Stephanomics

300

How will countries around the world cope with persistent inflation and high borrowing costs? Are central bankers helping to abate the cost-of-living crisis or are they moving us all closer to recession? On Stephanomics, a podcast hosted by Bloomberg Economics head Stephanie Flanders—the former BBC economics editor and chief market strategist for Europe at JPMorgan Asset Management—we combine reports from Bloomberg journalists around the world and conversations with internationally respected experts on these and other issues to bring the global economy to life.

One of the best news/economics podcasts, period.
Fantastic, insightful, and great analysis without the spin/ drama of lesser news programs. The interviews are comprehensive and critical thinking. The interviewees are interesting and diverse experts and content is always fresh and relevant. Keep up the great work Stephanie and Bloomberg team!

I’m a regular listener and appreciate the analysis and perspective. 2 thumbs up!

    Too many ads
It hurt me to Unfollow the show, because it is so good. But there are so many ads, it’s unlistenable.

Great show & content but ad ratio is too much
Like the title says, this is a great show and has really good content, but the ratio of ads to content is weighted far too heavily to the ads side. The first time I listened, the episode started out with 4.5 mins of ads, 5 mins of content, and then ads again. I persevered a few episodes thinking they can’t all be like that but the ratio is similar across the board. I would pay a few bucks for an ad free version, but otherwise not really worthwhile anymore

I learn a lot about business around the world
I like to hear from the experts what they think is happening to the world of business and it helps me make better investments.

    Balance? Not on Bloomberg.
Would be a whole lot better without all of the Trump bashing. You don’t need to keep trying to boost Michael Bloomberg’s campaign, he failed miserably, worse than any other candidate in history. Wake up, the majority are not as woke as you. Just the facts. Balance the perspectives. Hold your opinions. Spare us your snarky sniping. Prepare yourself for Trump’s re-election. PS.: Shaun Donnon is a hack, partisan, hit-man. No wonder you host him so often. Balance? Not on Bloomberg.

    Necessary Conversations
The world is changing before our eyes. the conversations and topics in this podcast are definitely trying to identify where and why these are happening

    Simply bad
Simply a bad podcast. Stephanie refuses to be original and think for herself. Just a mouthpiece for conventional media headlines, it is not worth your time

    Smacks of r/latestagecapitalism
They were covering a 70 year old in their last story about people who couldn’t afford to retire. When they used the line “now that she has a job, she can even afford meat sometimes!”, my stomach dropped. Very dehumanizing view. This has been repeated in other stories as well.

Logo, Name, and Topic of first show are stolen
I’ve seen this all before at kazonomics.com and winternomics.tv. Unoriginal and blatant theft from him.

    Highly recommend listening to it
I started listening in September 2018. I started from the bottom so currently I’m listening to the 2017 podcast . To be honest I love it I enjoy listening to it and even though is from 2017. I remember where I was, and what was happening at that moment. I’m an immigrant in NYC and to me is a way to learn the language, and the economy at the same time.

Great podcast ! Don’t go on hiatus!!
This is a well produced and interesting podcast.

Great topics, wish Moss would prepare more
Benchmark has gone downhill. The show is becoming less balanced. The host needs to prepare more for the show. Provocative questions are a distraction.
  • DctrJames
    Blind to many facts...
The elephant in the room was overlooked in a recent podcast about the trade war as Moss never bothered to bring up forced technology transfers. Don’t waste your time listening to his propaganda.
  • thegoodwolverine
    Misinformed by the title
I expected this to be about the economic implications of a declining workforce as a % of population, but other than a broad statement at the beginning, this is all about fertility treatments and expenses.
  • ToledoTomxxx
    Amateur hour 1-11 podcast
This was so lame. The "expert" being interviewed has such weak analysis it was a total waste.

This podcast actually has very interesting content if you gloss over the Anti-Trump titles and the anti-Trump host you learn some interesting stuff. If you came across this podcast hoping to hear how Trump is going to kills us all, you'll be disapointed to find out the episodes consistently make that point that we're all going to be ok. The titles as a whole are clickbaity and do a poor job of identifying the topic. The host and topic are never able to justify their anti-Trump point which they desperately have a vendetta for. Instead they are constantly forced to conclude that the Economy is improving, probably despite Trump. Anti-Trump people will hate this podcast for failing to make the point. Pro-Trump people will hate this podcast for trying to be anti-Trump. Anti-Trump people will hate this podcast for failing to live up to expecations. I have no idea what kind of people actually will enjoy this.
  • Mcb2491
    Very educational
Great supplement to my economics and finance classes
  • Araina Aray
    Reality check
“Economics” not really an issue with death rates” as stated by one of the hosts, just smacks of the lack of “Enlightenment” and knowledge that exists in the levels of so many monoculture, monolingual sets of people. This is old news: Blacks, Browns, Indigenous have had to deal with disparity, equity and access since cultural appropriations and exploitations have manifested. Now all of the societal ills that have destroyed so many millions has come home to roost. No glee, just pity and sorrow, all of the genius and experts had to write a book and do a study now that mortality rates are falling which been affecting poor and ethnic minorities since day one. Access, Equity and Parity for all.

Could the U.S. Make College Free?
If this is Bloomberg’s idea of an interesting or provocative podcast, forget it. This is like someone inviting you to a meal and when you show up you’re handed a thimble of water.
  • Bonkbonk111

I love this podcast but I said hello to Tori on the street today and she didn't say hello back.

    Keynesian Bank Propaganda
I had to unsubscribe from this because it was so nasty. They actually did an espide on "The world isn't getting pricier fast enough", and they actually said "maybe the next time you're in a store you'll be a little glad that you see some price increases here and there." If you want to know about economics look up Austrian economics. It makes way more sense. Or try Planet Money podcast. Their stories are much better researched and produced, without overt propaganda.

    Best podcast out there!
Insightful and profound! Tori and Aki are a pleasure to listen to- one of my favorites
  • Amateur economist
    Listening with enthusiasm
A great new idea and concept and wonderfully fun way to include economics and economic concepts in every day life. Tori and Aki have great chemistry and an easy listening style. Dan is interesting but perhaps a more relaxed and informal style would work better in this setting as he sounds quite stilted and unnatural on the podcast in comparison to the two ladies.

    Just what the doctor ordered!
As a busy medical professional, I am always looking for efficient ways to keep pace with an ever-changing economic landscape. This podcast fits the bill. An engaging cast effectively delivers interesting and useful content. The episodes are of perfect length and avoid the boredom encountered during your standard ECON lecture. I love how I can easily listen to an episode during my morning commute. Bloomberg hit this one out the park. Can't wait for future episodes!
  • orang1na
    Good stuff!
