I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few years, and it’s one of my favorites. It’s not always an easy topic as the name suggests, but Jack tells it in his own way.

I listen too a lot of podcasts and nothing gets me to turn off faster than a boring sounding host. Seriously, what are these people doing with a podcast. Jack has a great voice and speaks with engaging emotion. And while I don’t always agree with his opinions i always find him engaging and entertaining. I was compelled to write this review after hearing him talk about smoking crack and right in the middle of discussing the ugly moments of being at the end of your drugs and scraping together remnants for one last hit, podcast hard cuts to Jack doing a Rosetta Stone add read. Haven’t laughed that hard in a while. Keep up the good work Jack.

Dark Topic is the real deal. No sugar coating on this podcast. A real dive into the depth of how bad people can be. Extremely well written and composed. A podcast for those who want to take the true crime genre to the next level!

Here for the true crime. Not here for the host guy to be an ungrateful sad sack crybaby lamenting his family trip to Disney. Can you say Privilege? I made the mistake of paying for subscription for a couple months for dark topics content. I liked the sassy Kansas guy or whatever southern state. Think his name was Kenny. The lady bug guy was lame. Jack Luna is lame cause he’s a pathetic dumb dumb idiot head. And I finally unsubscribed cause I was here to hear disturbing stories. I’m sorry jacks dead died but hearing a drunk guy experience grief was the content I agreed to pay for. The current unpaid content would be fine if the jack off wasn’t being sad about being in Disney world with his whole family? I guess I’m the wrong audience. I’ll never have the means to afford a family vacation to Disney cause I paid for this Guys trip. I’m the idiot. So not pay for disappointing extra content!!!!!!!!

I love Jack and Kent’s chemistry and banter. The gallows humor is really good. Might not sound like it but you gotta make jokes to cleanse the palate from these cases.

I also struggle with alcohol and keeping the work family balance! I love my kids and try to be the best father unlike the men we hear about! Your story is also inspiring and I wish the best for you! Love the show. Really appreciated you talking about your attempt at sobriety. I’m coming up on 5 years next month so I can tell you with absolute certainty that it is possible. I still have a hard time having enough energy to keep up with my kids but check out some AA meetings if you’re interested. I go 3-4 times every week and come home ready to put in solid time with my boys. Take care man!

Seriously the best in true crime podcasts. The stories are written with the same intensity as a best selling novel. It’s amazing to get lost in these tales. I highly recommend Patreon or apple plus as the content is way better than you get anywhere else. Makes my day every time something is released!

I started off listening to Sword n Scale and thought it was awesome. Detailed, researched, straight up story. It is extremely monotone and super weird slow motion speech. But anyway, I thought it was good. UNTIL I heard you and Jack Luna together and my mind changed immediately! You guys research like no tomorrow and bring in details that no other do! You make it extremely fun to listen to with your banter! Makes me giggle! You are real about life’s challenges/experiences. Love that you are completely open about your own lives/struggles that we all can relate to! Hope you smoke Sword n Scale…..you guys deserve it!!!!! Even in your in-depth researched episodes, you are giving real time feelings and thoughts! You guys rock it and will always be my favs!
