Ricky TenderkissI dropped Amazon Prime……and kept my Washington Post subscription. And I’m glad I did. Your journalism is close to being nonpareil. But how can you do an entire debrief on the outcome of the 2024 general election without once mentioning voter suppression? The principal project of conservative megadonors over the last 50 years has been severely restricting access to voting. A project conceived in the ‘70s and enacted beginning in the ‘80s is bearing strange fruit today. Conservative megadonors getting Trump into office a second time — largely by attacking voting, restricting voting, preventing voting, and tossing out an unprecedented number of ballots even after they were cast — is openly a win for the old Confederacy. Are you so genteel that, to uphold the old myth of U.S. exceptionalism, “the beacon of democracy and free elections,” you will ignore the truth in the data staring us all right in the face?? The right to vote itself has been under attack across the U.S. since the 1980s. Getting the truth out to the public will require an act of selfless journalism … and I hope you will commit it!

Nebbish in the Negative ZoneLet’s hear it for the WaPo journalists!During the election season, I’ve tuned in to this show regularly. I appreciate their thorough analysis and the array of journalists they bring in to speak to the subjects. The format has introduced me to a lot of strong voices at the Post. An episode I loved in particular was Elahe’s conversation about the excitement around Caitlin Clark. As someone who can just barely differentiate a basket ball from a baseball, I found the host and her guests’ humor and excitement contagious. Plus there was a welcome sense of joy and levity to the episode. The team is working hard at their jobs and it shows, in spite of all the chaos swirling around them.

RodandConBezosUnfollowing this great show due to Bezos actions on endorsements

zaccohThis ain’t news it’s activismIt’s awesome seeing this hack news organization eat itself because they won’t support the dumpster fire of a candidate they put forward. Keep murdering your offspring and calling yourself a victim behind sad music…see how far that gets you. No wonder you’re losing credibility and subscribers.

MumjoyDECISION NOT TO ENDORSEDead Post Reports, PLEASE do a timely podcast on the Washington Post’s extremely controversial and damaging decision not to publish a endorsement for president. The whole debacle is now important national news, it is a newsworthy event that has profound implications not just for the future of the Post, but for the state of U.S. journalism in the shadow of a possible second Trump presidency. It deserves your independent scrutiny and rigorous reporting. Everyone I know is canceling their subscriptions and is so deeply disappointed and it is important to demonstrate that the staff of the Post can report on the newspaper itself. Thank you. James

goodvsevilCmon BezosDo the right thing. The world is watching you.

happysnappahDoneTreating trump’s plans of ethnic cleansing as if they’re HOUSING POLICY? Done. Bye. Hope the WaPo folds because it’s not a legitimate journalistic outlet anymore. The darkness democracy dies in has arrived.
-
childish drivelI’ve had enoughAfter Bezo spiked the Harris endorsement, I no longer believe in the Post’s integrity or credibility. We’re watching the last great national newspaper die. I’m done.
-
wet desertWas about to subscribe to the Post but...Been listening to P-Rpts a while and was beginning to enjoy it, figured I'd subscribe to The Post til I learned Bezos crushed the Post Kamala endorsement so he doesn't anger Trump of Putins Asset wins so - see ya. Not supporting the spineless in the face of end of democracy so Bezos can not draw Trumps ire. What a coward

VynlgrlDemocracy dies in the DarknessCancelling my subscription, I’ll miss you.
-
TAK-IowaNever AgainThe Washington Post apparently believes both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are equally qualified to be President and thus doesn’t make an endorsement in a critical election. I have listened to my final episode of this program.

The RenewerVocal Fry Valley Girl: get out of my earsApart from the bothsiderist “analysis” and sanewashing Marianne Levine needs to take voice lessons because she is unlistenable.
-
ShellC72I want to like it.Please tell Marianne LeVine that if she wants to be taken seriously, please stop using her junior high voice. I appreciate the reporting but can’t tolerate the way she speaks.

jsh.bostonAnnoying voiceMaryann Please stop annoying Vally girl affectation. Unprofessional

ChristineNYCPoor simplistic reportingI just finished listening to an episode on how the Harris and Trump would affect your healthcare. It was written at a level below what fifth graders would be able to understand. The episode rolled the whole topic of abortion into “healthcare” like it was just another aspect of healthcare that people debate about and not a subject that has been politically manipulated for decades. Nothing to see here people move along. The fake Q&A between the host and the reporter is so lacking in insight. Softball questions that shed no light. Unsubscribe!

