Very interesting and enjoyable podcast. Robert does an excellent job as host along with his wife. Found this podcast after listening to their coverage of The Iditarod. Learning about Mushing as an older listener in California .

I first found this podcast years ago when Iditarod was a great event to keep my excited through the dark winters. Now I do a little bit of mushing myself and I still love to listen! I appreciate the long format and conversational style of the pod and I love getting to hear little tidbits of Robert, Toni, and Michelle’s lives too. If you’re looking for a snappy, fast-paced, soundbyte-kind of show, this probably isn’t the show for you. But if you want to hear about the community and lifestyle of mushing, I 100% recommend this podcast!

So glad I found this podcast. Love the Iditarod focus and have learned a lot listening to these guys. Thank you to Toni, Robert and Michele for keeping it real and making it fun, too.

I’m a city kid from the West Coast who ended up in the Midwest as an adult. Never mushed, but the 2008 Frontline documentary on the Iditarod hooked me on following long distance sled dog racing. I love the athleticism of both drivers and dogs, the quasi-international vibe of the sport, and the fact that winning depends on a multilayer cake of skill, training, experience, health, trail conditions, and weather! It’s incredible. Mushing Radio gives us a window into the culture of dog sledding, tell stories about past and current mushers of every experience level, highlight the dogs, and answer any question. It is one of the best resources from which I learn so much.

Every year I get a little more obsessed with Iditarod coverage. And this was the year that I went “all in” when I discovered Mushing Radio! I live in the eastern part of the US so my morning routine would consist of coffee & the latest MR episode. I love their coverage of the race which includes race and trail details, featuring different mushers each episode & giving a question of the day. I love that many of the mushers they talk about are not the “stars” but more mid to back of the packers. I also love the back & forth between the hosts. And a “high five” to Michele from another one L Michele.

From the Iditarod to mid distance racing, from rookies to veterans, you’ll learn all about mushing, it’s history, and details about important races.

This is a wonderful podcast if you love mushing and especially the Iditarod. Robert, Toni, and Michelle are super knowledgeable and generously share their deep and intimate knowledge of mushing, current and former mushers, and the history of mushing in Alaska. I have learned so much from them!

I have learned so much about what’s going on in the races and what some mushers have gone through to get there. Toni really does know everything and she articulates it well. Robert produces a quality podcast for a somewhat niche audience.

I have learned so much from listening to this podcast. Before Mushing Radio, I only followed the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod. Through this podcast, it has been fun to learn about other races and what my favorite mushers do in the lead up to the grand finale races. Thank you for putting out such a quality show!

This is a great resource for all mushing fans. Robert and Toni do a wonderful job covering mushing all over Alaska and the lower 48. If you love sled dogs and mushing, you’ll love this podcast.

This podcast is so great for the mushing community. It puts out a ton of information and allows us to learn from people. We would probably never meet. We are a recreational team with only nine dogs, but we love all the stories.

I grew up with a dogsled team. I love mushing, and this is the best mushing podcast anywhere. Love it!

I’m part of the new generation of mushers further south in the lower 48 that has a mountain bike that I like to hook my dog up to and hit the trails (mostly without snow). Even though I’ll never have a big team or run the Iditarod, I love hearing the stories and updates on these mushing icons as it helps me build on the performance and the bond I have with my dog. Look forward to more!
