    Her voice
I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this girl’s voice should not be allowed in anyone’s headphones. Absolutely painful.

    Gun control
Gun control or y’all’s liberal term. “Common Sense Gun laws”. Otherwise known as no guns for anyone but the government. Will never work. The Firearm is only the tool. If you took all the guns away( which is Impossible ) Evil will find another way to kill. Vehicles, explosives, bats hammers knives ect. I carry for Defensive Reasons not offensive.

    Not anymore.
Too religious. Not everyone can prevent these things sometimes it sounds like you victim blame.

    Hate and Love relationship
Podcast is informative, however the host likes to get off topic and make jokes and snarky comments when they are not needed. Also does not edit the podcasts very well and you can hear him say the same thing multiple times in some episodes.

    Love this podcast
As a teacher, I am interested in the best way to defend myself and my students, should something happen. I appreciate the details. Keep up the good work.

Excellent Reporting from an Excellent Podcast
At any moment we could be killed by gunfire, at any second of our day. In an active shooter situation, there’s no way to know how you’ll react in the moment -unless you experience it. This podcast is an experience. It’s a compassionate warning light in the darkness. We live in a society obsessed with guns, and apparently? That's just the way we want it. The "thoughts and prayers" that are and have been offered are worth NOTHING until we do something about mental health, universal background checks, and gun violence. The epidemic is spreading

    Bravo.
I found this podcast after the Oxford High School, Michigan shooting (2021, not 2018 as mentioned in the MSU episode). OHS was my high school and I went back years later to provide community-wide trauma counseling after the horrific tragedy. I don’t know why, but listening to podcasts with details of other horrible tragedies like that one brought me calm, and your podcast helped me to function each day in the wake. You have helped me tremendously. Thank you. I grew up between both Oxford, Mi and East Lansing, Mi. Seeing both of my hometowns come across this podcast breaks my heart, but you do a fantastic job. Thank you.

    Well done and respectful
This is so well done and respectful. Thank yiu for giving time for victims’ stories and for keeping to the no notoriety pledge.

    Good podcast
Even though I disagree with your stance on gun control, I do love the fact that you don’t name the shooter. As evidenced by most of your stories, the guns used for the most part obtained illegally or are possessed by a juvenile (also illegal). Unfortunately you cannot legislate morality or sanity.

    Amazing Podcast!
Gives details about cases without giving the shooter the glorification they wanted. They go into more depth about the victims which I believe is really important! Well done!
  • LSD122070
    Awesome podcast, need more please!!!
Thank for giving no credit to the shooters and for having actual interviews with people involved. Great podcast.

    Done tastefully
Details without highlighting the shooter. I really like this podcast

    Liberal Agenda
I listened to one episode that was all it took to realize this is just more liberal agenda shoved in your ears. Common sense gun laws, such stupidity. Don’t waste your time. It’s not even a true study of the shooting it’s basically a report of what happened.

    Good but
I enjoy this podcast, but apple is really ruining it with the ads. I dont think hearing an ad for goaxil is appropriate for the content of this show.

    Disappointed
Check your facts!!! A lot of these dates are incorrect.
  • Kandyst4r
    Okay
It’s more confusing to me when they use fake names for the shooters especially when they have a podcast literally dedicated to them.

Very well done! One of my favorites!!

    Common sense gun laws?
Gun laws don’t prevent murders from killing

    Poor editing
I like this podcast for the information itself and that the host JT subscribes to the no notoriety pledge and gives less attention to the shooters themselves and really takes the time to respect and honor the victims. But nearly every episode has multiple editing issues - things like JT stumbling over his words or a “take 2” aren’t edited out. I’m fine with a word stumble - but there’s a common issue with that second take and first take both coming through. This podcast would be way better if it were edited properly.
  • Dittyknitty
    Full marks
I’m giving this 5 stars! No exaggeration, this podcast is VERY well done! I really like hearing love 911 calls and reports mixed in with the hosts commentary. JT does an excellent job! Excellent!

    Must listen
I understand this is a controversial topic and as a result people are giving it mixed reviews. It’s truly mind boggling as this podcast stands out among the rest. The content, sound quality and subject matter are top tier. But more than anything this is an important and ethical podcast that covers these difficult cases with respect and empathy. Well done! This is an important podcast and should be required listening. We can’t turn away from this phenomenon of mass shooters. Only by understanding them can we hope to stop them.

    Opportunity missed
A truly great idea very poorly done. Almost no editing of the podcast itself. Another great idea! Let’s play all the ads in the beginning 3x? Narrated like a wanna be asmr session so chock full of cliches and over dramatic descriptions. The writing reminds me of a very bad early junior high English project done at the last moment.

    Good Pod
This is a good podcast. I find myself tearing up when the narrator talks about the victims. These are real people, with real lives, real stories, hopes and dreams. I appreciate their treatment in each episode. Quick question: instead of humanizing the shooter by giving them a fake name, why not just call them “the shooter”? UPDATE The Mother Emmanuel church shooting was such a well-done episode. Beautiful job.

    👏🏻
This podcast truly is above and beyond what I love about ethical true crime podcasts. The narration, care, and research is on point. I would give it 100 stars if I could. Amazing work!!

    Great narration
This is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Easy listen, nice calm voice, and good content. Thank you!