JedTothDisappointing because unbalancedAva Wallace presents WNNA players as victims of Caitlin Clark fans. However, Wallace deliberately neglects to mention the flagrant fouling against Clark that in general hasn’t been called (Britney Griner hits Clark in the face, no call; Dijonai Carrington pokes Clark in eye with 2 inch nails). This is what upsets Clark fans and with good reason. Wallace could have at least mentioned it as a controversy. I expect the Post to be balanced. While Wallace delivers her words with presence, she skewed the story. People watch Clark because she is next level good; something the WNBA hasn’t seen before.

Ds23455Say the word “terrorist” already!Elahe and Martine seem incapable of telling any story about Israel without simultaneously praising Hamas or Hezbollah, calling them “militant groups”. Hey ladies: the word is TERRORIST. Your blind bias is obvious and disgusting. I canceled my subscription to this podcast and the Post in general after their crystal-clear hatred of all things Israeli and/or Jewish came tumbling out in this last year. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Italian_beatleDemocracy dies in darkness, and you guys have turned off the lights…I find it hilarious that your show buys commercial space on conservative and libertarian podcasts. I used to think the WaPo was respectable and fair, albeit a tad left leaning. I grew up the daughter of a dedicated set of democrats, my dad the president of his local OCAW union. I cannot believe how far your newspaper has fallen into hiding truths, downplaying important stories, and promoting communistic rhetoric. The two stars for this podcast is because I hope at least your print media is more centrist, but based on what I’ve heard so far, I’m not encouraged. Such a shame.

DavidjkeysLong declineI used to be a big Washington Post fan, but good Lord over the last year and a half or so has just been a bunch of hot ideological garbage. A perfect example is today’s episode on Wednesday, September 25 discussing the possible emerging war between Hasbulla and Israel. The conversation starts off with a Washington Post “reporter“ interviewing a lady from Lebanon, the Lebanese lady was asked by the reporter if she was impacted By Israel’s bombs (which is a loaded in itself…), and the reporter was shown the ladies phone who scrolled to her social media accounts showing “people who had died from bombs“. News like this is embarrassing. I’m embarrassed that the Washington Post publishes contents like this. I used to be a big fan, but you have to report the story, not report your heart. this is a horrible example of news coverage and should strictly be labeled as a personal piece. This piece is a microcosm of similar content broadly covering the war between Israel and Hamas. But even outside of this war, the Post has started to model most of the stories in a very opinionated way, just like this. Again, most of the content being provided here are opinion pieces, not news pieces. The Post should really reconsider retiling their podcast.

galiuroEpisode on FDA Front of packaged food labeling proposalThe show hosts kept referring to Cheerios as some sort of unhealthy food. This is clearly proof that the current labeling isn’t working because if you look at the label for Cheerios you see it is high in fiber, has a decent amount of protein and is low in sugar and fat. What’s not to like about that?
-
Nbe4uWay too liberalI was looking for a podcast where I can get my fair and balanced news. This podcast you can tell after a few episodes that is way too left leaning. Good luck in sustaining this mess.

Deutschmark nieMostly slopThere are a few good reports but the second they get onto anything political it’s turns into propaganda ProleFeed slop…. The lastest report focusing on Haitians and the rumors of cat eating totally ignores the real issue of what happens when you import 1/3 of a town’s population from a third world failed state over less then a year

Gem City JavahoundElahe and Martine are great!I listen to Post Reports almost every morning on my commute (when I'm not listening to my book club book on audible (but I catch up on episodes in between meetings)). Elahe and Martine are such great company on the drive; I appreciate their insightful questions and thoughtful discussion with guests, and I know I can rely on them to keep me up to date on the biggest news of the day. They've upped my water-cooler-chat game immeasurably.

TsnagAffirmationYou are a great podcast host!

