fitzrickLove the showLove the college coverage. The only problem is just cause your broadcasting a matchup doesn’t mean you can’t have an opinion on who wins. I think it’s the weakest take in the business.

80'sVillagerWho’s Andrew? Not sure who Andrew is either. I plead AutoCorrect. But I can assure Mr. Kane that the the Alex & David team has many fans as they have become the Laurel & Hardy, Burns & Allen, perhaps Butch & Sundance of our time.

JordyTennisBad TimingThis podcast gives gambling advice but is frequently released during mornings when the matches discussed are in Europe and have already started. Need to get the picks out the night before for it to make sense to listen to

RiverSchuylkillPlease publish earlier!Great information and suggestions on the DraftKings Ace of the Day episodes but the episodes are being posted too late to use any of it, at least on Apple Podcasts.

Former UmpTim Smyczek Being Salty with Lines-people at WinnetkaA little insight into this, I was at the Dallas Challenger earlier this year and watched the Smyczech v. McDonals Quarterfinal and Tim was not happy about more than a few calls at the end of the first set, which cost him the first set. He was visibly upset and questioned every close call in the second and his anger snowballed and he dropped it 6-2. He wasn’t wrong about the majority of the calls that went against him. The line crew was struggling, and they made a handful of bad calls that were not corrected. Keep in mind that the majority of Lines people at the challenger level travel between each challenger and its more than likely many of the same crew were in Winnetka. Taylor Dent gave a presentation to the US Open Umpires one year and one umpire asked him a great question during the Q & A session. The umpire asked if he felt an umpire, at any level affected the outcome of one of his matches. Taylor immediately said “yes, absolutely, and some of them are in this room right now.” Taylor had been retired from Tennis for over a decade at this point. This story illustrates how the players recognized the umpires, both bad and good, and how they can affect a match. I’m certain that Smyczek recognized a few lines people and that may brought up his distrust of their ability to call the lines. Plus the possibility of him running into a few of them at Challenger events in between Dallas and Winnetka is extremely likely. Same as in my own recreational play I am haunted by and blown forehand or double-fault when I recall matches that I lost.

Your new sponsorThe Jv GrindAs a member of my junior varsity high school team, tennis has been a ruthless sport to me. My efforts to succeed were usually quashed by more knowledgeable players so i looked to gain it. Eventually I turned to the great shot podcast, here I have learned the tricks of the trade in tennis. After learning about the professionals here, i started to succeed. I now succeed in this glorious sport and it's thanks to Alex and the crew. I am proud to be a fake sponsor of the great shot.

tennis enthusiast123Hey alex, great pod! Before listening to the great shot podcast, i thought professional tennis was a boring sport with little climax. As a high school player myself, i often look for ways to spice up the game. Alex gruskin you have truly allowed me to care about my sport once again. Your comparisons to skinny fat players and tennis starting five are absolutely hilarious and bring joy to this sport that was once dull to me. What more can i say, five stars
