Shrimp and Crits: Dania is a delightful delve into danger, dragons, and dang good world-building. It’s high fantasy, using Ironsworn in a way that makes me want to pick up the TTRPG for my own group, but it keeps the southern, folksy charm of the first season (some might say it even brings more). A wonderful listen all around.

Love listening to this podcast, it feels like I’m hanging out with friends. They go off track enough to be fun but not enough to lose the story. Thank y'all for making a lot of days more enjoyable!

Each brings something fun and dynamic to their particular flavor of storytelling. Their balanced chemistry and world building attributes make for an authentic and transporting experience. Plus, everyone has an infectious laugh and you can never tell how the dice have landed since their reactions are never telling! It’s been a joy to see how they’ve developed over the years as creators. Like cutting and polishing a freshly unearthed gem, they keep shining brighter and explore new depths with each part of the story they tell. Along with a vast range of vocal talents, their unique music and production quality are outstanding. It takes a lot of work to craft and edit sessions into episodes, and it’s much appreciated as a listener. Post Season One, I’m so glad they’ve chosen the route of independent rpgs. Very exciting to see how each plays out, especially as they take turns wearing the GM hat. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll be hungry for more.

On episode 54 and super invested in the campaign. Interesting story with real stakes, really engaging GM, great chemistry between players, natural humor.

My favorite kind of podcast is some friends just hanging out and kicking it. If they are also playing a TTRPG, that’s just more fun. I like it. I love it. I want more of it.

I love this show so much. Everyone’s performance is a delight, and the worldbuilding is superb. Oh, and it’s hilarious. Did I mention that this show is hilarious? Do yourself a favor and give these four a listen! Please! We need more podcasts like this in our lives!

This podcast is my first experience with any TTRPG, and I love it. The cast makes me laugh out loud at least once an episode and I’ve really fallen in love with the characters. As a Georgia native, I love the southern setting. It feels really distinct and alive. Shrimp and Crits has Top notch story telling and audio editing, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Join Ari, Sara, and Ray Ray as they waltz through life battling dangerous forces and trying to navigate Ray Ray’s monster fostering fetish. (They don’t all need homes, Raymon. ) The production value is great, and each episode leaves you looking forward to the next one. You’ll also get gems like: “Writing sonnets will never get you laid. Do drugs instead.” Somewhere in the Wyld, Shakespeare is saying to himself, “I gotta write that down.”

This show if my fav and I would “good number” everyone in the cast… at the same time if necessary. For real though I’m so happy to have this podcast in my life.

This is hands down the funniest Monster of the Week podcast out there. It has the perfect ratio of character and plot, but they don't take themselves too seriously. Katie, Ryan, and Cap have an electric dynamic; and Ian is the witty glue that holds it all together. A must listen to new and experienced MotW players!

Shrimp & Crits set an incredible example for the actual play community. Their story is heart-warming, exciting, and laugh out loud funny. Don’t let the laid back Floridian vibes fool you, this adventure is going places. Tune in dang it!

Heard an ad for this podcast on Mindflayed Mondays podcast and thought I’d check it out. Instantly was hooked. What a fun cast of characters. I’m only a few episodes in now but can’t wait to hear more.

I’m currently on episode 13 of this show and absolutely loving it. It’s quite honestly my favorite monster of the week podcast and I strongly recommend checking them out!

There is so few well produced, interesting, character-driven role playing podcasts, and yet this manages to do so while also being tremendously funny. The characters are great and all bring so much to the table, and the editing and sound effects really bring the story to life! If you want a perfect example of the Monster of the Week rpg, look no further

I learned about Shrimp and Crits from the Audioverse Awards and I'm glad I did. I had been looking for a Monster of the Week game, or honestly, anything other than Yet Another D&D 5E Podcast. I'm glad I checked it out! The mysteriesare interesting and the players are hilarious, especially playing off of one another and the Keeper, making sure the plot moves forward, but being completely silly the entire time. We have Deputy Payne, the Mundane, who is the straight man/foil to Ray Ray, the Monstrous, and Ari Green, the Searcher. Listening to Deputy Payne try to come to grips with all of the Things that are out there is fascinating. Give this show a listen, you won't be disappointed!

Charming, goofy, funny and everything I want from Monster of the Week! Come on in, the swamp is fine

Distinctly southern, and delightfully suspenseful! Gullacochica has a unique flavor, seasoned with an array of wonderful characters. The players and keeper work together so well. Sarah is such a great Mundane character, and a perfect audience surrogate.

I am not a gamer and found the story very interesting and it captured my interest

This has the vibe of a baddie-of-the-week show, with amazing production value, excellent voice acting, and a really engaging cast. I had never heard Monster of the Week played before and loved it. True to the name the southern charm is strong, as is the humor, without being so goofball that it can’t have its serious moments. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic addition to the catalog of Monster of the Week podcasts. Tight pacing, colorful characters, and seamless blending of music and effects drive the narrative forward. A strong sense of place permeates every scene, and the cast deftly weaves dice rolls and storytelling into a show that sits comfortably between actual play and audio drama. Look forward to hearing more!

The production quality is really impressive. Well edited. Great storytelling and character building. These 4 are hilarious together. They explain the game well for newbies like me. Love it and can’t wait to hear more!

This is my first RPG experience and I am thoroughly enjoying this story. I’m hooked and can’t wait for the next episode. Storyline is great and love the banter between all involved. This is a must listen!

I laughed for the very first time in 5 months.

If you’re a fan of critical role but wished it had more bear-pocalypse alternate world sci-fi...well, welcome to shrimp and grits! :p High quality production with creative cast and genuinely fun groups of friends hanging out doing what RPGs do best—storytelling and improv with unique world building. I’ve never played the gaming system they’re using but for anyone who’s ever played dnd you’ll notice a lot of the same mechanics. Can’t wait to hear more and sink into this fun new podcast!

This is a sci-fi crime mystery radio drama with a few pauses for dice rolls. The players really bring a lot of life to the story and the storyteller brings it all together beautifully with plenty of great NPSs and NPC voices. The pacing of each episode is great and every episode closes on a nice cliffhanger leaving me wanting more! Can’t wait for more episodes to roll out!

This story has been so much fun to listen to and the characters have great chemistry. For someone who is new to the game, they have made it so easy to follow along with the story and game play. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in this crazy Florida town!

Interplay between the players is fun and natural. Funny characters. Even though I don’t know this RPG, I was immediately invested in the story. Also, I love the sound effects and music. And I love that there’s a woman in the mix! 5 stars, check it out!

Such a good story so far! Audio quality and editing is way above most brand new podcasts! They do a great job of explaining the game as they play, a total newbie to RPG games could absolutely understand and enjoy listening. Definitely will be keeping up with each new episode!