A floof named dogVery Hit or MissI don’t mind the politics. I don’t mind the takes. But lately the topics have been DRY. Drink a cup of coffee at least before you go and spew 1800’s history on an episode of a doomed election in a gerrymandered district. (Speaking of which, ran dry on episode ideas that day?)
-
DannyboyS62Ukraine updateThe Ukraine war analysis was rudimentary and lacked certainty on why Ukraine is fighting for their life and their freedoms. It’s as if it’s the first time you read about it. You need to bring on board a more seasoned war commentator explaining why wars become necessary if you have been attacked.

CuriouslyengagedHarris Walz interview podReally ? Are you serious ? Spare me your critic on this Inventing cynicism

Megan639Sexist & discriminatory against womenI like this podcast for election coverage but please stay out of culture war issues. For instance, the recent episode on trans athletes was ridiculous. Men have 40% larger lung capacity than women. They also have longer limbs and therefore longer strides. All this and more are what make men so much faster at running than women. Hence, why there has always been a gender divide in sports. Now that people are switching genders all the time, it’s obvious that sports should not be separated by gender, but rather by biological sex. Trans men have no chance to win against cis men and cis women have no chance to win against trans women. Biological males are going to destroy females in sports 99% of the time. Allowing trans women to compete in female sports is deeply unfair to cis women and physically endangers their safety. To promote such nonsense is actually sexist and discriminatory against a real marginalized group— women. Do better.

Marymount FanThe long aftermath… 8/17/24Martine, I am a 64 year old, progressive, crazy liberal lol white woman. This episode hit me very hard. I just want to comment - on you. How you hear this story and so many like them, as a young black woman, with such professionalism and grace just astounds me. I am in awe. And as a white woman, I just really need to say I am just so so sorry. My husband and I are devastated and ashamed by what our “ ancestors “ have done. I am just so sorry, and so impressed by you. I hope this isn’t inappropriate. I don’t pretend to understand what you go through. I’m just so horrified. It’s what is in my heart, as I finish listening to this story. You are an amazing young woman.

Tom BarnhillWhat happened?I just listened to the 8/16 episode. Was everyone drunk? I’ll stick to podcasts from The Times from now on. Garbage.

elvisinoa bit of an echo chamberi used to listen a lot, but lately i’ve been disappointed. this show wants to be a serious newsy show but struggles dearly for any nuance or balance, particularly when covering culture issues (surprise surprise, they can be touchy!) i’m not sure if this was always the case & i missed it because i tend to agree with their bias, or if it’s become more pronounced? Often the hosts have clearly picked a good side and a bad side to frame the hot-button issue being covered & they tend to REALLY straw man the arguments for the side they apparently feel are the bad guys. (a recent episode on transwomens’ participation in pro/collegiate sport is a case in point) This is fine if you don’t want your priors challenged, but for listeners that genuinely want to learn & engage with the issue it would be helpful to present both sides’ BEST arguments & let us make up our own minds. most issues really are more complex than post reports would have you believe.
-
artemis179Much more fact based than expectedAs I consumer of mostly independent media, I was suspicious that the Post would report only US sanctioned news. I listened out of curiosity at some point and was impressed with the depth and completeness of their coverage. I don’t listen to all episodes, but often learn complexities from those I do listen to.
-
loxodantaBasic speech training neededThe topics are interesting, useful and almost well done. I suggest that the reporters take a university level speech course. Also someone who is a verbal communication expert should frequently critique and help the reporters improve and upgrade their questioning and presentation skills. The verbal tics like “like” and others are off putting and at best distracting. Better organization of the intended interview or discussion would improve the podcasts a lot. WAPo can do a lot better.
-
Fraley2Amateurish and little valueThis is like listening to a moderately good college radio station news show. Instead of listening to knowledgeable people discussing important issues of the day, I’m eavesdropping on a bunch of twentysomethings repeat the soundbites of whatever is the current outrage. This does not enhance my subscription and I expect better from the Washington Post.