    Thorough, Unique & Respectful
I had listened to another pod's episode before yours because when I'm interested in a case, I like to get several perspectives. Your pod offered more 9/11 recordings which I feel gives the listener a better understanding. I liked that you included the dispatch conversations even if they weren't necessarily relevant to what was happening because it illustrates the atmosphere and gives a rare behind the scenes perspective. I also liked that you went through a rough timeline of the day as it unfolded which I had been searching for and hadn't gotten from other pods. You didn't share anything inappropriate and remained respectful throughout.
  • melliebean13
Interesting stories but bland beyond that
The narrators voice is extremely monotonous, for talking about such tragedies you’d think he’d show some kind of emotion….like any emotion. The stories and details are absolutely interesting. However bleeping out and/or changing the shooters name is just absurd. Listened to three episodes and gave up on it. I had high hopes and was super excited to learn more about mass shootings and the mental health crises behind it. The repetitive “active shooter” snips from news recordings is incredibly annoying.

    Has a lot of potential
I think this podcast is getting better all of the time and I appreciate that. I’ve learned a lot of details from this series!

    Love this podcast!
Absolutely love how informative this show is—and the no-notoriety part is so great! Not a lot of wasted time to get to the point.

    Authentic
This is a great show and was almost an instant addition to my subscriptions.
  • MelNYC24
Definitely give this show a listen!!
This show makes people uncomfortable - for a good reason! It talks about some of the most tragic mass shootings in history and refuses to give the perpetrator any more attention by not using their name. The research and presentation are so great and they treat victims with empathy and respect - I’m definitely a subscriber and you should be too! ~Melanie, MoS

    Wasted Potential
This podcast is, surprisingly, nearly alone in its category. This could have been a huge and very good podcast. Instead, the host takes a good five minutes, while playing mournful music in the background, to spit out line after line of cliches, platitudes and sappy one-liners to signal to the audience how sad shootings are. The rest of the podcast has way, way too much of this littered throughout it. He spends so much time compensating for his guilt at making money off of these stories that he gives precious little time to actually telling what happened. He takes this to its final extreme at the end of episodes where he spends a good half of the podcast time naming the victims and giving tidbits about them. Essentially he does all the things that he can to signal that he is totally a good guy. Okay, great, but this makes for a very drawn out and un engaging podcast that spends only a tiny portion of it actually dealing with the topic. This podcast can’t get out of its own way and stop taking itself too seriously.
  • The Jury Room Podcast
    Respectful
I appreciate the fact this podcast does not name the perpetrator. They are very respectful to the victims. To everyone who says they focus to much on the perpetrator. They have to give you the background. What made this person tick? Why would they commit such a henious act? Thank you for all your hard work!

    “No notoriety”
    Really?
  • Jjsmitty
I really wanted to like this podcast.
In theory, this podcast could’ve been great. I would definitely say it’s a little confusing to say that you will not give the shooter the notoriety yeah you focus on them and their background much more than most of the victims, and some episodes in not even listing all of them because you don’t have time. I don’t have a podcast myself but I would assume that you do not have a time limit on how long you can make these. Other times the information is misleading and even sometimes is blaming the victims for their own demise. In the Sandy Hook episode it’s stated that because a teacher didn’t remember to lock the door all inside perished. In another episode of the Lafayette grand 16 theater shooting there’s a giggle in the moment where you talk about the shoes that are left behind because some patrons were frightened to their core they ran straight out of their shoes. More time needs to be focused on making sure that these come off as respectful to the victims especially if that is the argument against the non-notoriety pledge.
  • conkeyl
    So interesting!
Very informative. Absolutely heartbreaking stories, but I love that they have an emphasis on the victim and not the shooter. Keep um coming!
  • smccarty84
    Check it out
Why are mass casualties so interesting? Glad I found this podcast because they really do get into it all! So interesting!
  • Davidmwein
    A good pod
While this is 100% not my typical podcast I still found it very interesting. Well produced you can tell the host is very passionate about his show and it shows!
  • This studly guy
    3.5 if perfect rating
It’s a pretty corny podcast.. it’s fine tho.. nothing special.. nothing horrible.. but the narrator is suuuuuuper lame and sounds fake but hey, what do you expect nowadays..
  • Mverest
    Good podcast!
Wish they covered a little more, but definitely hits home. I was at the building next door during the Northern Illinois shooting. Had a friend that was shot. Got a bunch of shotgun pellets in the back, luckily survived. If it was the day before or after I would have been in that room. Still remember every year! Forward, Together, Forward!
  • CRR1988
    “No notoriety”
If this stupid podcast is going to insist on their holier-than-thou “no notoriety pledge,” maybe don’t have the real shooter’s name mentioned in multiple 911 call experts. You claim this pseudonym will “help” people follow along, and that’s just laughable. Also, a lot of people already know most of these shootings and know who the shooter is. YOU are contributing to their notoriety by making a dedicated podcast about them. You also say to scrutinize and suspect people of wrongdoing when they show a particular interest in mass casualty events. You better add yourselves to that list seeing as you MAKE A DEDICATED PODCAST ABOIT GODDAMN ACTIVE SHOOTERS. Dumb.
  • catsfieldhockey18
    Enjoyed!
The subject of these episodes are so heavy so be warned. It’s great to learn as to what happened in these stories - some that I’ve never even heard of. It does seem to be a little short of a podcast for some of these stories which I feel deserve an hour or more. Thanks for taking the time to focus on the victims.
  • Travmaan
Great material, Good concept. Bad production. Really bad narration
Content is great. Original audio from 1st hand sources. But none this show went out and recorded. However, it’s still interesting. It’s too short though for such an intense topic. It’s like a drive thru funeral. Ever been to one? Yeah, either have I. That’s bc some topics require smooth transition. All of that is tolerable tho. But the narrating and the tone of voice used is AWFUL. Just speak naturally. Or go listen to Mike Boudet’s Sword & Scale if you are going for that intense & somber combo. Because that show’s production, seamless transitions and excellent cadence is what this show could afford to gain from. Keep at it tho. It’s close to being a great podcast.
