AmeliahrubyExpansive, creative wisdomI love Hurry Slowly. Every time I tune in, Jocelyn says something I *really* needed to hear that buoys my practice, my self, my spirit. I’m so grateful for this show!

Notanna96Too much navel gazingLike a lot of introspective pods, this one used to cover novel and helpful topics in an interesting way. Lately, it’s just a lot of I statements and super vague hand waving about “showing up.” Older episodes are good, but the newer ones don’t add up to much (unless you wanna hear one person’s every thought about themselves and their “transformation”).

kkkkkkkkkkkdonPlease move the mic further awayLove this podcast so much content wise but find it difficult to handle the ASMR mouth sounds.

RuckervilleLovely content to support being in right relationshipsI’m so grateful to the hosts for bringing together all of these beautiful humans. Every time I listen to a podcast I feel a reawakening of wisdom that has been suppressed as a result of being distracted by living a busy life. That wisdom helps me connect the dots so that I am able to make changes that support living a beautiful full and pleasurable life.

jcm615VOCAL FRYJesus Christ. How can she not be aware of how irritating her voice is?

Camille VirginiaRefreshing insights, actionable tipsAuthor David Sax introduced me to Jocelyn's podcast, and I'm so glad - she's smart, insightful, and gives great takeaways in every episode. She doesn't just remind us to slow down, but gives authentic and actionable tips of HOW to. So refreshing, highly recommended.
-
babbalooooIt has potentialThis podcast has potential but for me it just feels too scripted - the host, that is. And I just cannot get past her vocal fry. Moving on.

SleepyKDMajor source of support on my wellness journeyIf you only have time for a few episodes, the one about “who am I without the doing” is a real humdinger. Jocelyn doesn’t shy away from discomfort and hard questions, but creates a space of compassion to gently explore them.
-
dogearedbymhMy favorite podcast - soulful and insightfulI’m so glad I came across this podcast after seeing Jocelyn K. Glei’s newsletter recommended in a professional Slack group. The episodes I’ve most enjoyed so far are “What if you’re not broken?”, the talk with Rich Mhlanga “Your Check Engine Light Is On” and “Boundaries Are Everything” with Chani Nicholas.

Danielle Nava-MijaresA beautiful combination of healing, social justice and reflectionThis podcast is a daily source of inspiration, critical thought and sparks deeper reflection about how I want to show up and take space up in the world and in the work as a parent, advocate, educator and trainer. Thank you!

Calendar & Planner NerdJust What I NeededIf I weren’t in the middle of moving, I would leave a more detailed review. But I still took the time. Some episodes I will go back to and listen again! Great work!

Podcast-SuperfanLayers DeeperThis podcast is a true jewel. It digs beneath the surface of everyday life without pretending the slog isn’t part of the truth. Each episode brings me personal relief and insight; I would (and do) recommend it to anyone!

Angela MplsThoughtful and UsefulJocelyn K. Glei is taking a more personal approach to the latest season, including some “out there” topics she’d shied away from previously, and I am so impressed with how well she’s pulling it off. She ties our working lives, accomplishments and productivity into larger questions about who we are, what ultimately motivates us, and how we can move beyond ingrained habits and stories. So glad this podcast exists.
-
THA63Always interesting and insightfulI’ve been listening to this podcast for some time and always look forward to new episodes. Her topics are interesting and insightful—many ideas are new to me—the podcast always makes me think of things in a different way. Love her soothing voice and the music as well

Time PanickedHelped me calm down!Despite being obstensibly about productivity and creativity, Hurry Slowly is really about revealing how society has stripped us of our humanity, and ways to get it back. I was at the height of a time-management crisis - typical Millennial paralyzed by my pages of mundane to-dos and beating myself up for being a total failure - and listening to a handful of Hurry Slowlies helped me calm down so much! It's funny how I "know" lots of things like how it's better to be attentive to the present moment and it's healthy to spend time outdoors, but to hear them validated by research and intelligent, mindful conversation really helps those facts land. I do want to note for those with hearing sensitivities - the host does sometimes have vocal fry, mostly during the interviews. Jocelyn, if you're reading this - it is totally solvable! Voice coach Tracy Goodwin (Captivate the Room) says vocal fry is easily eliminated by training yourself to breathe more deeply and control your airflow better. It's really just a lack of air. For me, what I've learned from Hurry Slowly far outweighs the slight annoyance I feel about the vocal fry.

Boulder kissedExcited for Season 3When I wanted to send a personal email to Jocelyn regarding my excitement for Season 3, I thought it would be appropriate to instead write my very first review. I have not heard all of the episodes; I started late in Season 2. But when I heard her explain her decision for a different direction in Season 3, her new focus really excites me. I will still go back and listen to all the other episodes, but I am really looking forward to her shift in focus.
-
khgarfieldAlways look forward to tuning inSo relieved that Jocelyn is back with Season 3. I am always excited to see the Hurry Slowly newsletter in my inbox and am a big fan of the podcast that brings added thoughtful content and great talks with guests.

DaphnyaThis podcast is so nourishing!Loving this podcast so much! I’m a mindfulness practitioner and busy toddler mom, and it feels like just what I need to be listening to right now. I don’t have time to listen to many things but I am finding time for this one!

