Beyond the Prescription

Medicine #147

Each week, Dr. Lucy McBride talks with her guests like she does her patients — pulling the curtain back on what it means to be healthy, connecting the dots between mental and physical health. To Dr. McBride, health is about more than the absence of disease. Health is a process, not an outcome. It's about having awareness of our medical facts, acceptance of the things we cannot control, and agency over what we can change. Doctor of privilege
There are some general points about health that are fine. But the podcast seems to be catered to a privileged audience.

Dr. Lucy McBride’s podcast is unique and pertinent for today’s issues. She emphasizes all the components of good health, including mental health, and interviews different sorts of experts that lend credibility to her message. She interjects her own personal stories into conversations with her guests in ways that illustrate important information and convey clarity. A real treat!

    Easy conversations with fascinating people
Dr. McBride’s podcast targets what I am always interested in learning more about - how our body’s overall health is tied to our mental health and life experiences as well as our nutritional habits. I enjoy taking the time to listen to her podcast and always come away with some new nugget of information/data that I can use myself or for my family.

    Total Quack
This is the doctor who wrote the widely criticized article about people who are scared of covid should just catch covid. A lot of people suffering from long covid would care to disagree.

    Love this podcast
So rarely do we get such honest looks “behind the scenes” of peoples’ lives and to hear about how they overcame physical and mental challenges to get to where they are. I can’t decide if this is educational or a guilty pleasure. Either way, I’m hooked.