Midwest InstitutionalistSwift Boat SlanderOnce again, the Washington Post gives its tacit support and provides cover for LaCivita’s hateful Swift Boat slander of Tim Walz. They quibble over the ranks he served in, despite the fact that he served in that rank. They lied about what Walz had said, and they editorialized and criticized the Democratic party for things they would never criticize the Republican party for. They also failed to acknowledge how JD had stated in the past that he served in a combat role when he never in fact served in a combat role. Disgraceful, clearly biased - whether that be towards their own conservative outlook or the slimy access journalism they play with the Trump campaign, I cannot say for sure. Disappointing, and clearly supporting the slander of a good man.

ShellandjjExcellent Olympics Reporting!Just listened to the 8/6 report which, as always, was fantastic! Loved hearing the guest reporters weighing in on highlights and issues. Also enjoyed the part about the sounds of the Olympics. Thanks to you all!

ChuvkDallasGood and interestingThis stories are always interesting and in the moment. So, there is much to be learned from the podcast. However, I think the podcast, like so much of the mainstream media, is attempting to equalize the Trump campaign with whatever is happening on the Democratic side of the equation. there is no comparison. One good one is evil. Just say it because you know it’s true.

425wDitto Dirk DigglerLike….Please, Martin…lose the “like,” “you know,” “so?” Jargon is junk.
-
JudyKay61Disgraceful reportingYou speak of trump like he’s a regular run of the mill republican. Do not lose site of the fact that he’s a convicted felon a rapist and a deplorable liar it’s just disgusting listening to you guys gloat about these abusive men who are out to criminalize free speech among other things too numerous to list here. . Have you not been listening?
-
EmmanuellsamStop Interrupting !Long time listener but Gosh Martine is like a spoilt child that never grew out of it , told you she was special and still believes it. WHO INTERRUPTS ANOTHER HUMAN BEING AND JUST KEEPS GOING ?! been doing it for YEARS with no intent to change , does it to EVERYONE men or women , old or young ! Crazy main character energy , it’s crazy lol

idyllsundayI'll give two stars for creativityNot many people could, in all sincerity, take a presidential assassination attempt, and make it all about themselves. But then again, not many people work for Wapo. The skillful mastery to be able to both frame Wapo journalists as simultaneously the true victims of Trump's attempted assassination, but then almost immediately after that, also, the heroes(!) Impressive! You're a true American embarrassment. You will certainly make history, but for being self important buffoons. And for the record, I hate Trump; But this is ridiculous.
-
MG7ListensChildish, Dishonest, Silly girls! Grow up :)Exactly what is wrong and dishonest with American media. EVERYTHING is wrong and a complete lie on this podcast ! Please, don't waste your time!

DirkDiggler16Please…It’s getting like, hard to like, listen to like, professional, like journalism, like…..I love the reporting but I can’t keep listening to like, you know, like, idk, like….
-
V-SpainDay zeroI appreciate the reporting on water, and think it’s a disservice to listeners and the education needed re the topic to end on “hope” esp when it’s tepid and general. And a suggestion for Kasha Patel to stop ending every sentence like a question (on an up note) as if she’s unsure of her reporting.
-
katrinahurryHunter BidenDespite the years long “investigations” the only thing proven by the GOP is that Joe Biden may well be one of the most honest Presidents in American history. Martine did a nice job of reminding us that Hunter Biden, who is not a political figure, is nonetheless paying the price for being the son of President Biden.

The Real Zen BoyAmateurish Political CoverageYou would think a Washington based news organization would have great political coverage. It’s just the opposite. I would say it’s childish, but I know children that have more insight into the election then these jokers. They’re like that one kid in school that everyone hates because they go around stirring up trouble by saying this person said this about you (which they didn’t), then immediately running back to the original person saying something even more ridiculous. You know, the kind that are pregnant by high school. They start each issue with absurd MAGA talking points, let themselves be distracted by nonsense, and think that somehow election should be decided gossip girl style. Not one bit of substance is ever discussed. They are literally the reason we are going to have a fascist back in the WH, but can’t seem to figure why everyone tells them that. Well maybe if you weren’t so bubble headed and vacuous you would know. The rest of the stories are okay at best, but I’ve decided that as long as they are working for the Trump campaign for free again, it’s time to say goodbye.