HurrySlowlyFanExceptionalEvery single episode is captivating. It surprises me still how impactful this podcast has become in my life. This simple concept has such far-reaching effects. And not only that, but I find her voice to be incredibly soothing and a joy to listen too. You won’t be disappointed.

obacker19Reconnect to empathyThis is the place I go when I need my dose of empathy in our hyperconnected world! Jocelyn and her guests seem to highlight the basic truth when we slow down, we can see the world (and the people we interact with everyday) more closely as it is/they are, not as we are. The questions she asks string together concepts that might not be immediately obvious but are hugely impactful because her guests can really SHARE. It's not fluff and that's refreshing. Thanks Jocelyn!!

Atb275Such a critical voice in a sea of “do more”This podcast is a breath of fresh air in this world telling us to do more, grow faster, be more productive. I’m so thankful to have found it—it’s already had an effect on the way I work and how I manage my time. Thank you!

TheMrsBlue2222Speaking to my soulI cannot thank Jocelyn enough for her insight and thought-provoking words. She hits on pain and problem points I hadn’t yet verbalized myself. Knowing I’m not alone in these thoughts and struggles as an entrepreneur gives me the courage and support to continue building my brand at an enjoyable pace.

MsmorroneOne of my very favorite podcastsI have listened to every single episode and with possibly one or two exceptions I have found all episodes to be extremely informative, well thought out, and full of excellent interviews. All topics were relevant to my life, again with just one or two exceptions. I’m a huge fan of Jocelyn now, and am always excited for a new episode to come out.

A-T-WHuman, thoughtful, and thought-provoking'Hurry Slowly' beams thoughtfully-crafted nuggets of wisdom to my ears, and often seem custom-tailored just for me—though each episode likely resonates with a large audience of creative and entrepreneurial-minded people. There is a personal, in-the-same-room quality to the podcast—and a poetic intro and outro that helps contextualize the 1-to-1 interviews in each episode, and connects them to the broader themes of the show: reframing creative work, awareness, building a sustainable approach to life/work balance, etc. I read Jocelyn's book 'Unsubscribe' a little while before Hurry Slowly's first episode was published. The ideas she articulated in that book helped rethink my approach to email and communication. On a larger level, the thinking she offered motivated me to consider more sustainable—and human—ways to be out there in the world as a creative professional. Tackling email was like 'flossing one tooth'—and rose my awareness about the possibilities out there for doing the work I care about, while being conscious of avoiding creative burnout.
-
ObiOneLilyThoughtful insightful gentle conversationsI always come away from this podcast with new ideas, new ways of being, and a sense that the way things are isn’t the way that they have to be. Check it out.

adinaroselevinBest Add of My YearJocelyn’s guests have brought diverse new perspectives to my life. I find myself writing down a line or two during each episode. Jocelyn herself has inspired me to take new risks in life and relish every moment as best I can. I’m less stressed and much more self-aware than I was this time last year. And my iPhone screen time is down significantly. Highly recommend this excellent podcast.
-
La FlaneuseI love the sane and kind approach! This podcast is a breath of fresh air. So much advice out there is good, but much of it is unachievable or just over the top. This podcast takes a more human and kind approach to being productive and creative. While listening, I feel motivated and inspired instead of overwhelmed. I also appreciate the high production quality and Jocelyn's voice and great interviewing skills. A new favorite!

BenDarlingReclaim your AttentionThis podcast is a good investment of time and attention. It certainly keeps me focused on the importance of what I give my attention and when.

KJLombardiWonderful!Hurry Slowly has become my favorite podcast—and has landed on my (very exclusive) “must listen” list. Every episode is carefully considered and packed with insights. I’ve filled pages in my Moleskine with notes and ideas thanks to what I’ve heard on Hurry Slowly. I eagerly await new episodes. Thank you, Jocelyn, for this great work. (PS. Her newsletter is just as good.)

Ironman & now-sprint-tri-manFor A Deep Life, Minding What MattersThis show is genius. If it was a book, it would be “Deep Work” meets “Designing Your Life” — but without the unexamined privilege of those two works. To paraphrase the host’s language, I really have been becoming more “productive, creative, and resilient through the simple act of slowing down.” I am learning to pace myself to avoid burnout, improve my productivity, and activate my creative mind. I find myself pushing back successfully against the conventional wisdom that busy is better. I am exploring how I can make smarter decisions, feel more comfortable taking risks — like kicking my ideas out the door before they're ready. And I manage my attention more intelligently -- as I learn to take my time. I have been taking more naps. Following my body's rhythms of when I feel motivated to be productive. I am coming to know, within me, more and more, that I really am a curious, ambitious person who is always striving to achieve more. I got the courage up to tell a large gathering of colleagues I need feedback from others to know what to improve on. And perhaps it's that growing confidence that I am doing deep work that makes me feel I really could use the show's occasional reminders to take it easy. And this is not even to mention the host’s remarkably calm yet authentic-sounding vocal tone, and the immaculately crafted music and sound production. Truly inspiring me to create and get my contributions out there.

pamster73Just when I needed itI’m a huge fan of Adam Grant and just listened to his episode. It was a good reminder that expressing gratitude is very impactful, and that we can do so much more of it. I’ll be writing my notes this weekend! I look forward to listening to all of the episodes and trust that there will be many gems.
