football pod
  • Rayofsunshine66693
    Hosts hate the eagles
Some okay content, but complete lunacy when it comes to discussing the most and least improved in the NFC east. Spending zero time on the eagles and, little time on Dallas and blithely crowning the Giants as the most improved with their 6 whole draft picks. It’s lazy. It’s not good content.
  • FallOutBoysuckss
    Ruiz is awful
Extra Point taken is great, but Dual Threat is bad primarily due to Steven Ruiz being completely insufferable. He is unbearable to listen to.
  • Tazerious
    Up their own a**es
These guys love the smell of their own farts. If you want a podcast that simps for the Chiefs when they look like trash while discrediting legit success from the Broncos, this podcast has the low hanging analysis for you. They misquote stats like it’s their job, for instance “if the bills beat the cowboys and lose their next 3, they still have an 89% chance at making the playoffs”. Garbage, bias commentary. Done trying to make this work. Unfollowed
  • JustinJBradley
One of the best shows out there!
By far the best show out there. This, Ringer, The Athletic, and Ross Tucker with Greg Cosell are my staples
  • Gary1551
    Hit or Miss
It is in the title. They either are productive and talk actual football or they are unproductive and talk about things that don’t matter. Sometimes it takes up half the episode. I think they should take after Bill’s and Ryen’s style more.
  • Sports fan guy 27
    Mostly good
Love EPT, but can’t stand Austin Gale. He sounds like he’s auditioning for first take instead of just doing the pod.
  • wpmadden1
    Extra Point Taken
Thanks Sheil & Ben, tremendous pod!!!
  • earlygreenway
Love the Ringer, but these hosts are hit or miss
Sheil Kapadia and Ben Solak are tough to listen to. They darts around and repeat themselves. A little hard to follow.
  • DaveH45
    EPT is 🔥
I hate to do this because EPT is a really good show but it baffles me that Nora continues to have a roll as a regular host on Duel Threat. She not only never says anything interesting, she’s literally a progress stopper to someone else making a good point. She will interrupt with a joke that falls completely flat and the does that insufferable giggle. I don’t even know how I feel about Ruiz because he doesn’t have a competent partner.
  • ScHoolBoyPooH
    Really Good Pod
Love Extra Point Taken. Ruiz being replaced on Dual Threat would be ideal. He’s just not good at this. I stopped listening to Dual Threat months ago because of him. Nora and Austin would make for a better pod imo.
