    🙄🙄🙄
Host is very annoying, kinda pedantic, super proud of being upper middle class, and generally hard to listen to. Check it out if you think Lisa Simpson would be fun to date.

    I miss this!
Every episode is fantastic, I learned so much from each one. She asks intelligent questions and explores each topic with ease all while making it fun to listen. Love her voice too! I miss this, please come back!

Opened My Eyes and Changed My Life
This podcast is fantastic. The host is funny, humble, and warm, and you almost don’t notice how big the ideas are that you’re hearing while listening. This podcast taught me so much about the pros and cons of the technology in my life, how I use it, and HOW IT USES ME. No conspiracy theories, just solid data and research, and advice from experts; information that we all should know about privacy and data but that is often difficult to discover or understand. This podcast makes it simple and straightforward. This podcast taught me how to have a better relationship with that technology so that it benefits my life instead of running my life, and taught me how to evaluate that. It’s actionable things to do, information without fear-mongering, and improved my life immeasurably.

    Come Back!
I love this podcast…and was so sad when it went to Luminary. No longer can you get episodes without a paid subscription. I’m sure they have their reasons, but this was my favorite podcast until it switched. Come back??

    Her voice is killing me.
Just terrible. Its like a podcast for 10 year olds online.

    A favorite
I was so looking forward to having this podcast back. But there hasn’t been an episode since April. Will there be more new episodes?

    Hard on young people
I used to love Note to Self but I stopped listening because I feel like they are trying so hard to be anti-technology/innovation some times that they can be really hard on millennials/gen z. Most notably the episode about TheSkimm and the one with Lele Pons’ interview. Those two turned me off to the podcast.

    Fascinating show
Well worth the time to listen

    Love love love this podcast
...but unfortunately some of the episodes feel like the adds are longer then the show itself. I’ve been listening to every single episode and none of them felt like oh well thanks but doesn’t apply to me. The show is very helpful to understand tech and its influence better and how to control my consumption of tech. It makes me more aware of the things I do and taught me so much. Can’t wait for new episodes to be released

I attempted to visit notetoselfradio.org and it took me to a WNYC message that says Page Not Found. So bummed.

Do yourself a favor and listen.
Manoush has put together a really amazing podcast here. A very nuanced discussion of how our lives are affected and significantly changed by technology.

    NPR One Listener
This is an amazing podcast with a wonderfully voiced host She's charming, analytical, respectful, awsome at keeping guests focused on what she's trying to get at. Great editing and I just gotta say I'm a huge fan. Didn't realize how big of a fan I was of the show until I got to writing this actually. Anyway, give it a listen and be sure to download the NPR One app on the Apple app store, or where ever you get your apps. Alexa compatible and even a lot of NPR podcasts are even available on Spotify now! Thanks for the great content Ladies and Gentlmen! -Jonathon

Love this show. One of the few I make sure I catch!

    Uneven
I find this to be somewhat uneven. Some shows are really fascinating, others, not so much. Note to Self used to be one of my top 5 podcasts. Sometimes Manoush interrupts her guests a bit too much, sometimes the sources are less than impeccable, and sometimes I feel as though I'm being patronized. I still listen, but don't always make it through an entire episode.

    Best Podcast ever!
I been listening to this podcast for a long time (like years). Manoush is the best podcast host! I look forward to each no podcast.

Wish the host would let others talk
I enjoy the topics and still will listen to this podcast when I'm done with my other podcasts. However, Manoush constantly is interrupting her guests and guessing where they are going to go with their conversation, and I find it extremely irritating. She seems to be the kind of person who doesn't listen to whoever she is talking to, but instead spends her time thinking of what thing she can tell you next. I think I find this even more annoying since the premise of the show is how to be a person and not be obsessed with yourself/your facebook/your own personal experience. The guests are great and should be allowed to finish their thoughts. I understand that her job is to lead the conversation, but sometimes I just have to turn it off because it's turned into a show where I learn all about Manoush's personal life instead of the actual topic at hand.

Tech and Humanity: How to Meld, How to Separate
Like cars and hammers, tech is a tool. It can be good or bad. But, like sugar and cocaine, it can be addictive, and most addictions eventually produce problems. Manoush weaves her tech discussion between celebrating the helpful tool and cursing the spawn of the addiction devil. She talks to people like Tristan Harris, who has been in tech for a long time, and is questioning some of the dark sides of tech. She also recognizes tech is here, and provides tech "hammers" to try and make it work better for us. (Anyone wanting to Escape from Yahoo! should listen to her 7/26/17 show.) For a "techie" show, the program is very people-relatable and helps us be better users of our everyday tech devices. Note to Self is on my short list of podcasts I subscribe to and one I always learn something practical from.

    Great Stuff
I love this show--even if my choice of new show names, from "New Tech City". when the call went out, wasn't chosen. (My choice was "Luddite" or now would be,"21st Century Luddite".) But whatever the show is called, Manoush Zomorodi is wonderful. Whether or not you choose to participate in one of her experiment/surveys, it's always a good listen.

All content is very relevant and up to date. I especially like the projects with listeners. Keep us the great work you guys. This podcast rocks.

    Most valuable podcast ever
This podcast is a must download! I stumbled upon it after listening to Ten Percent Happier (also a great podcast) and I can’t stop listening. Manoush Zomorodi is an awesome host and makes the podcast well worth it with her style of journalism. Her new book “Bored and Brilliant” is also fantastic. WNYC studios- keep putting out awesome content. 2Dope Queens and Note to Self?! Winning!

    Always interesting and thought-provoking!
I have been listening to Note to Self for quite a while and have really appreciated the discussions about the digital world whether it be distraction overload or privacy! Manoush always does a great job of including actionable tips/suggestions/exercises on the topics she discusses. Overall a fun listen and I’m looking forward to reading Manoush’s book Bored and Brilliant sometime soon!

    Smart and Unique
A podcast that informs and involves its listeners in a fun and interesting way. The facts and guests mix together to form a beautiful nugget of a story. Manosh’s presentation reflects her creativity, intelligence, and a staff behind her, that makes the podcast so credible and entertaining. Thanks. Maybe you could slip an hour episode in once and a while because I want more at the :30 mark.

Incredible - thoughtfully done, thought provoking, insightful. A meditation on humans and our predilections, particularly focusing on the role of technology. Must listen.

    Too Much Advertising
The content is very good, but so much of the podcast is consumed by advertising that I found it unbearable, so I unsubscribed.

    So good!
I love this show! Why should you be thinking about the intersection between technology and sociology? I didn't know I needed this show until I started listening. I am a better person because of it.
